Spotlessly clean, excellent staff at reception and breakfast room, especially Phillipa who gave us excellent information and guidance, couldn't have been more helpful, she must love her job as she was so pleasent. Good breakfast, had everything you need. Room was clean and quite for a good sleep in the centre of Porto. All tourist sites within walking distance of the hotel. Great hotel would highly recommend it.
Nothing to dislike. Previous reviews referred to worn carpet didn't effect us as you don't sleep on the carpet. If you want 5star then pay accordingly.

I was early and was able to drop my bag so it was more convenient to explore Porto. The location was centrally located and easy for me to find the Camino route the next morning.
My experience was without any issues. This was a bit on the pricey side but it was a good place for me to sleep off some of my jetlag.

The room was old, with old f5urniture and cramped. the small refrigerator was horrible as was the 12" TV. The chair was too low for the desk height. I had to put pillows on the chair to be at the proper height of the desk. After flying 3,500 miles from CA, this was a disappointment. The staff was good. They even offered me a different room for $25.00 more per night, but it wasn't worth it. The pictures on the website showed the room are bright, airy and wiith modern furniture. It was just the opposite. They need to remodel the place or show accurate pictures of the entire place. Finally, their printed material said they they would charge one-half days rent if you washed clothes in the bathroom. What a joke.

The hotel blocks a payment on your card before arrival and charges you again upon arrival. They mention they will refund you after but you need to pay twice. In addition, you need to leave your keys in the reception every time you leave the hotel. Lastly, the hotel has charged my card for a breakfast I did not consume. Bad experience overall.

The location was great and the front desk staff was nice, nothing amazing but they were nice.
My room was old and musty. The windows didn't stay closed, the doors were peeling, and it smelled like mold. The write-up on Booking.com said there was a restaurant and bar of which there was neither. They have a room where they serve breakfast but it's pictured online as if it's a happening place and it's completely unavailable to guests other than during breakfast, and only if you pay extra for that. And the breakfast is very minimal and not worth paying extra for.

Arriving early morning from cross-Atlantic flight, before room ready, I was welcomed warmly, offered use of large restroom and other space in lobby to change clothes and reorganize. Helpful directions/suggestions were offered for touring city, which I set off to do, leaving bag for check-in later. Location was quiet and fairly convenient, lively enough and very safe (stating as woman alone). All staff friendly. I'd go back!

The location was central fir walking around the city.
The room was tiny. It was extremely old. The furniture was outdated. The bathtub/shower was dangerously slippery without any nearby handicap safety hold bars to prevent falling in the shower. The reception person was asked for a rubber mat but it went over deaf ears. The room was not serviced for three days and not until a request for clean towels and trash removal was done after the third day. Actually the front desk seemed to be staffed by one man who was too preoccupied with his paperwork to give courteous concerns to his patrons. He seemed bothered when he was approached with questions or concerns.
I will not stay there again unless in a time of dire circumstances such as a war or an apocalypse. Never again otherwise!

Hotel is situated at an excellent location. Very friendly and smiling staff. I recommend Alexander who could even remember my room number every time I went to get the room key. Same breakfast every day. Didnt like it much. But the staff are friendly. However the room was very small, not even a single chair to sit when you don't want to be on the bed and want to sit up and relax. Smell like a open gutter in the bathroom though bathrooms are clean. I booked it long ago and recommend one other colleague to book here as well. She too booked a single room however she got a massive room with an additional area with a couch to relax for the same price.
Didn't like the room. It was very small.. Bathroom was having some bad odor like open gutter.. No chair to sit and relax. Pillows need to be a bit bigger than what you have currently to aid comfortable sleep. .. No lift till 9th floor where you can use it while going or coming back after breakfast, shiny steep cement steps.. I had a fall from the 9th floor down to 8th and now ended up in emergency department..

The staff is absolutely amazing! They're all so helpful and friendly. The location is also phenomenal! The breakfast is buffet style. The bed was comfortable and the room was big enough for what I needed. The room I got matched the photos I saw on the website.
The walls aren't soundproof at all, so you'll hear everything, EVERYTHING, your room neighbors say and do. The wifi is also unstable, it keeps going on and off. The rooms are clean and it shows that the cleaning ladies go there everyday, but they would definitely benefit from a good deep clean. The walls were a bit dirty and the ventilation was dusty.

It was easy to find the hotel from the train station and it is walking distance to many great restaurants and shopping. The reception was very friendly.
The traffic outside our room was very loud and it was hard to sleep. The air conditioner did not work so, we had to keep the window open.

Very quaint hotel with a great location and convenient to all of the areas we needed to walk to. They offered a nice continental breakfast on the top floor with some nice views of the city square. The front desk morning and evening staff were exceptional with their excellent suggestions. While some lower level rooms appeared to have been remodeled, our upper level room had not been remodel which didn't impact our great stay in the city.
Nothing really although parking was a bit of a challenge and a two hour limit was an issue. Underground parking garages were close by but presented a challenge given the rental van I had.

The location was great, walking distance to everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooftop breakfast and evening lounge had a great view from the 9th floor. The room was clean and had a mini bar. They let me leave my luggage after check out.
My room description said "courtyard view" but it was really a wall. The windows were frosted over, so there was no natural light or view of any kind. Very claustrophobic! I'm sure the exterior rooms were great but for the price, I would have expected better. The cocktails at the rooftop "bar" were sadly lacking... no ice available, only orange soda as a mixer. I stayed here because there was no other option, but would not stay here again.
