Lovely hotel.
Just finishing a 3 week trip across America. Stayed in some lovely accomodation along the way. Most hotels gave free complimentary breakfast or charged a reasonable amount ie. 20 dollars.
This hotel wanted to charge 32 dollars for a continental breakfast. Way too expensive!!

The staff was lovely and cookies were warm and delicious as usual.
The room I booked wasn’t the room I was given. I didn’t complain because it was well after midnight when I arrived. The accommodations made me feel anxious and the view from my window was met with unhoused citizens sharing drugs. I expected double tree to be a clean and hospitable resort but the elevators to the rooms were absolutely disgusting and covered with smears. I only stayed one night so I managed but it would have been nice to truly experience this location at its best. It had so much potential with the garden area and warm/welcoming staff.

Location and staff are the best. Staff was very accommodating.
There are several updates that need to be made. The rooms are a great size but there is so much wasted space because of outdated cabinets in the living area, which serve no purpose. TVs should be mounted on the wall. Very small refrigerator...that was ridiculous. The sleeper sofa was uncomfortable. Ice machine was located only on 2 floors of the hotel. Ceiling above the shower was damaged. Popcorn ceilings were throughout our room, the restaurant was at the back of the hotel. Guests would not know there was a restaurant unless they asked. With the huge lobby at the front, the restaurant should be at the front. There is a bar near the lobby, so why not have the restaurant at the front with the bar inside the restaurant? The layout and configuration of the hotel is disjointed. The best attributes of the hotel are the staff and location!

I love this property. I had my wedding on this property, and stay at least once a year.
Hopefully this is a one off, but the AC in my room was not working. We called facilities, and they came to try to fix it. It seemed initially that they did, but my room still was not cooling

they noise was crazy. there is a shopping center downstairs that blasts music almost 24/7 and that's all we could hear in the room, even with the TV on (and we were on the 6th floor) and it was hard to relax. it went on till at least 2am and started back up early in the moring and woke us up each day.

We liked that it had a refrigerator and coffee maker and that it was walking distance to little Tokyo, Union Station, Angels Flight, etc. We were also very grateful that we were able to do early check-in at 1pm. The Japanese Garden is also nice. We also used the parking, even though it was $51/night we were grateful that the car was safe there.
There was police, ambulance and helicopter noise at night. I would recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

Close to Little Tokyo so you have quick access to good food and cute shops.
The windows can open and there is no net to stop accidents. The staff are 50/50, some super nice and professional. The others being rude. Also you can’t be outside of the property after 9pm because there is constant police activity.

Inside of the hotel was actually old. The hotel didn’t even have some slippers, robes and condiments. First i got to my room, there wasn’t any toothpaste, soap. Outside noises were also loud during night.

Kiara at the front desk was absolutely amazing she needs a raise.!!!! Dealing with bitchy customers isn't easy and she does it well..
Parking was not so amazing. The only thing I really hated was that I had to get my parking ticket validated every single time I left, and parking ran out. There were more parking spots for the valet. Why is that because the hotel makes a few dollars more. The neighborhood is extremely bad, but I have never been to LA, so I understand and won't complain too much .

I want to give special recognition to Kiara at the front desk. She went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable, accessible, and stress-free. From the moment I checked in, she was attentive to the details of my reservation, ensuring I received the accessible room I requested and patiently explaining the perks of my stay.
On my first night, I discovered the mini fridge in my room wasn’t working. Even though it was late, Kiara quickly arranged for it to be replaced right away. On my last day, I had an early flight out of LAX and needed help with my bags. Kiara was the only person at the desk, yet she not only found someone to assist me but ultimately came to my room herself to help bring my bags downstairs and assist me to my Uber.
What impressed me most was how she did all of this while still perfectly assisting other guests—always with a smile, care, and genuine compassion. She truly made my stay pleasant and memorable. Hilton is fortunate to have such a dedicated and thoughtful team member.
During my 6-day stay, breakfast at Justice Restaurant was included. One morning, I simply asked for a to-go cup for orange juice so I could take my medication back in my room. To my surprise, the server told me I would have to give up the next day’s breakfast voucher just for that small cup of juice.
I found this response unreasonable and disappointing. The following day, instead of dealing with the same issue, I walked to a nearby 7-11 to purchase my own orange juice.
Being asked to surrender a full breakfast buffet voucher in exchange for a small cup of juice felt unacceptable and far below the level of service I’ve come to expect from Hilton.

The view of the city from the hotel window was nice. And the location of the hotel was close to the concert venues I attended. The hotel is also in walking distance to Grand Central Market and Museums.
Parking. There are not enough self-parking. Our room was on the 18th floor and we can hear the street noise, especially the police and fire sirens.
