The location is outstanding and VERY comfortable. You even have your own washing machine. The blackout curtains and cozy sheets guarantee a good night’s rest. It is perfect if you’re walking the Camino. The host could not be more accommodating, or kind. The patio is relaxing and coffee for your morning is delightful in this fully stocked kitchen. I cannot say enough about how delightful and reasonably priced it is.
I wished I could stay longer.

The hotel is in a great location, and the check-in and check-out process was seamless. I consciously chose a room without windows, but I’d advise considering this option carefully, especially for longer stays. Location, location, location. I walked the Camino de Santiago - Portuguese central route. Guest House Triunfo is very close to the Cathedral in Porto, where you get your Pilgrim Passport. It is also centrally located for exploring Porto. I found the staff to be wonderfully supportive!

It’s great for a solo traveler for a short stay and I like that they have private and en-suite bathrooms.
Sound proof wasn’t great. I had a single room without windows; however for ventilation reason there is actually a window opening towards the corridor which cannot be closed. Thus I can hear everything that is happening outside in the corridors and I don’t feel like much privacy as I know people outside can hear me too!
Shower not draining quick enough so I cannot stand inside the shower block when I take a shower.
Cleaning could be done slightly more carefully as I found a used soap in the bathroom from the previous customer.

The heater/air con started leaking all over my head and pillow. It then began making an awful noise. I was offered nothing. No alternative room, refund, clean bed sheets, compassion nothing at all. Ended up having to leave and find another hotel at gone midnight. The staff member happily watched me walk out into the dark, very wet night. As a female on my own in a country I wasn’t used to. I’d never stay here again ever.

The room was clean. The only other positive point was that the woman on reception was very helpful. However overall this Guest Hse is poor. I was given a much small room than I thought I had reserved and certainly smaller than the one on the photos I booked - very much a "Box Room". Too small - irrespective of the fact that it wa a single bed. The wardrobe was jammed up against one side of the bed, there was very little room to manouvre at the end of the bed, a little better on one side. No tea/ coffee facilites - maybe due to the fact it was a guest house? The bathroom - again too small. Shower stall small - for a bigger person, this could be an issue. The sink in the bathroom is tiny - I had to remove a small glass shelf in order to even brush my teeth. The walls are very thin so I could hear otrher guests. There was an internal window...problematic as without black out blinds every time the light went on in the corridor it flooded my room. Oh and the door lock didnt turn - normally this would not be a concern - but as the other room doors were so close - this time it was. Would I recommend - No. Not even for a night unfortunately.
