This is a lovely market town on the edge off the new forest.The hotel was delightful very welcoming good food.very pleasant. This visit was due to a close friend being incredible poorly in Southampton hospital, our stay in white swan make out visit easier under the circumstance and allow us to relax in between visiting our friend in hospital. Very nice having some where to chill!Having traveled a long distance to see our friend. Both off us left ready for our long journey home.

The staff were excellent - they always smiled, had great eye contact and were genuinely interested in helping us have a great stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The property was quirky and interesting - you could tell it was a historic building but the facilities were all up to date within, and clean, well maintained and gorgeously appropriate.
In the room we had a kettle and tea bags and a coffee maker with pods, which is great, but we could have done with some instant coffee sachets (coffee makers confuse me although I would have worked it out or asked if we had been staying longer). Otherwise the facilities were excellent.

The breakfasts were substantial with plenty of choice.The Sunday roast was exceptionally tasty, especially the potatoes which were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The location was perfect, close to shops and many attractive historical buildings especially the Abbey. It was a joy to hear the bells pealing on Sunday evening.

Lounge spaces lovely.
Car park not on site, but only 2 minutes away and cheap, so that was fine.
Shutting the lounge spaces in the evening was disappointing, even though they weren't in use.

The way we were greeted, the comfortable room, the Christmas card & gift, so festive! The breakfasts were excellent. The location was perfect & close enough for us to have breakfast & then attend the Christmas service in the glorious Abbey. All on all a delightful stay.

Loud music late and we were at the back and they had a Scottish theme and they were playing loud music and singing it finished at 2300 then someone opened the doors and they continued again and it was even louder.

Breakfast was excellent - we chose the hot option although the buffet choice looked pretty good. I had a full English which was brilliant, and my partner chose Eggs Benedict which was also excellent. As a coeliac, he has to be careful, but we found all staff very knowledgeable on the subject, and happy to help. We also dined in the restaurant in the evening, and the same was true. Excellent food and service. Perfectly situated right in the middle of Romsey, with a carpark just behind the hotel.
