The lifts are very efficient, staff helpful, rooms comfortable.
The restaurant/bar hours could have been longer. One of the meals we had in the Last Hurrah was particularly bad - very oily - but we were given a Boston Cream Pie as a consolation. There was no way of making tea in the room unless you requested a kettle. Most coffee machines can provide hot water, but this one couldn't.

Beautiful and elegant lobby and restaurant and bar. The staff was helpful and courteous. But the room was very very small. I’ve stayed at several cheaper hotels in Boston and the rooms were much larger. The closet was so small I could barely hang my clothing. No dresser a few small shelves in the closet. We lived out of our suitcase. Very disappointed!!

Oh my goodness, I loved staying here. Everyone was so helpful and kind to us the whole time, and the location was absolutely perfect! Boston Common (and access to the T) just a block or so away. The beds were comfortable and I was able to keep the room cool even in 95 degree weather.
If I had to pick something not to like, the only thing I can think of might be the space in the room, but I was aware of what I was getting into going in. There is room for one person to walk at the foot of the bed and not much else, so if you really really need your space, it could be an issue. But it was me, my husband, and our two kids in our room and we were honestly fine.

It has quite a history and is also on a freedom trail. If you are into history of the city, everything will be near you.
Hotel is old, rusty and dusty. Also during our stay the road repairs were going on the whole night and we couldn’t sleep. The next day they changed the room, but instead of the view of the historic part we had a wall in front of our windows.

The lights of the bathroom stop working suddenly, with no reason. We contacted the front desk but it took 1,5 hours to fix it. We were getting ready for a concert and this issue caused a lot of stress on us.

Location is very convenient for sightseeing. All of the staff members I encountered were so friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful and the bed is one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in.
Bathroom is very small, but to be expected in a historic building. I wish they had more than one towel hook, though.

Pretty much everything! Location is perfect; can walk everywhere. When booked, did not know there was a ghost, and that this is where Boston cream pie and Parker House rolls began! That added to the fun!! The staff was great, and the “gift shop” also has Starbucks (with food items) as well as a variety of travel necessities.
Slightly over-priced, including the restaurant. And the elevators were a little slow, not sure all were working.

I specifically asked for a low down room as I have a heart condition and I do not like lifts. They put us in the top floor, majorly disappointed. The air also was so loud.

Location is excellent plenty to do and see in the area. The room is more than adequate for a work trip and very clean. Bed was a little stiff for my liking but the overall experience from the check-in to check-out including the food in the restaurants was overall excellent.

Such a romantic, historical hotel, perfect for a night away together. I loved the hydration station on our floor, SO easy and convenient to get ice, water, or coffee/tea. The room itself was so cozy, and the entertainment system was a huge bonus and made us cancel our plans to stay in!
Our toilet ran all night and wouldn't flush. Also, the only parking was across the street and cost us $90 for a one-night hotel stay! It was valet only, and great service, but not accessible whatsoever if you're not able to comfortably walk.
