The location is great, right beside the train station and car park so accessibility couldn't be better. Also very close to the Brighton Lanes too. The hotel bar in the lobby was well stocked too if you fancied a drink. Rooms were acceptably clean
The noise and light pollution in our room wasn't great - there was lots of noise coming from the corridor & AC unit and the curtains did not do a good job of blocking out the light. Cleaner left a wet towel on our bed and missed some rubbish lying around the room.

In short, good aesthetics, average to less than average quality of everything from the breakfast food to the bed linen.
The heating didn't work. The shower head was short so that it was impossible to take a shower without having to wash your hair, the way the shower curtain was installed meant that the bathroom floor got very wet every time you use the shower. The TV is so old that the cast app on it doesn't work with our not very new phones.

I was given an accessible room that I hadn't asked for, surprised that the room has a bath/shower rather than a shower unit or wetroom. I don't have a problem getting in and out of the bath but others may struggle. You can get a rubber bathmat from reception if needed.

It’s very dirty!! There is hair everywhere on the sink and in the bath. The office chair was also very dirty. Empty mugs infront of the door. Stains on carpet. When we complained we were upgraded to a bigger room which also wasn’t that clean but cleaner than the previous one!

All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. They seemed genuinely happy to engage with us. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. Lovely showers. The breakfast selection was among the best I've seen. Well presented and hot.
We ate in the restaurant twice and the meals were lovely. Once again, the waiting staff were chatty and helpful.
The only problem I had was that the comfortable seats in the reception/bar area were all very low. I have poor mobility in my knees and only had the option of standing, sitting at the dining tables or perching on the arms of the chairs. A few higher, comfy seats would have been lovely.
The heating/air con was difficult to work out -the room was a little cold in the evening.
Drinks were a bit pricey.

This is the 3rd year in a row I have stayed here after completing the London to Brighton bike ride. Staff are very accommodating with bikes and the breakfast is always very good with a great selection including gluten free options for my partner. Bar staff, reception and all staff always make us feel very welcome and are always on hand. very close to the train station and some great bars and restaurants very close by too. Rates are also very reasonable for the service and quality provided.
There is nothing I don't like about this hotel.

Checked in online, but still felt the check in with reception was too long. It should record that I've been there before. I had a nice stay at the hotel- the check in staff were lovely and allowed me to have access to my room early as well as combine two bookings which I am very grateful for. The hotel's location is perfect and metres away from the train station which was ideal for me as I had a train to catch when I checked out. The room itself was comfortable and spacious with air conditioning and a decent sized bathroom with bathtub. The mirror was steam proof too which was a nice feature. Breakfast was fine but maybe not the high quality I would expect for a hotel of this standard.
The biggest issue was the lack of an in-room safe. This really needs to be addressed.

The room - cosy and clean. The bed was so comfortable and it was quiet - no outside noise and the black out curtains helped for a really good night's rest. I loved the smell of the shower gel too!
The shower knob fell off but I reported it. This was a minor. Can't complain as unlike some places, the show water was hot instead of lukewarm!

good location to the station, facilities were fine and as expected. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately there were clothes left in the room I was staying in. On a positive the staff quickly sorted this out and dealt with the problem very well.

Breakfast was quite good, staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and modern. Water was hot.
The bathroom sink was blocked and there was a strong smell of air freshener in the bar/lobby area. Some of the sliced fruit and salad wasn't fresh at breakfast though the rest was good.

The bed extremely comfortable. everything is very clean. Housekeeping clean without disrupting your belongings.
This time i requested a room with a bath rather than a shower and was very happy they allocated me one. However, the bath was very narrow, so not very comfortable, and this type of room didn't come with the coffee pod machione I had enjoyed the previous time I stayed.

I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel and would not recommend it.
First, the staff attitude was unprofessional and unhelpful, especially at reception. Simple requests were met with indifference, and at times the staff member I dealt with was rude and dismissive. There was no effort to resolve issues or show basic customer care.
Second, the customer service overall was extremely poor. Problems were reported during the stay, but no action was taken. There was no follow-up, no apology, and no sense that guest satisfaction mattered at all.
Finally, the level of cleanliness was unacceptable. The room was not properly cleaned on arrival — surfaces were dusty, the bathroom was not hygienic, and housekeeping standards were far below what is expected from a hotel. This made the stay uncomfortable and disappointing.
For the price paid, I expected a much higher standard in terms of service, professionalism, and cleanliness. Unfortunately, this hotel failed in all three areas. I will not be returning and would advise others to consider alternative options.
