A former coaching inn run by the Woolcock family for over 100 years, The Commercial is well known locally for its great food and warm Cornish welcome. Interesting place to explore in close proximity to the Guest houses are Tradstract Gallery, Cape Cornwall Golf Club, Kemijack, Levant Mine, Geevor Tin Mine, The Levant Steam Engine, Pendeen Lighthouse, Trengwainton Garden, Lesingey Round, Porthcurno Museum and others.
Comfortable clean room, with double glazing keeping the noise down. Breakfast was excellent. It’s a nice pub with lots of different areas for eating and drinking. Staff friendly and professional.

The room was very comfortable, although a bit small, with an ensuite shower and toilet. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was very nice. Although not included in the price, I also had dinner there both nights and both meals were delicious. The pub was family-friendly and the Sunday afternoon gig in the beer garden topped off a very enjoyable stay.
The room was a bit small, but that is really minor compared to all the positive things. I would recommend The Commercial to anyone visiting St Just.

The room was tastefully done with attention to detail in the design. Eg. wardrobe doors slid smooth and a clip held them from stopping before banging. The mirror was placed perfectly to give a full view. Linnen was of good quality and everything was well maintained. Furniture was just what one required. It was very proportionate too. The room ambience was perfect and restful.

The room facing market square was quite light at night a pelmet above the good curtains would ensure a dark room. A deadbolt on the door would enhance nightime security.

The room was clean and had a beautiful view out onto the town square with the Christmas tree and decorations it was really quite magical. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was fine and good value given that it was included in the price of the room. Contact with the staff was minimal but friendly enough.
The wall between the rooms arn't the thickest so when you have someone who snores loudly next door like we did, you can hear everything. Fortunately snoring was the only thing going on! A bit of noise too when the bar downstairs empties out but that is to be expected.

When we arrived, it was very cold, and the heating had not been turned on in our room. The barman explained how to turn it on, and all was good. Spare blankets in the bedroom would have been good as it was very cold.

The room and en suite bathroom were clean. Beds were comfy, perfect for those hiking along the South West Coast Path like us. Delicious breakfast, and the hotel’s restaurant also offered good dinner options. Staff were also very helpful in dealing with a personal request post-checkout, which was very much appreciated!
The hotel restaurant seemed understaffed for Saturday evening of our stay, which meant it took a while to get our orders; we abandoned having dessert, but this wasn’t really a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

We checked in a little earlier, which was no problem as we were immediately given our room key. There was no private car park and, as we are both in our seventies, we initially had to park on the wide pavement outside just by the front door to offload our luggage, which drew criticism from local pedestrians. There were double yellow lines all around and so we were able then to park for free in the town car park a couple of hundred yards away, which was good. We booked an evening meal and were very pleasantly surprised by the dining area in the conservatory, which was really lovely, and this led to a lovely extensive garden with a large patio with tables. These amenities are not initially obvious upon entering the hotel !! Food was excellent, both breakfast and evening meal were great experiences with very helpful and friendly staff. The room was clean and comfortable and as our room overlooked the street, there was a very useful blind which, when raised upwards from the window sill, protected our privacy, but still let the daylight in. All in all, a very pleasant stay in a very interesting little Cornish town.
We entered through the front door from the street and first impressions from the hallway were not great, as it was dark and led to a gloomy corridor with the stairs straight ahead. We did not realise until later that the corridor actually led to a beautiful light and airy dining area and garden, both full of plants, which was a revelation..

The woman who owns it is exceptionally friendly and helpful with directions. The food was very good and the dining room has lots of light coming from the skylights, even on cloudy days.
No grab bar in the shower where we stayed across the street.
