Quaint and different. Good air conditioning and heating. I like the bed because it was firmer than most hotel/motel beds. The restaurant being right there was amazing, and I ate breakfast there every day.
Most electrical plugs were not available near the bed (for CPAP) which was a little awkward.

Unfortunately, it was just an overnight stay on our way up to Napa and we had a scheduled concert in Santa Monica that night. Would love to go back and check out the restaurant and surrounding area another time. Everything was exceptional. Loved the artsy decor. It was so refreshing. The friendliness and hospitality of the owner made it clear that this was not an ordinary motel stop. It was evident that she really took pride in her place and aimed to please. The addition of some coffee and fruit in the morning was an excellent touch.

Wonderful atmosphere. Helpful and cheerful staff. Overall ambience was extraordinary. Wish we could have had more dinners in the restaurant linked to the motel. Food was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Met the expectations. Great to have a space for car included to the regular room price. Liked how the place looked. Comfy bed (not too soft).
Little bit of draft in the room which together with stone floors made sometimes feel chilly the stay. They do have air-to-air heat pumps in the rooms which can be used to raise the room temperature. This helped a lot for my stay.
Wifi speed is below medicore. Only 2-4 mb/sec DL speeds, so good only for basic browsing, not to watch any video stream based content. So don’t rely the house wifi if you want to Netflix before going to bed.
Room should have better lighting. Only bedside table lamps and one wall lamp in the kitchen area did not provide great luminousity at all so after sunset or if you liked to keep curtains shut during daytime the place got pretty dark.

Best feature is the colorful courtyard with outdoor cafe tables for every room. Every night there are lit candles on every table. It is magical. The onsite restaurant has delicious food, very fresh, and friendly staff who take great pride in their menu.

Loved the warmth of the staff and that they went out of their way to make it a pleasant stay, loved the delicious adjacent restaurant, loved that there was chocolate, water and fruit waiting for me in the room, loved the on site parking included. Loved that this is a family owned business and it shows! Will absolutely go here again and recommend it to others.

The photos don’t do Villa Brasil justice. The property is lovely. A hidden gem off Washington street, it’s like entering a colorful and tranquil oasis. Each room has its own courtyard seating where you can sip coffee and enjoy the well tended flowers and foliage as soft Brazilian samba music plays in the background. Delightful!
Very few amenities are walking distance from the property.

The Brazilian menu food at the restaurant associated with this lovely little boutique motel was incredibly delicious, flavorful and generous in its portions. We adored the decorations and the laid-back bossa nova music piped into the motor court area (where cute little outdoor tables and chairs are located).
We had a bit of difficulty finding a way to heat up our unit, when the outdoor temps fell unexpectedly. We didn’t have much in the way of heavy blankets or thick comforter on the bed. Maybe one of those kept in the closet for those rare cold nights would be helpful?

Love the decor! Next time I’ll get a double trim as the room is not too spacious but was really fine. I would have liked an overhead light as I couldn’t see in my suitcase very well. Staff very friendly and attentive.
This is my new go-to place when I’m in the area!

This is a small family owned hotel, not a chain, so the rooms don't have a corporate atmosphere.
There are so many things to appreciate:
Pleasant room, clean, has windows that open and close, curtains that can be opened and still have privacy, comfortable bed, extra sink with dining area (so you don't have to use the bathroom sink).
When I visited it was quiet, I couldn't hear the neighbors.
Plenty of free parking. Friendly staff.

Culver City proved to be a good location for our various activities. Villa Brasil was clean, reasonably priced and had free on-site parking. The décor is charming and warm. The room was comfortable, with plenty of storage and spots to sit and read or eat. They kindly stocked the room with coffee/tea materials, and some fruit, soda and candy bars, which was sweet. The wifi was good. I also appreciated that even though we were on the ground floor, we could open the curtains and even the windows without anybody looking in.
For the price, I can't add much. The neighborhood is gentrifying, which means it's mixed in various ways. You can walk to coffee shops and yoga studios....and there's a more downscale motel next door. But we felt perfectly safe in the motel and I walked alone each morning with no concerns.

The location was perfect. I was the perfect distance from all the major attractions I wanted to see in LA. Including Venice, Santa Monica, Marina Del Ray, Hollywood, Bel Air, Beverly Hills, etc. I was a female solo-traveler and felt very safe here. The staff was accommodating and very kind. They made sure I felt comfortable and had what I needed.

The rooms were pleasant and comfortable - everything was clean, the furniture was in good shape, nothing was worn or scruffy. It felt well looked after and cared for. The central courtyard is cheerfully painted and decorated, and the staff were always helpful. The Cafe Brasil was a great place for a reasonably-priced meal. We've stayed in a few places around Culver City and Santa Monica and this was definitely the best of them.
Could have used a guide to operate the A/C-fan-heating system - it was inscrutable!
