The hotel was in need of a touch up. It had a run down feel to it. We got a room in the secondary building that was below the parking lot. The window was in the “sitting” area making the bedroom area dark. The air conditioner didn’t work and some music from a neighboring property didn’t allow to leave the windows open. There was a scent machine in the hallway that was overwhelming.

We were very satisfied with our week long stay in the Amazonia Estoril. The location is very good. It is located in a very quiet safe residential area and yet is only a 6 minute walk to the train station at Estoril and approximately a 30 minute stroll into Cascais. We booked a studio which was spotless and the daily housekeeping was excellent. I do not understand the poor reviews as this certainly does not reflect our experience. I agree the property is a little 'tired' in places but on balance this was more than tolerable and we found the Amazonia very good value for money. I would have no hesitation in staying in the Amazonia again.

The property is well located just five minutes from Estoril train station, beach and bars / restaurants. Our room was immaculately cleaned every day. The pool area was also very clean. Some staff were very friendly.
Doesn’t really feel like a four star hotel in terms of service. There is only one parasol for the whole of the pool area, sun beds in need of an update. Some of the staff were not particularly helpful, on two occasions we asked to purchase drinks / snacks in the middle of the day and were told that “it was not possible”. There is no bar in the hotel.

Its location. Very easy to get around. It was clean. Train station down the road to get to Cascais, which was buzzing, and beyond. Some lovely restaurants and bars to eat and drink at. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool area was clean and tidy and more than enough beds. Breakfast was nice, the pastries were scrumptious. If they’d kept the lid on the bacon & scrambled eggs it would have been hot. We stayed in a group of 10 of us and had a blast!
It does need a bit of a re-vamp as it’s very tired looking. The pool is definitely in need of a good sorting out. There’s also no bar in the evening which is a shame, as it meant we couldn’t come back for a night cap and chat after our nights out.

The hair dryer was extremely weak (had to push the button to keep it going) and it had such little power it took 30 mins. To get my hair (which is longer) dry.
We stayed in the back building and the room was a Superior Studio. It was spacious, but dated. There was an extremely offensive smell on the first floor that appeared to be poisonous for bugs.
The pool was ice cold!

Room 233 is very old. So old as Egyptian pyramids, I guess. Walls, furniture and floor are in scratches, no hot water (at least after the 22.00, when we tried to get shower). It’s a shame to provide such a room for guests. I didn’t say anything to personal only because I stayed 1 night. But it’s the worst stay I’ve ever met in Portugal

The view.
Breakfast is rather OK. It costs €12 each.
Poor amenities: no tissue paper, no emergency small toothpaste, no cutteries, no paper towel, no coffee making. Each night only 7-8 ice cubes are available and no room service. It takes a short uphill walk up to the reception to get the ration.
The in-room telephone was broken, and was not replaced during the 6-day stay.
I asked for a queen sized bed. It was not available. When 2 single beds were put together, there was quite a gap.
The outdoor pool was not heated: too cold to swim.
Apparently, the restaurant is open only for breakfast.
The hotel is 5 minutes walk up a long slope, and another 45-50 steps up to reach the building itself.
For walk-in, the posted price for 1 person is almost €380 a night!

My friend and I were a last-minute booking, having been let down in Lisbon. The hotel and staff were excellent and so helpful and welcoming. It was an ideal location so close to the beach, with lovely grounds and rooms and we had a balcony. We would definitely stay again if we had the opportunity.
It would have been good to have a kettle in the room, but this did not detract from our overall experience.

It was a nice and quiet stay in Estoril. The hotel is just 5 minutes walk to the beach. Staff are warm and accommodating. I love the hotel's hallway scent. I stayed in a room with a balcony, and the room was okay. The bed was comfy enough. Availed of the hotel breakfast, which is a simple and basic breakfast menu. I like the bread most.. Weather cooperated, my 2 days stay was generally good.
Rooms - no amenities like coffee and tea, which I think should be basic . Lacking toiletries like toothbrush and lotion. These are just minor issues, but it would be a plus to the hotel's amenities .
Breakfast - It would be nice to have a variety of food every morning, especially when stay is for more than a night.
Some of the amenities should be repaired, I noticed the pool's ladder needed some fixing. The garden by the pool could be a perfect lounging area in good weather if there's proper seating furniture nicely placed and arranged.
I understand that it's not the peak season, but irregardless of the season, it would be nice to stay in a well and nicely kept hotel, no matter what the star rating is.

The Location is great! Very quiet and close to the Beach and Train Station which takes you to Lisbon.
The bathroom needs Renovation and had a strange smell. The entire building is pretty run down.

Nice welcome on Friday evening at the reception. Large room, comfortable bed, large bathroom, balcony and a large window. Parking is available and included for free. Good coffee.
The room floor is old and damaged. The bathroom is appearing not very clean. The toilet seat is very uncomfortable. The fridge is not working. The breakfast room is not very clean and could use some attention. The restaurant does not correspond to 4 stars hotel. The outside terrace, which includes the pool, also does not appear clean.

Property is a bit run down. Certainly NOT a 4 star as stated. We had just left a 4 star in Tomar (about 1.5 hours away) and when compared to this property, I would rate it at 2.5-3 Max!

The room was spacious with agreat view of the ocean. The reception staff was kind, helpful and professional.The room was spotless and clean, it was cleaned every day from a labor young lady. Iara who was responsible alone for the tasty and quite rich breakfast and she helped us a lot with our 2 kids during breakfast. She did an amazing job preparing the breakfast, though we think this was a lot for just one employee. She should have at least one assistant to handle the breakfast.
The outdoor pool, although nice, it should be heated and cleaned thoroughly.

View from the room, lovely pool and sun loungers. Good location with easy access to restaurants, beach and train station to Lisbon. A great place to relax after busy days sight seeing in the city or Sintra.
The room was large and clean but the fittings and floor were tired, and needed renovating or replacing.

Great location, friendly staff when you could find them, good breakfast, free parking great views and affordable.
It would have been nice if there was more atmosphere, there was nowhere to get a drink in the evening not even a coffee. Very light on staff, a beautiful building in need of some love and attention really a coat of paint wouldn't go a miss, never saw anyone clean the pool either it was a bit tired.

The location is good but hard to walk to as it’s uphill so must go up and down in a car
Old flooring in the rooms can be quite dangerous and cause fall , must be replaced !
Everything must be remodeled in this hotel as it’s all quite old
