I didn't like that someone opened our looked door using a key while we were asleep in bed. I had the safety latch on. So, the perpetrators were not able to enter the room further.

The Hilton is located in a prime spot at the edge of the French quarter, on the Mississippi river. Rooms are spacious and the amenities what you expect from a Hilton. Otherwise a very standard stay. Picked for the relative closeness to the convention center. (Mind you other close options that are very comparable if not better are available)
The hotel is in need of a bit of a refresher. Lifts/Elevators are openly accessible (no room card needed) and look dated/worn out. Some things are clearly worked on (such as the "lobby"). The breakfast buffet is quite pricey and I would say with the rare exception would not be good value.

The generator went out and only one side of the hotel was working, which resulted in everyone using 1 elevator, which was a major problem. Valet was about a 2 block walk across train tracks, which we were still paid for and it was a huge inconvenience.

The room had a terrible smell and was dirty. Check in process was lengthy. They tried to charge us double for a destination fee. When I asked what the destination fee was for they informed us of a few amenities including a daily $10 food/drink voucher and $20 laundry service. Had I known this at check-in we would have used it. The staff needs to communicate the use of this fee better.

This is the only hotel that I will stay at while in New Orleans. It is near the Mall and riverfront.
I did not like how the guests came to the food area for breakfast wearing hair bonnets, pajamas, and or house shoes. There should be a dress code. It's disgusting to have bedroom clothes around the food. That's very unsanitary.

Lovely 1st and second floors. It was a good location for the Tall Ships. Nice views from our room of the river and some of the ships. Very nice breakfast buffet.
I reserved two rooms but was told I only had one. Took some convincing for them to find it. Had to wait an hour past check-in for second room. Acted like they were doing me a favor. Check-in agents rude, acted like they didn't want to help us. My daughter got stuck trying to leave the parking deck because her key was not correctly formatted which almost made us miss a reservation. She swiped her card for a $90 charge to get out. If the check-in agents were trained never to smile or be hospitable, then the training was a success.

Breakfast was great. The breakfast buffet was a little expensive ($32 per person). The room was comfortable and the view was excellent. The staff was exceptional.
We had to park in the overflow area (employee parking lot) and had to walk all the back to the hotel with luggage. If we're paying $50 for parking at least give us a shuttle to get back and forth.
