Bed was very small for a double with only a 4ft 6 bed. Breakfast was basic and they couldn’t keep up with demand so it was not possible to get hot food as it simply ran out every time I tried.

Hotel was having work done so room corridors were a pretty shabby. Room cleanliness was a problem, cups appeared to have diswasher scum on them the bathroom had very visible limescale and a toilet basin that looked like no cleaning agent used. Only stayed one night and didnt complain, so I don't know if this would have been rectified if I did.

If you're going to Portsmouth to see historic ships, this is a great place to stay. It's one block from both the museum entrance and a parking garage - very convenient. The staff is friendly and the rooms comfortable. There is an interesting reading room with artifacts and books on the maritime trades, which was a bonus for me.

The staff, the foyer. Room was cosy.

Approaching the room, the corridor was very tatty, hanging cabling, rubbish pieces on the floor. Clearly it’s being refurbished, but looks dreadful. The electricity in our room had not been turned back on. With the aid of a torch we found the switch in a cupboard. Noisy footfall going along the corridor at night meant little sleep. Breakfast. Plates were warmed, but the food was tepid.

The property was exceptionally clean and is a really nice inside. There is some parking outside available. The location of the hotel is fantastic it’s only a few minutes walk to the Gun wharf Quays. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had the breakfast included in our stay and it was very nice and plenty of choice. The rooms are very large in comparison to many hotel rooms, the bed was very comfortable and a good nights sleep could be had.

My only one issue was the room was very warm and I couldn’t see anywhere to turn the heating down. This was easily solved by opening the window slightly.

Location is good, close to the harbour and other places of visit. Staff was incredibly friendly, especially breakfast staff. Very helpful and ready to help with anything. Pleasant and smiling. Small car park, which is bonus for the location. Quiet hotel. Clean.

Room was small, very old and in need of urgent revamp. I could see old stains on the fabric bed frame. All hotel is old, which is not an issue, but it needs investing and modernising. No air conditioning in the room, and with windows opening just a little, it was really hot in the room. TV only has channels, no Netflix or Amazon. No room for a small fridge. Swimming pool (would call it a hot tub instead) is really tiny. Jacuzzi wasn't available and had no water in it. No sauna (we were told there is one).

We were upgraded free of charge to a lovely, spacious room with plenty of biscuits, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. Everything was very new. The bathroom was large with a bath and shower, plus shower gel, lotion, shower cap. The staff were polite, friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was plentiful and good quality and we were particularly impressed that when we checked in to breakfast, they asked if we would like vegetarian sausages (we had written that in the comments on booking) and how many. The location was very convenient for the Harbour and Gunwharfe Quays but it was only a short walk to the city centre.

The windows were rather dirty in the corridor going to our room but that was not really a problem.

The location of the hotel is excellent for the historic ships, gunwharf keys and the sea front. Our room was basic however it was really clean, quiet,lovely and warm and the bed was very comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly.

the corridors connecting the rooms/floors were tired they could have done with a update and a bit of tlc, the room could have done with some artwork on the wall. Just a bit too bare.

The venue was beautiful and the room was clean and comfortable. It was really good value and the breakfast was excellent. Great choices for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Staff were really friendly and helpful and we even managed to get the last parking space which was free to use. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend!

Pool was a little small and the sauna and jacuzzi were not working.

The bed was amazingly comfy. Great price for the location and the standard of comfort in the hotel. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We were positively surprised by how nice our room was. We had a kettle, tea, coffee and two biscuits in our room and the stuff refilled the used biscuits.

The breakfast was alright but more on the british side. It would have been nice to have at least some regular bread options available. If you like stuff like beans and sausages for breakfast it is probably amazing.

The staff were very polite and friendly. I had a roast on Sunday which tasted lovely and the location was right near the station. Room was lovely warm and clean. The shower was fantastic. Breakfast was also wonderful.

Nothing not to like. If I was to knit pic I would just say the swede in the roast was extremely salty. But that is just personal preference. I hate salt

We loved that it was close to where we needed to go and the price for 2 nights was excellent. Rooms clean and tidy. Lovely, quiet and clean atmosphere as you walk into the hotel.

The pillows were the worst we’ve ever had from a hotel. I know it doesn’t sound like much but they were almost like a bean bag feeling and pretty much empty, even sleeping with two pillows it was like we were still laying flat. As good as the location is, a room at the front of the hotel wasn’t great as it’s on a very busy main road and it’s noisy at night.
