The room was lovely with a great view of the back garden which was beautiful. The hosts Mike and Lynn were very nice and always helpful. Breakfast in the morning was brilliantly cooked with local produce. The accommodation was very close to shops and eating places and near bus

Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The dining room was also spotless and the breakfast offered a good variety, was well cooked and very tasty. We liked that we could park at the property and the very short walk into Windermere itself. Our hosts were very helpful and courteous.
We liked everything about this property.

The room was comfortable and very clean, breakfast was excellent, garden was lovely to sit in during the evening, minimal traffic came down the lane, the main road was only at the top of a short lane. Buses can be found at the top of the lane to go into Bowness, or the tour bus which takes you round the area.
On our two day stay, nothing would a made our stay any better, all was excellent from the moment we arrived until we left.

The guesthouse is absolutely lovely; Mike and Lynne take great pride in looking after you. The rooms are well appointed, clean, and furnished to a high standard. My wife particularly enjoyed the high quality toiletries provided.
The breakfast options were excellent, including the homemade bread, which was delicious.
Mike and Lynne were attentive, and gave excellent tips on where to go and how to get there. We'd love to visit again.
If, like us, you're keen on a mid afternoon snooze before going out of an evening, I'd request a room on the first or second floor. The ground floor can be a little noisy in the afternoon, as the team are sorting out stuff, and people are checking in. Same goes for when breakfast activity begins are about 8am.

Mike and Lynn were amazing hosts, and the home-cooked breakfast was just the best start for the day - especially for the local raspberries jam and Mike’s cooking. The pickup point for Mountain’s Goats tours is just a 5-minute walk, and Bowness is a nice 20-min walk. Quiet location, great for relaxing.
I think the 5-star rating might look a bit misleading, if comparing the facilities offered by other types of accommodations, but this rating system is inconsistent and changes in every country. Services are correctly listed on the website, when in doubt, and the hosts are very responsive in the chat.

Struggled a little with where to put toiletries/make up as no shelf in bathroom and little mirrored shelf in bedroom was too small. That’s the only niggle.

Clean rooms in a great location on the lake. Good location for exploring the Lake District.
Enough breakfast to last until lunch.
It was agreed with the owners of the hotel that breakfast would be served every day at 8.15.
Had we not received this approval we would not have booked this place, breakfast time was very important to our program.
Upon arrival, we realized that not everything is so simple. "Early breakfast" we received only on the first morning, the next 2 days at 8.15 no one was waiting for us and without explanation. It was amazing to say the least...
If your English is not at the level of your native language, then you feel very uncomfortable, the hostess did not really try to understand us....

We stayed here recently for 3 nights in room 8. Everything about this place is absolutely fabulous! We have stayed in various places in Windermere and this is by far the best. The room was superb, extremely comfortable, beautiful bathroom with high spec toiletries, the attention to detail was incredible. The breakfast setting and quality of food was outstanding and the hosts Mike and Lynn were lovely, their wealth of local knowledge was an added extra. I would definitely recommend this guest house, probably one of the best we have stayed in ever, a hidden gem. We will be back for sure! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

I absolutely loved the place because it’s family-owned, with only nine rooms. The family themselves take care of the guests — they’re incredibly friendly and helpful.
What makes it even more special is that the family personally prepares the breakfast, and they do it wonderfully. The food is absolutely delicious, well-presented, and organised. We’re asked to select our breakfast choices from a menu the day before, which makes everything smooth and efficient.
I was also really impressed with the toiletries provided — the hand wash and lotion were both of excellent quality and smelled amazing.
What I didn’t like about the place was the absence of a lift. We were placed on the top floor, and I had two very heavy suitcases. I felt quite upset and sorry that the owner himself had to carry them all the way up. It made me feel really embarrassed.

Beautiful grounds, lovely room, close to train station, food gd.
I did not like that you couldn’t start breakfast until 830 am as my tours started at 9:00 so essentially you had to eat in 5 minutes. No fun rushing through a meal. Also other than the traditional English breakfast, you couldn’t choose more than one main course…and that might be eggs…without toast. I was hungry and was unfulfilled most breakfasts.
