Perfect hotel for a city break to Lisbon. Large room and en-suite bathroom. Breakfast very good value although always easy to get something to eat in Lisbon. Everything available at front door - Hop-on city buses, metro, airport buses etc and even when we arranged a Food Tour the meeting point was literally across the street. Train to Sinatra station less than 100 metres away.

The location was excellent for exploring the main city area with everywhere within walking distance. The hotel is also next to the metro and buses and taxis are nearby. The hotel itself is very imposing from the street and has a rooftop terrace where we enjoyed sundowners and nightcaps each day.
The furnishings are showing their age and could do with an upgrade. Beggars litter the streets, but that is a problem everywhere.

I love the staff, the front desk is great and the location is great, quiet and full of facilities. If I had another chance, I would choose this place again. They also provided us with a pick-up service at the airport, which was fantastic!

The furniture is worn out, and the bathroom needs renewing fixtures. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable.
But I regret to say that, We forgot our phone charger with the USB cable in the room, but unfortunately, we were not informed about it, even though we had left our luggage at the hotel for storage until 4:00 PM.

The hotel has an excellent location with metro station right next to the door, as well as bus stops and lots of restaurants and shops (city center) . The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. They had the room ready well before the check in hours and that was very helpful for us. They cleaned the rooms every day! Stunting views from the terrace and nice pool. I would recommend the hotel.
As known beforehand the hotel needs some renovations.

The apartment is not clean; it hasn't been properly maintained. The toilet floor is dirty, and it seems the cleaners are not doing their job. The carpet also needs cleaning, and the two single beds are very uncomfortable; they are spring mattresses. Additionally, there are bugs present.

The room was very basic compare to the pictures and the Badtub was floating every time I showered. I asked for a fix but it didn’t work, as well the bathroom had a funny smell, like eggy, was not really comfortable.
On the other hand the second day the room door didn’t open, they have us new keys and still didn’t work and they had to call someone else to fix it. After a long day you don’t want to be locked out of your room.

We reached around 9:30 am and were already allowed to check-in which we didn't even expect. So that's a huge plus and thanks to the staff for that. We also got an extra hour for the checkout. We had two apartments and we were provided nearby ones. The location was really good and central. The apartment had all the basic facilities that we expected and was very clean. You could say that it is a bit dated but we knew that and therefore weren't disappointed like some others had mentioned in some reviews. We didn't use the roof top bar and the swimming pool was closed, so no comments for those.
There is a coffee machine provided in the room but tea bags would have been good for the non-coffee drinkers. The bathroom can be a big congested for people who are of a bigger size, especially the WC and the bathtub for shower. However, this is not something that can be fixed I assume. Breakfast area was a bit crowded and the options were not great but it was not a problem for us and we ate outside on the other days.

There are two and only main reasons to stay in VIP Eden:
1. swimming pool on the roof top terrace with amazing view on entire Lisbon
2. location
We used to come to VIP Eden 20 years ago for couple of years but the hotel was getting older and older with zero investment and only growing room rate so we stopped coming. Then we realized VIP Eden was under renovation so we decided to give it another try. Unfortunately inside nothing changed - the same old furniture, the same old bathrooms - like the time stopped. We regret it severely as we love the terrace and the swimming pool but the rest is far below expectations.

Great location! Lots to walk to, and great transportation options (bus, train, trams all close by). The pool was nice, and we were typically able to find a seat on the roof top terrace! The kitchen in each room was great and met all our needs.
The rooms were a bit outdated, and the lights in the hallway were often turned off when we got off the elevator, so it was strange and a bit spooky walking into a dark floor!

Amazing location with great rooftop pool and bar (not enough sun beds though) with nice view. Super central and close to everything in Lisbon.
It was very quiet despite the central location. Relatively good price for value for the location and hotel facilities.
The apartment had a nice size but was quite run-down and some things were not functioning or broken such as the toilet flush, the closet and the doors.

The location is excellent, and the rooftop terrace with the pool is a highlight – great views and a pleasant space to relax.
The rooms are worn and outdated, and the corridors are dark with visible mould. The air conditioning barely works, which made the stay uncomfortable. I rented an apartment, but it was much smaller than expected. The staff were not welcoming or helpful.
This hotel is advertised as a 4-star property, but I’ve stayed in 2-star hotels that were far better. Given the high price, the experience was very poor. I would not recommend staying here.

Location is excellent. Easy access to the old town. Staff were friendly Pool was nicely located. It was OK as I was on my own.
Hotel could do with an upgrade. It's a bit tired and needs new furniture and carpet.
The poolside furniture needs replacing. The dining room is small and the food although good was not varied.

We really enjoyed the convenient location in the heart of the city. The room was comfortable and included a mini kitchen, which was a great addition.
We didn’t like that our room faced a street where rebuilding work was taking place. Because of the ongoing construction right in front of us, we had no view and couldn’t open the window, so we had to keep it closed throughout our stay.

Location is AMAZING! Metro right there, taxi's near by and walking is easy to get to different parts of the city.
Breakfast was good. Lots of choices and convenient.
The rooftop bar area was nice. I'm sure in the summer months it's even better. We had sun and sat out with snacks and drinks.
The bed was pretty firm, but standard in Europe.

Central location was great, excellent value for being so close to the middle of everything. Stately, historic building. Bar on the roof had friendly staff and an excellent view. Reception was pleasant and all staff was fluent in English. We even received robes and slippers to make us feel like real VIPs!
Nothing, really. Everything was wonderful, the only minor detail would be that the kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need with the exception of a wine corkscrew.
