The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast and the food in general was excellent. The location meant we could walk to everywhere so that was really good for us.
The hotel was cold! The automatic double doors to reception were broken so that area and the open plan bar and restaurant were freezing despite the efforts of staff who put portable heaters in the area.

I did not eat at the hotel either in the evening or breakfast, as I had brought my Grandson back to Uni in Portsmouth and we went out to eat before I travelled home the next day.
I did not get a double bed that I requested. I had two single beds that looked like that could have been put together to make a double. Otherwise everything else was ok.

It’s really convenient for the ferry port. We had a lovely time in the bar with great food.
There was just one issue. There was a real draft coming through our window. Probably a weak seal in the window. It doesn’t alter our opinion of the hotel though. Just something which maybe needs a repair.

Ideal location for walking to the Spinnaker tower and to the historic dockyard, which means you can leave your car knowing it's safe and secure in the car park. You do for have to pay £5 per night, but that's cheaper than paying for parking in you were to drive to the docks. The hotel is bright and clean. We got asked on our 2nd day if we wanted clean towels & our room cleaned, which we didn't but nice little touch. Pool is a decent size with a jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna. As a guest, you get given a towel to return at the end of your swim. You didn't need to pay a deposit for like other hotels we've stayed in. Changing rooms were clean, and there was a spin dryer for wet swimming costumes. Pool was never overly busy, so I was able to swim lengths on each of the three times I visited. Excellent breakfast with a great choice of cooked and continental foods. They even had takeaway cups so you could take a coffee back to your room or out with you first the day. If we are in the area again, will we definitely stay again.
We decided to eat at the hotel the first night as I'd had a long drive & didn't feel like walking to the docks to all the restaurants. Wish we hadn't. The waitress seemed to choose who she wanted to tell that there was a service charge. Knowwhere on the menu, does it state this or on any signs. By the time I heard her choosing to tell some people, mainly men. We had already started eating. Food is very basic and overpriced for what it was, plus the service charge ontop. This is the only thing that spoilt our trip.

Room was nice and tidy. Breakfast that we received was nice. Bar area nice and tidy with plenty of room. Water was lovely in shower.
The phone in room was very dated, buttons missing and you had to guess which one for reception as no markings. We had breakfast delivered to room, some items were missing, also had to phone to see where it was as was late. Air con didn't seem to work. Cocktail list could do with updating and not bottled cocktails especially for 9.95. shame about no fridge in room.

The room was good and clean, although the window wasn't properly sealed and the wind was whistling through.
Got to the pool/ spa at 7pm - its closing time was 8pm. There was no-one on duty so had to get another member of staff to find someone to let us in. We were then told that there were no towels, the jacuzzi was out of action and the sauna was about to close. Had to go back up to my room to get towels so only got back into the spa by 7.15/7.20 and was then told by the member of staff that he wanted to go home and I couldn't use the sauna as he was closing it. I can appreciate they may have been short staffed but I am afraid it was rotten service by the young man on duty. The staff in the restaurant/ bar were really nice and friendly, but in this instance I am afraid the food was dreadful!
