The location was great with easy access to buses, metro and ferries all within a short distance - many of the sights are walkable. Having a fully fitted kitchen was useful for those days you didn't want to eat out - or to grab a take-away from the many local deli's. The location was quieter than others we looked at, away from the hustle and bustle but still with plenty of bars and restaurants locally. There is nowhere on site for breakfast but there is a good range of deli's and bakeries in adjacent buildings. There is s free coffee machine on site. The staff were very friendly. Nice powerful shower and plenty of hot water. Our apartment was well cleaned and had the added feature of an air purifier.

The room we had was a little dark and lacked natural light in the living area - that said we weren't there much during the day. This is an older building and some of the furnishings had seen better days. There were updating the reception area during our stay.

Great room with good kitchen facilities, comfy beds and clean. Coffee machine in the foyer, free to use for residents. Ophelias Roof Bar is really tasteful and very popular so be sure to book if you want to guarantee a table. A couple of delis and general stores close by, and nice restaurants too.

Nothing we didnt like, but be aware its 4 blocks to the subway, so not on your doorstep (yellow cabs pass by often though).

We spent 6 days in NYC. The accomodation was perfect for our family (2 children), room is actually an apartment with everything you may need: a well equipped separate kitchen, two bedrooms, a spacious living/dining room. Bathroom is quite small, but shower is spacious. It was very luminous and ventilated, even bathroom had its own window. We appreciated coffee corner in the entrance hall, and washing machine downstairs. The terrace bar Ophelia is wonderful, view is amazing. Hotel's position is very good, close to 2 subway stations, very safe area with many restaurants, shops and a supermarket.

Price is quite high, but absolutely in line with NYC. In any case it is good value for money.

The hotel is conveniently located, but not smack dab in the middle of everything, which gave it a relaxed, quiet air in the middle of all the rush of the city. Staff are very kind and helpful (including with a last minute car ride to the airport). The room was very large by NYC standards with a ton of closet space. Kitchen was also well-equipped for preparing breakfast and simple meals, with a small but good grocery store across the street. (Facilties include a gym and laundry room, which we did not use, and coffee, tea and cocoa available day and night in the business center.)

The bathrooms were a little small and did not have much ventilation. The steam from five people showering made it difficult to dry towels. Also, the windows could really use a clean, though it must be difficult to keep them clean in NY. Coffee filters would have been a plus, as well as a second nightstand in the second bedroom.

The location is great. We had booked three plays and it was an easy 20 min. cab ride from the hotel to Times Square. We also toured the United Nations building which is within easy walking distance.

There were three of us traveling and we chose this hotel because it said the room had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Unfortunately, they were not two full bathrooms. One bathroom was just a toilet and a sink. It would have been nice to know this in advance.

The room was as shown in the pictures. We had a two bedroom room and there was plenty of space for 5-6 adults. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils, the refrigerator was full sized with a freezer. There was a free laundry facility on site.

The bathrooms are quite small, but livable. The location is about an 11 min walk from the subway, but the M15 bus is right out front and the M50 is across the street.

The history & location of the building

We had the 4 bedroom penthouse apartment & came to the city for a 5 day July 4th getaway.....and wait for it ..... The small apartment was quite spacious, with a big living room, small kitchen with everything necessary, and 2 bedrooms. We found it ideal for our family of 4, since we spent some time in the room resting. It was a very good decision to stay here!

Although I really liked the neighborhood and the location, it is a bit far from everything, so we had to walk a lot. Not necessarily a disadvantage, there is a subway station a couple of blocks away, but when we were tired, it always seemed far.

3rd floor street view room was very loud. Had to jack up the ac and air purifier to drown out some of the city noise. Floor was stained and sticky despite paying extra for the special wellness clean package. Sofa was stained we put down towels to sit on. Great location in a fun and safe part of town. Lots of restaurants and a real neighborhood feel. The added room of a place with a kitchen and living area was a bonus for NYC. The rooms were very clean, the linens excellent and the kitchen well provided for. The staff was friendly and attentive. Good value for the City!

The housekeeping staff never attended to the room, despite being promised for a week long stay. The halls and elevators needed vacuuming. The carpet needs to be replaced.

Grotty old carpets and not so clean lifts. The first apartment we were assigned smelled of stale cigarette smoke and the sofa had cigarette burns and food stuck between the cushions. Sandy helped change the apartment to a cleaner, better one making our one week stay more acceptable.

Very friendly and helpful staff, specially Hector. Just as an example, we had a problem connecting to the Wi-Fi and Hector quickly sent someone to fix the issue. The apartment was clean and really comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen with all necessary amenities. There is a restaurant/bar on the rooftop that is really great and with a fantastic view over the East River (perfect for a drink at sunset). There are also many option to eat in the neighborhood. The building is located in a quiet part of NY and you are just 30 min away from Time Square (easy to walk to). I highly recommend the Beekman and will definitely go back.

Value-for-money stay in NY, spacious apartment in comparison to other typical hotel rooms in NY.

Couldn't say it is a hotel to be honest, your way to the room was through a small sketchy corridor, reception was not 24/7, we needed an extra blanket and pair of sheets/pillow which no one was able to provide. The reservation was for three people, while towels etc provided was only for two people.

Beautiful room with a balcony. Very spacious bathroom and well appointed kitchen. Individual wifi for the room. Free laundry on premises as well as gym. Hotel stored my suitcase safely for a few days when I was travelling.

A little pricey. The TV didn't work but I was offered a discount to compensate for that, so that helped. Although the room itself was very clean, the carpet in the landing looked worn. Also, some of the residents on my floor were smoking pot which made it very unpleasant.

Staff was very nice and very friendly. Room was equipped with things you would need during your stay. It was a nice room, it was spacious and quiet. We had everything we needed and it was like staying in your own apartment. Loved not being able to hear other people other than entering and leaving rooms, you could hear street traffic but it wasnt bad. I would stay here again.

The building could use a new paint job. Elevators could be updated as well as hallways. The bed was super uncomfortable could use updated mattresses you could tell they have not been replaced for a long time.

Tired appartment, carpets would news some serious cleaning or replacement, noises outside the room due to thin door and thin windows. Beds unconfortable . The cleaniness needs also improving. Air condition was not working in one bedroom and issues with lights. Cockroaches.

Location is excellent. Close access to everything in mid Manhattan, including transit. Great kitchen bathroom small but functional. Called staff once to adjust heat and service was pleasant and efficient. Quiet.

Design of suite was awkward. And rooms were dark and gloomy. No bars in bathtub (my fault for not requesting in advance)

The room was beautiful and comfortable with wonderful views. Location exceptional.

One problem, that did not ruin our stay in the least, involved the bathroom mirror. There was none. It was odd, we assumed that it must have been broken and not replaced. Three requests at the front desk, no result. We think it was most likely that the person responsible for repairs does not work on the weekend, which was our stay, so we let it go.

The area is nice and within a 10-15 minute walk to many landmarks. The staff is friendly as well.

The hotel needs to be refurbished, in particular common areas and bathrooms.

Great location. Suite with kitchen is important to me as I prefer to self-cater. Kitchen was fully equipped. Free use of laundry room is also very convenient. Reception staff very helpful.

The property needs some updating. Corridors need new carpeting and probaby fresh paint or wall-paper.

Lovely Reception Staff, Quiet even though it was on very busy road.

Very noisy mattress with any move. No towel change, rubbish removal which would be nice every couple of days.

The hotel staff! So friendly and helpful. Location felt safe and accessed wonderful neighborhood for food and shopping. The fact that we were able to access laundry was exceptional as I stayed for 10 days. Also there was a cool restaurant/bar - Ophelia.

The shower head was not working properly and even though maintenance came right away it still was noisy and water didnt flow properly. The bed was not the most comfortable.
