The hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast included was very good. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The fitness center was clean and all equipment was operational.

The fitness center was small, with only one treadmill and one of each other option. This was not a problem, because no one else was in there, but could be an issue if more people wished to use it. We paid a higher price than would otherwise be acceptable, because of high demand for the days we were in town. On a normal weekend, the value would have been much better. The hotel is located a bit distant from the center of town and from the airport, which could be a problem.

Breakfast was good. The lady running it was super nice. It was far enough off the highway that it wasn’t loud.

The location is very iffy. It’s riddled with homeless people and next to a questionable abandoned building. There was a homeless man waiting in the parking lot one of the nights we got in. They charged a DAILY deposit which is absolutely insane and not mentioned anywhere. We stayed 3 nights so we were charged THREE deposits. So prepare for that. It smelled like moth balls so bad it was pretty unbearable. It’s a very old, dingy hotel. And you get charged a tourist fee for I guess all the beautiful homelessness and threatening graffiti so… it was definitely interesting.

Drove up from Harlingen for a MD appt. Stayed one night in a king room with our dog. Everything was clean, comfortable and staff were very friendly! They had two areas available to take my dog out with dog waste stations! Had a hot breakfast in the morning too-eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and waffles. Bonus: I accidentally left my wedding ring and earrlings in the room and did not notice until after we were more than halfway back to Harlingen. called the hotel adn they had my jewelry and I was able to send them a shipping label for them to mail it to me- very thankful for this and the staff I talked to were vbery helpful and kind!

Pillows were very, very soft and hard to have good head and and neck support, even with two of them.
