I was very welcomed by the staff, both of the gentleman I came across with at the reception were extremely friendly. The room and bathrooms were very clean at all times, the shower is not super strong but one can have a nice shower, there are multiple bathrooms per floor as well, that’s a plus. They also have elevator which is also a plus in Manhattan. Also the mini fridge and a sink in the room were amazing. As for location, I won’t even dive much deeper into that since it’s right in midtown a stone throw away from Bryant Park so it speaks for itself.
The experience was positive overall.

I really enjoyed my staying at The Americana Inn, the staff was very kind and available when I needed them and there was also some breakfast provided in the morning, even though it's not a B&B. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean, which I don't usually expect from a hotel in NYC (not to be this clean) and the position of the hotel is perfect considering the lower price. You're at a walkable distance from Times Square, the Empire State Building and many other amenities (and my favorite bar at 44th street).
I wouldn't say there was something I disliked. Maybe just the fact that the bed was pretty high, so if you're short like me you're going to climb on it monkey style. And my bedroom was pretty dark even during the day because the sun couldn't reach the window. But you're not going to live in a hotel anyway, so who cares?

Highly recommend Americana Inn! The rooms are modern, the bathrooms are clean and the staff are extremely helpful. The location is fantastic, being a ten minute walk to Times Square, the theatres, Bryant Park, Penn Station and Grand Central. It’s a busy area and felt safe. The prices are also competitive compared to others in the area.

Excellent location and the room was newly renovated and appeared clean. There was a hair dryer, towels, earplugs and an eye mask. Staff was nice and price can’t be beat.
It’s midtown NY so this is expected, but the noise coming from outside made it difficult to sleep even with earplugs. Also the window shutters let a lot of light in.

I was thrilled with my experience at Americana Inn and will definitely stay there again. The staff was lovely and very professional. The location was perfect for a first-time visit to Manhattan. And the price was more than reasonable. I know the shared bathroom situation would be a deal-breaker for many, but it was not an issue at all for me. There was a bathroom right next to my room, and it wasn't a "locker room" kind of bathroom, but a "normal" bathroom. In fact, the one next to my room seems to have been the largest on the entire floor, which was a nice bonus. And having a large sink and lighted mirror inside the hotel room made it so much simpler and easier to get ready. Really, it was all that was needed for a single traveler and for half the price of other hotels in the area.
There really wasn't anything I didn't like. I was very happy with everything. Have already recommended the hotel to friends looking for a simple, inexpensive but nicely appointed hotel in the heart of New York City.

The staff were nice
The bathroom was a shared bathroom and it didn’t have soap. So after you used the toilet no one washed their hands I guess, luckily I always have hand sanitizer on me. The bed in my room wasn’t made with a fitted sheet, it was just the square sheet, so when I lifted the blanket it just all shifted. It wasn’t very comfortable, because of all the excess material that kept shifting when I turned.

Good location when arriving by train at Penn station. Rooms were modern, enough space in single rooms for one person and one night.
Nice with a basin in the room instead of going to shared bathroom.
I had a room towards the back of the building so it was quiet from the street.
You get what you pay for, lower price than most on the area. It was good for a night but I wouldn't want to stay for a longef period.
Thin doors for the rooms so you hear when someone is in the bathroom or showering. I had to use earplugs at night to not be woken by someone going to the bathroom.
I found hair on the floor and behind the door in my room when I arrived so it could been cleaned better.
There are no separate toilets, its in the bathroom with showers which means that it can be difficult finding an available bathroom in the morning. Would be good if the shared bathrooms were cleaned more often.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly, which I really appreciated. I was given an early check-in, which was also something I was really grateful for. The A/C worked very well.
Would have liked to have a lamp in the room rather than having only to depend on overhead lighting. It would have been nice to have brewed coffee in the morning instead of just hot water.

The elevator was out of service most of our stay but they got it fixed by the time we were checking out! The windows in our room didn’t close all the way so it was really noisy in our room unfortunately.

Enjoyed my one-week stay, overall it was a great experience. The location is fantastic, everything is within walking distance, very convenient. The room was cleaned daily, and the bed was comfortable.
Noise level was an issue in a street-facing room, so bring earplugs.

Location was good. Did not know about the breakfast until 2nd day, did not try it. Two complaints was there was no cable and no chaiir in the room, maybe put a folding chair in each room?
