Location is spectacular right in heart of the old town near the castle, churches to visit, the bridge, restaurants etc. Going back in time is wonderful too. The property is beautiful. Pool is fantastic and super chill. Breakfast is excellent and plentiful with a lot of variety of local foods. The cheeses were to die for ?!
Hotel is truly wonderful but the lack of replacement of amenities in both nespresso capsules/tea and in bathroom (lotion) is disappointing and surprising. For a 5 star hotel I would expect automatic daily replenishment. Breakfast is a late start at 8am so for early risers and those looking to make the first beach ferry that leaves at 8:30am a 7am or 7:30am start would be best.

Beautifully set in an old convent but made luxurious. Right in the centre of Tavira but set up the hill so not noisy at all. Exquisitely comfortable bed and room clean and comfortable with excellent bathroom facilities. Pool area lovely. Did not experience breakfast or any other meals as stay was very short- just passing through, but would definitely stay there again

We really enjoyed our time here. Hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the train station. All very tranquil with a lovely ambiance. Only a short walk into town where there are quite a few bars and restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were very friendly. The room was great too. Tavira is well worth a visit if you’re visiting the Algarve.

The history and location were nice. The room was clean and nice but we had a broken window and phone. The front desk person was very nice and offered us a different room but it did not have a window to open since it was handicap room. We were too hot to not have a window. So we had to have the swing window open all the way and it was still hot. I didn’t sleep well because of that. It was early March so just keep that in mind if you find yourself to run hot know that AC does not work this time of year as they have a central unit inside of individual. Otherwise very nice place with onsite parking. We had a good dinner here as well.staff was very nice.

Love the location and the historic nature of the entire building and area. Just beautiful! We were upgraded to a suite with 2 rooms. It was by far the largest accommodations we had on our entire trip to Portugal and Spain. The front desk staff was fantastic- friendly and helpful. They gave us excellent recommendations for local activities and restaurants! Lovely pool area!
I wasn’t overly impressed with the breakfast. Although there was an extensive selection of food, it just wasn’t the quality that I expected. We ate breakfast out on the second day at a small French bakery with delicious coffee and croissants.

The room was disappointing. While we were not expecting the nicest room, we were hoping for something a little nicer since it was our honeymoon. The room was not particularly comfortable- from the bed to a relative lack of AC (unless we left the windows open for air and mosquitoes). On our last morning, we had to catch an early train and were told we would be given a complimentary boxed meal. The gesture was nice but the food was so below the standards of the food served at breakfast - stale, sad sandwiches, a cookie as hard as a rock. We would have rather just gotten breakfast on the train, so it was a disappointing way to end to our stay.

Asked for toothpaste, none available at front desk, told it would be sent to room. Never came. 3. Cut my foot on bathtub stopper (middle of tub has non-slip material, stepped toward the front and slipped forward. Mentioned to manager, who offered sympathy and said they could provide bandaids. Next day asked for extra bandaids and another person started to give me directions to the pharmacy. When I said I had gotten some before, she said we don’t have many before begrudgingly opening the first aid kit.

We had a lovely room with a balcony. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and two dinners. Also snacks at the pool. The town is a new favorite and we will return.
It was a bit of a walk to most places we wanted to see.

Unique and pretty property. Great location.
The pool was too cold to use but was lovely to sit beside in the sun. The courtyard and different areas of the hotel were beautiful and the staff was wonderful and very helpful
The rooms were quite tight for 2 people and quite warm with no temp controls.

I loved the gorgeous historic architecture and the location. I also liked the ease of parking right on property.
Of course it is an old property so there was a little mustiness in the room but still very fine.
