The staff are friendly and helpful.
Great location on the beach and a very short walk to restaurants, bars and shops etc.
Lively area with live music, karaoke late into the night.
The only thing we didnโt really like was that there were a number of people smoking joints around the pool area.
Obviously itโs perfectly legal in Thailand but this is a family resort and there were lots of small children around.
In other places weโve stayed it hasnโt been allowed. But maybe something to consider if youโre travelling with little ones.

I paid the property to do my laundry, I paid them for 4 kilos of laundry, I got back 2 kilos of laundry. They list several hundred dollars of my clothes. Then they refused to reimburse me for the loss, then the manager threatened to call the police on me. THEY ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE STAFF.

Our room was cleaned daily, the staff were lovely and efficient.
Breakfast was good, I really liked the muesli options.
A lot of people reserve sunbeds and then just walk off - that really shouldnโt be permitted.
We stayed in the building at the verrry back of the property (all room numbers are 400 something) and you can hear the loud music from the clubs on the street. I tried to request a different room before we arrived but this wasnโt granted, so that was pretty frustrated. Iโd certainly stay again but Iโd make sure I was given a room in a different block.

Very quiet location despite being so close to the buzz of the Lamai main street. Easy walking distance to an array of bars and restaurants. Onsite parking. The hotel was in a perfect location, the beach, shops, restaurants, cafes, everything is within a few minutes' walk. The room was cleaned every day, new towels, new clean sheets every day. We received special towels for the pool - a big plus!!! The staff was friendly and professional. I really liked my stay at the hotel and would recommend it to everyone.
I didn't like that the eggs and sausages were cold at breakfast (but that's why you have the service to order eggs separately if you wish).
Perhaps the hotel could invest in new umbrellas at the pool

The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful, they arranged for a taxi to be waiting for us when we arrived at the airport which was great.
Good selection at breakfast.

Breakfast was the normal hotel breakfast but with a few extras like muesli thus made me happy also coffee machine instead of boiled revolting normal coffee. Pool are was great with lots of loungers so never hard to find one. Pool towels provided and great bar service. Nice easy walk to Main Street with lots of restaurants and bars and shopping. Highly recommend this hotel, will definitely stay again if we are ever back in Lamai.

The hotel is on a beautiful beach, and the pool area and beach are lovely. The staff are super friendly. The hotel garden is also charming. The hotel is located on a quiet side street, and just a few steps away is the main street with many different places to eat. However, the beds deserve praise โ the mattresses are nice and firm. The cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, were excellent, and the breakfast was delicious.
Unfortunately, the rooms are dark and rather tired and worn. The rooms could use some renovation, lighter tones, new doors, and warmer lighting. The towels also need to be replaced. Only the beach towels were fine.

We liked the location of this hotel, directly on a really nice beach where we could go on long walks. The water was warm. Lots of loungers to sit on, both on sand and around the pool. Several umbrellas for the sun. They also provide rain umbrella, which were super handy as it rained every day we were there but one. The grounds are lush and beautiful and pretty well maintained. Walkable area with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. The food we ordered from the restaurant was all really good, and the staff was really nice, although mostly shy and not engaging.
We really wanted to love this hotel and area, but we just didn't. We were there celebrating our 20 year anniversary and it didn't feel special at all. We were kind of excited walking through the grounds when we were first taken to our room (lush and beautiful grounds, adorable bungalows) but so disappointed when we walked in. Ugly, sparse, just not your typical Thai esthetics. At least it was a good size. It rained so much during our stay, and we didn't want to spend any time in our ugly room (couldn't even read on our porch because of the MOSQUITOES), so the only option was the restaurant. The bathroom was terrible, especially the shower; you couldn't just stand under it as it sprayed directly on the wall at the other end of the large stall, you had to hand hold it to get the water on your body (and not just the back of your head). The whole place just felt neglected and a little depressing. Definitely not as cute as the listing photos (those were probably taken years ago). We walked around town a bit (with umbrellas) and that was sad & depressing too. The vibe very much felt like older-white-guys-trying-to-score-younger-Thai-women... Also tons of weed shops. No judgment on either, but not at all what. my husband and I were looking for on our vacation.

The breakfast was excellent. Wonderful restaurant with full seaside view. Poll area and beach was very clean. No issues with access to lounge chairs. Beach was beautiful to walk, it never felt overly crowded with many casual beach bars and restaurants.
Although it was not super loud, we could hear the music from a nearby bar until 3 or 4 am - best to bring ear plugs if this would be an issue

Tarn,Am, and Jamila went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable upon our arrival. They assisted us with excursion choices and transportation around the island. We definitely recommend staying at the Hive and hope to return in the near future.

It was close to a lot of great place to eat and drink.
I would like an omelette bar for the breakfast buffet. It was a very good breakfast though the precooked eggs were not great.
