Quan was excellent at providing our room when arriving and our room was very clean. It's not fancy but very clean and love the long mirrors. It's right near all the main shops and bars, and the hiking places were also nearby. Very respectful staff. 24 hour office is a lot of help when planning to leave at midnight.

Need an air refreshner for the smoking room, the smoking room was heavy on the cigarette smell or air out the room a bit. Most of the staff was great except a lady named Angie when leaving was kind of rude about the paperwork when paying to stay an extra day. Other than that it was a great stay.

Room was good and clean. Front desk personnel were very nice.
Required a cash deposit which we didn't know about ahead of time. Their "breakfast" consisted of a granola bar or a small muffin and coffee or juice. It was a very sketchy part of town--lots of homelessness. Cops were there the first morning!

It was a good location for me traveling by bus. I had several hours to wait after checkout until my bus came, and the staff kindly stored my backpack in a safe location until my bus came, so I didnt have to carry it all day.

I loved that the whole place was as described. I loved that when I rented the room, there were no hidden costs & the staff knew what was up or down, along with deposit being charged, it was given back right away! The room was checked before you left, so there were no issues. The staff was nice & respectful!
I would like that coffee maker was bigger & that getting coffee would be a problem if don't know about where single coffee packets are to have coffee during the time that I stayed.

Wasn't very clean, had a coffee maker but no coffee pot, bed comforter had stains on them and didn't smell very clean. Had a smoking room no ashtray when I arrived was asked for 50 dollar deposit for the smoking room had no cash on me only credit cards if a deposit was required they should have mentioned that when I made reservations

It was super cheap, the room was big and had a small kitchen which was welcome, but I wouldn't trust using it.
Breakfast was just some granola bars and juice, nothing that constituted calling if breakfast. There were 3 or 4 BIG moths in our room when we got there. The door was jammed and we barely were able to get info the room at all, and once we were in could only open the door from the inside after that.

The only thing I can say that was good was the staff.
The location was horrible. The area was very run down and surrounded by drug addicts, homelessness, and panhandlers. I had to park my vehicle right outside of my window in fear of it being broken into. There was traffic ALL NIGHT to where I couldn't even get a good nights rest. There was so much noise from partying, yelling, loud motorcycles coming and going all night, just chaos. The room was subpar at best for the price and had a weird basement smell. I would NEVER stay here again nor would I recommend anyone to.

I enjoyed my time at the Howard Johnson. The staff at the front desk were friendly and very helpful and it brought me comfort that they genuinely showed concern and offered help during my stay. The rooms were very clean it was by far the cleanest room Ive stayed in on this side of town. Housekeeping checked in everyday asking if I needed more towels or needed a linen exchange. They came through with a broom and mopped and cleaned out the fridge and the microwave everyday. I will definitely be returning to the Howard Johnson when I need a motel ! :)

I like that we had a main floor room with parking outside our door. Although the parking was not guaranteed, if we planned our coming and going, we were able to get a spot close to our door. The paint and linens were fresh! The cleaning staff were dedicated and helpful.
The location is difficult to get to. You have to do a U-turn on a highway in order to get to the entrance. The location is surrounded by homeless individuals and it does not seem safe to walk anywhere after sunset. The carpet in the room should go or be thoroughly cleaned. Your socks will get really dirty. We reserved a king room but when we arrived we were informed that no king rooms were available. we took a two bed room instead for the same price. No discount was offered for the inconvenience.

The front desk gentleman was very friendly.

There was no breakfast. The room was clean and had newer matresses. Everything looked nice. The walls were very thin. The windows are very old and sounds like they are always open.

The bathroom was spotless. The sheets smelled good. A really nice housekeeper.
The stairs, railings and outside walls were terrible. A mirror fell off the wall at 2:00 am and scared the poo out of us. There was a problem checking in. Booking.com gave the hotel the wrong number or so. I never really understood. Manager told us WE WOULD HAVD TO CALL booking.com and straighten it out. That was unacceptable to me. The managers voice was super high pitched, practically a scream. However she ended up fixing the issue.

Our family needed a clean place to stay for the night. It worked great for our needs. Breakfast was juice and muffins, which was great as we needed to leave early.
Could have used more towels in the bathroom. More detail to cleaning on the microwave, around the outside and behind the microwave door handle.

The water in the bathtub didn't get hot. I waited until 2:00 in the morning and still wouldn't stay hot. It was probably just something simple with the hot water heater. It would start off for a few seconds and the water would be extremely hot and then it would just be warm

The water was nice and hot in the shower. The wifi was reliable. The room and bathroom looked clean. The iron and board worked well.
I stayed in suite 111. The bed on the side furthest from the bathroom is where I like to sleep. But the mattress was so used that the springs had nearly no "spring" left. I had to sleep on the other side of the bed. This caused me to wake up multiple times each night. Also, the light that illuminates the walkway just outside the rooms is too bright, even with the curtains drawn.
