Miramar Hotel Spa & Apartments is a charming hotel with a welcoming atmosphere, where every step is a discovery about the history of Nazaré. It is located 2297 feet from Nazaré beach (10 minutes walk) in a privileged location overlooking the sea. This hotel has 44 rooms, of which nine are suites.

Location was good and quite ( better than in downtown in the city if you don't mind a steep downhill walk to the centre) Maybe we were lucky but had no problem finding a nearby (free) parking space.
Our seaview room allowed us to see a glimpse of the see, but not really what we expected. So the price was high compared to what we got. Location is OK, breakfast also OK although confirm what others mentioned - not a single window so not really a place where you want to stay too long (probably on purpose) such a shame on such a nice spot.

2nd time here and not by choice . Did not like the hotel the first time so booked somewhere else only to be told the evening before arrival that due to a maintenance issue the hotel we had booked had to close and this us the alternative!
Was given the "honeymoon suite" Had we been on honeymoon we would have been devastated.
Glass bathroom in the middle of the room, no shower screen so flooded all the time. The blinds around the glass bathroom were broken beyond repair and the room is in general disrepair......old and very tatty

I enjoyed the view on the ocean. Staff working in the hotel tried to be helpful but I could sense that they couldn't do more.
I had ants in the bathroom, so our room was changed for the appartement. Appartement was lovely but at 9 am there was drilling in the walls and some constructions happening in the building. Still, other insects, like small spiders were coming out from the ventilation hole. Some staff members gave me water to the room, some said I had to pay for it, which I found very unfair. I have never been in the hotel where I I had to pay for drinking water or basic staff like tea in the room. Breakfast was every single day the same. Warm options only scrambled eggs and saussages. No fresh vegetables but impressive amount of bread options and good quality.

The view from our terrace was fabulous! We had an apartment, it was quite large and comfortable. The restaurant was superb, and we had dinner there for two nights. By the way, we stayed there 2 nights, not just one. I had made an error and had to book a single night twice.

There is street signs showing directions where to go then within a block no sings.
The entrance of Hotel is situated on a one way street which go to go in circles.
Parking is on the street. Night mare to find a spot.
The carpet in the hall way going to the room , smells dingy and old. The wall could use an upgrade more modern as it looks like the 70’s wood. Elevator smells inside of hydraulic oil.

Phenomenal view (weather permitting). Large pool. Good sized room with good and A/C and water pressure. Good breakfast with good amount of options. Quiet.
Located on bluff above town, pretty hard to walk we took an uber even having a car because there is no parking and the street spots are extremely limited. Hard to tell on a map how much elevation there is between hotel and town, distance wise it's less than a mile but there is probably 300 feet of vertical you would have to climb back up.

We had to send back a meal my husband ordered it was veal, and it wasn't fresh so they replaced it with a cold steak and cold chips and vegetables we gave in and didn't and wouldn't ever go back our bill was 97 euro!! Disgusting food.

Requested another room for next day, everything working, however the matress and pillows were horrendous! Not up to a 4 star hotel, more like 1 star. The pillows were very old and cheap, the linen were very old and cheap, and the mattress was hard as a rock and unleveled. Will need chiropractic after the visit! Yikes!

However, the staff is super nice and helpful, and allows you to take the food to the tables next to the pool (so it's a good alternative if you don't mind carrying food from the buffet to the pool, I highly suggest taking the breakfast food outside)

Also it has pool table and stylish reataurant with a garden overlooking the old city.
Blankets are without sheets (I don't know how it's called) but you basically have sheet just underneath the blanket, so if you move in your sleep you soon find yourself covered with unwashed blanket.
Also dental kit could be expected in a 4 star hotel.

Transport was easy enough to arrange and we were 1.8km away from Nazaré beach.
We will definitely stay here again.

Love this Place, the Sauna and Pool were amazing, the breakfast was nice, the smart tv in the room was a nice touch, great staff, great view of the Portuguese coastline, comfy bed, nice shower, everything was really nice

I guess the only thing is that the room was clean.
I am only doing this review because I don't believe this hotel should have 4 stars:
1) The staff at check-in were not welcoming. They were efficient, true. But not welcoming.
2) The hotel is in dire need for an update. The carpets all over are dirty, overused and in need of being changed. The pictures on the walls are extremely interesting, they tell Nazaré's history. However, many are falling. The room we stayed seemed like a motel not a 4 stars hotel room.
3) The location is charming but we could not enjoy it fully.
4) The TV in the room we stayed was in the wall facing the door without any way to seat down and watch it. Moreover, it only had the local channels. When we sat at the bed, we could not move the TV to watch from the bed. So we had to watch it at a 45 degree angle.
5) The bed mattress was VERY BAD. You could feel the highs and lows. As a result, we both could not sleep well and ended up with back aches.
6) Although the food was good at the restaurante, it took about 20 min from the time we were seated to the time someone came to take our order. We were almost giving up and there was only 3 tables seated at the time!
7) Also we know people have children, however small children should not be allowed to dine late in the evening when they are tired or they should be placed in a different side of the restaurant. It was unbearable having dinner with children screaming and misbehaving. Yes, I know that this is the parents fault. But the hotel could help with seating arrangements or hours to entertain them. We tolerated them. We saw other couples asking to be moved away or gave up on dinner.
