A real gem in Cabanas de Tavira with first-line sea views from huge terrace. Family run pink property with 8 rooms managed by Livia. My 25 m2 large room was fresh and clean with a decent bathroom. The top floor has a common living room with fireplace, coffe maker and bigger TV. Simple but good breakfast in seperate brekfast room that is also Livia’s office. Very good value for money.
Nothing major really. As often in these properties there were not enough sockets, but Livia provided a power strip. I had some issues with a changed WiFi network, but this was also quickly solved by Livia. The radiators did not work so was a bit cold initially but the AC delivered heat after a while. The TV is very small, but a bigger one is in the common living room if need be.

Excellent breakfast, good choice, fresh fruit and local produce daily, freshly squeezed orange juice superb, and good strong coffee. better than a 4* hotel! Room was huge as was the bathroom. It was clean and the bed was lovely and comfortable. Livia was an excellent host and happy to advise on places to see in the local area, print out maps and directions, and recommend where to eat. Upstairs terrace and living room available to guests was an added bonus - lovely area to enjoy the sun and views across the bay. Riverfront property, and secure parking was an added bonus. Very happy to recommend Casa Viana as a brilliant place to stay. We will certainly stay there again.
Wifi was a bit patchy in our room. However, it was available in the courtyard, breakfast room and upstairs terrace/living room.

We had stayed in a host of larger hotels across the Algarve, and chose Casa Viana, because we knew that it would be completely different, small, homey, sincere, with extremely warm owner and her brother. A real Portuguese Guesthouse. Each morning lovely breakfasts were offered. In the last century, the current owner's grandfather had used it as a factory for processing Octopuses. Boats to the island are just outside the door, and there are countless restaurants and bars just down the street.
There was nothing that we didn't like about this charming guesthouse. It didn't offer any "bells and whistles" like larger places, but we didn't expect those, and were happy just the way it was. The small parking lot behind the Guesthouse might be filled during summer months; but since not many rooms are available for rent, that might not be a problem.

Olivia was most welcoming when we arrived and a brilliant host. Our room was clean, comfortable and exactly as described on the website. The breakfast was superb, with fresh fruit, interesting breads and homemade yogurt and jams. The location was wonderful, only a few steps to the beach ferry boat and lots of lovely restaurants and a supermarket in the vicinity.

The location virtually on the waterfront was excellent and just round the corner from some great bars and restaurants. Buffet Breakfast provided was fresh and very tasty with freshly squeezed orange juice, cereal, cheeses, coffee etc. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly.

Breakfast was very good.
The owner went over and above during our stay, providing plates, cutlery etc for our lunch on the terrace. Along with cakes and even a glass of port each afternoon. Simply fab.
Being picky, the shower area could do with a refresh but this does not diminish the overall experience in any way.

The host was kind, the location is perfect, the breakfast was yummy and diverse. We were there in the offseason and so were the only guests and they did not skimp on anything. It was peaceful there because of the season, but right on the coast, a minute walk from the ferries to the bordering island with beautiful beaches. An outdoor rooftop patio. Parking. Lovely little beach town near historic Tavira.

Lívia is a fantastic host. This is a property with such a strong history and connection to Cabanas. Lovely breakfast with local products. Right on the shoreline with a lovely terrace overlooking Ria Formosa. Will come again and definitely recommend.
