The staff were lovely and super friendly. Check-in and out super easy. The outdoor pool area and bar/restaurant set up is fab. For us it was lovely to be on a nature reserve and a little bit out of town. the free boat service over to the beach was also a nice addition. we only stayed one night so didn't really get to experience too much. The room was super clean and comfy and suited our needs perfectly. The buffet evening meal was super good value and good freshly cooked food. The a la carte restaurant food even better. And the rooftop bar pretty cool! I would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

The indoor spa area was nice enough, but not as good as the outdoor facilities. I am not sure if there was a shuttle service into town but i guess some people might not like being only driving distance from the main town centre.

We were staying 2 days but when we arrived we were told that we could not join the al a cart restaurant without 24 hours notice in person!
This was not the plan for my 48 hour birthday trip in Portugal.

Clean and modern design. The roof bar and pool offers excellent views of the coastline and town. Plenty of sunbeds to enjoy lounging around by the pool or the gardens. Some nice spaces inside the different accommodation blocks and seating with hammocks too so plenty of choices if you didn’t want to sit in the sun. The spa facilities were good with a hydro pool, heated pool and sauna and steam room alongside a lounge area. The gym was well equipped with the main cardio and weight machines as well as free weights, bench/step, stability balls and plenty of space for mat work. Great wash facilities too which includes showers. A lovely doable distance walk to the local town which offered a scenic boardwalk, with bars and shops along the route. Room had all you needed with housekeeping services daily. The food was good offering the usual varieties of proteins, pasta, vegan/vegetarian, breads, sweets, drinks. Two of the pool bars were closed but we still managed to get drinks without too much trouble. Water was provided around the hotel.
This is a decent sized hotel but just could use a little more space both inside and out to host additional activities and another smaller pool would be good . Evening entertainment was lacking along with a dedicated space/bar for gathering. The entertainment I saw on Friday was in the main bar next to the restaurant which was a walk through and often congested.

First of all the positives.
The view across the marsh to the ocean is lovely and the wild side gives it all its dimension.
The room was spacious and mostly clean.
I had a lovely treatment at the Spa, but also had a not so good one. So a bit of a mixed bag there.
And now a fair assessment of the negatives.
Food: an overall score of 5/10. Cold, tasteless, fruit from a can (surely Portugal has better to offer!), overcooked fish and meat… giving hospital or school canteen a run for their money.
All inclusive doesn’t have to be bad quality and badly prepared.
Service: while a few members of staff were smiley, the majority (especially the bar staff) were miserable buggers. Slow and rude service was basically the theme day in day out.
A very disorganised service, with a roof top bar closed all day, despite the roof terrasse being full of sun-bed users. And an overfull main restaurant at lunch time, where I was asked to come back later on two occasions.
Maybe if an other option for lunch was available that would make service more efficient?
Main pool was most bathed in by the seagulls… and not sure how well their deposits are fished out of there…
The drainage system of the hotel is clearly a challenge. The main lift had a constant smell of wee. Very unpleasant. It lasted the whole stay.
And the noise of drains was constant in the bedroom when other rooms were showering/ using the bathroom.
To the point that it woke me up in the middle of the night, and I am not a light sleeper at all.
I had to call reception one night to ask them to turn the corridor music off after 10pm as it was so load that I could hear it over the TV in my room. What purpose does that even serve? Absolutely baffling to have to complain about this to be honest as it is quite a basic level of hospitality.
Overall, would I come back? No. Would I recommend to others? Probably not.
It’s a shame as the place has potential, but the level of service and product offering is substandard. The staff need training, but before that maybe the management needs to understand what “good” should look like. It’s not because you slap 4 stars next to your name that you deliver that. Which probably explains the fairly attractive pricing.

The hotel was nice, there were good facilities. The staff were okay, not overly friendly.
We had checked in for our honeymoon after getting married 3 days previous. I told the hotel of this on booking, thinking that they may have given us a complimentary bottle of champagne or a congratulations. Nothing was mentioned on check in and we didn’t receive any congratulations of any kind, another thing that annoyed us was we were told to access the Al a carte resturant during our stay, however we had to book the night before at the main buffet at 7pm. We went down around 7:15 on our first night to book for the second night, it was booked out. The second night we didn’t try as we were going out for a meal, on the third night we tried to book again for the 4th night and we’re told there was an event on and the people booked for tomorrow night we’re accessing it on our last night so it was booked out. They didn’t tell us this on check in or during that stay therefor we didn’t get to access the Al a carte restaurant which was extremely annoying, it was purely the hotels fault

Excellent location, nice pool and areas for relaxing and very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice breakfast in pleasant surroundings, although same choices every day. Instant coffee/juice machines which were not at all pleasant.
Having visited this area on numerous occasions and admiring this hotel from afar we had high expectations. However immediately on arriving it was commented that we had booked with Booking.Com. The room we were allocated was small but expected for the price, however was located above the goods entrance to the back of the hotel which was very noisy. The bathroom and shower door did not close properly and there was quite a bit of dust in the room. Given the comment about Booking.Com when we checked in I really felt that we had been allocated an inferior room. All in all very disappointed in this hotel as we had high expectations.

The hotel is one of the many anonymous white concrete blocks, all identical, that have sprung up in recent years in Portugal, ruining the once-protected beautiful coastlines. There wasn’t a trace of children in the hotel, and the number of young people could be counted on one hand. I’m a “senior” myself, but I find the “adults only” policy of places like this depressing. The food was literally inedible, and the only decent coffee was the one served from 10 a.m. onward at the little bar in front of the reception.

The two outdoor pool areas were gorgeous. The staff were fantastic. Comfortable rooms. Lots of pool loungers and evening entertainment was lovely. It's a stunning hotel. We got a free upgrade which was great as we had a pool view. We all had massages too and they were brilliant. Gorgeous pianist at breakfast too. So relaxing. I am definitely coming back.
Ants all over the indoor pool area and the breakfast options were limited. Too much tinned fruit and not enough fresh fruit. Also the "Zumba" class was 100% not a Zumba class. It was a fun dance class that I enjoyed but definitely wasn't a Zumba class. I would be almost 100% certain the people giving the class are not zin members or had taken their B1 licence as classes are very specifically designed to give the participants a certain experience. This may cause problems for the hotel in the future as Zumba is a trademark name and only licensed instructors are allowed to give Zumba classes.

I above all liked the staff and how they try to overcome all the needs posed by their customers. The hotel is in a good place if you are there for beach and/or swimming pool.
The hotel is a bit noise in the nights with music a bit too loudy.

Rooms are a bit basic. The bar service was crazy, always 2 extremely slow people on the bar with about 20 people sometimes even arguing to try and get served. Whether it was 11am or 5pm it was the same, mad!

Nice rooftop and pool area, overall comfortable and beautiful area. Ok breakfast (except the coffee) and easy free parking.
The water in the shower did not drain and it flooded both the bathroom and the bed area. The bathroom was separated by a glass door and a see through curtain which wasn't great at keeping water either. Not sure if they give this type of rooms to couples as well, that would be "interesting". Alone it was ok. The wifi was so slow that it was unusable. Sauna was cold and kind of pointless but had a nice view.

AP Cabanas Beach and nature deserves it's 4 stars.
Rooms are small but adequate, food is varied if a smaller selection than other all inclusive buffets, the whole place is immaculate and location perfect.
The loose slabs around the pool need to be fixed promptly.

I didnt realize when I booked that this hotel is a typical all inclusive factory. Would I have known, I would've booked elsewhere.
It seems extremely crowded, where the common areas aren't as big. Restaurant for breakfast was often full, no where to sit, staff didn't realize. Quality of breakfast very low, little fresh fruits, mostly canned fruit. Scrambled eggs and omelets came from the carton box and waffles were taken out from plastic and warmed up. I've stayed in many cheaper hotels where the standard of breakfast was much higher, where they'd use fresh products
It wasn't a hotel where I felt i could relax at the property as it was overcrowded, full of people everywhere. It also felt a bit like buying with Ryan air, as we had to pay for everything extra we wanted, for standard things like water to the room, change of pool towel, and so on.
Hotel looks nice, quite modern, but feels too small for the number of people they put inside.

The pool and the atmosphere was awesome, quite clean hotel, and the breakfast and lunch/dinner options were great too - overall, a very nice experience.
Maybe its a local/culture thing, but reception staff can have a bit more energy while responding to our questions/queries. Also, I couldn't understand why swimming caps were mandatory for indoor pools - costs 5 euros each.

So much to do in one spot
Everything was a little broken- we didn’t have hot water for the first two days, the corners of the floors were not clean, the food was mediocre and not great. Lunch options are really poor. Breakfast was great which made it all more confusing.

The resort is pretty and the room’s view was really good. The breakfast is wonderful either way a lot of options.
The pool was always dirty. My room was not cleaned after I returned at 4 pm. There were ants everywhere. Also there are a lot of spaces closed due to the season. That is not shared at the time of the booking

We stayed at the hotel for two days. The lunch buffet on the first day was very good—everything was delicious. However, the lunch buffet on the second day was very disappointing and unacceptable.
The hotel feels quiet and lacks a vibrant atmosphere in low season.

Cold draft from the sliding doors and small leak at the bottom of the sliding door. We did have a heavy storm the night before though.
