The staff were not friendly at all and it almost felt they were not please with us having us there. We booked this a long time ago and I told them it was for our 5th anniversary and they just didnโt know about this when we arrived although they replied to my messages in booking.com
VERY IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW: all rooms are privately owned so each room is different, so itโs not an hotel per se and for sure itโs not a 4 stars hotel. The pictures do not reflect the rooms.
We originally got assigned to a room and we asked to be changed to another room because it had a lot of noise coming not only from the street but from a ventilation of the building. Yes, windows are not double glazed.
We spoke with the staff and they told us we should wait until the next morning but they told us that this is NY. Which is something ridiculous to say because we have stayed in Vegas and we couldnโt hear anything. We could not sleep.
The next morning they moved us to another room but the this new room had noise coming from the ventilation too. But because we saw this issue was not going to be resolved we accepted this room.
On top of that, people would slam their doors at any time in the night and it would wake us up. There isnโt any noise isolation whatsoever so you can hear next door's toilet and shower.
We also saw some cockroaches in our floor
Before the check out day we spoke with a lady from the help desk telling her all what I just wrote and we were requesting that the minimum we would expect is to have a FREE late checkout.She told us she would leave da note to the manager.
The morning of the checkout I call the service desk and he wasnโt even aware of this.
We asked him for a late check out and he agreed, but then after leaving the hotel they charged us USD19.39 for what I am assuming is the late checkout.
I AM WAITING FOR A REFUND FOR THIS. THIS IS THE LEAST THING THEY COULD GIVE US FOR FREE AFTER 10 TERRIBLE NIGHTS.
What a terrible hotel and staff.

The location, close to everything (5 blocks from Central Park, 7 blocks from Times Square)
Size of the apartment (room 801) was really big for what you can usually find in NYC. Ideal for families and large parties.
The doormen, reception and cleaning ladies were super friendly, attentive.
Is pet friendly (my dogs are old and very well behaved so we didnโt have any issues).
Overall good wi-fi. We recorded our dogs when leaving the room and connection never cut off.
We saw pictures of updated new rooms, we were given one that was old fashioned, had old rugs (Iโm assuming because we had dogs).
I asked for a walking shower because I was planning to travel with my mother whoโs disabled. That didnโt happened, but when I arrived they had forgotten to provide a room with that request (I booked the room months ago).
The kitchen has coffee machine, toaster and electric kettle, but they didnโt provide anything else. So you have a kitchen you canโt use because you donโt have a pan or a cooking pot. They didnโt even provided a cleaning sponge for the sink (I had to buy one). Not even tea or coffee, basics given in any 2 or 3 star hotel and they charge 500 usd per night.
There were small maintenance details: shower door didnโt close, old stained carpets, kitchen ventilation was all dirty, one of the toilets took forever to flush, floor at the entrance of the room was all scratched (like it had been ruined by furniture).

We splurged and paid extra and booked a 1 bed apartment so we could cook. The photos are misleading and the kitchen is so small you could barely move, itโs like a cupboard. The oven is a tiny bench top thing. Only 2 glasses, plates, forks etc. not made for families.
We were first in a room that was decorated appalling and we couldnโt stay in it. Mirrors everywhere. We requested to be moved, which they did the next day.
We had also requested a rollaway bed, which we did not have for the first night so it was an uncomfortable night.
The staff did help but unfortunately the first night was a disaster.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that the room we received was completely different from what we saw in the photos. The actual accommodations did not meet our expectations at all. While the staff did their best to assist us by showing us five different rooms, we noticed that the photos posted on Booking.com seemed to represent only three renovated rooms. Most of the other rooms appear to have not been updated, giving the impression of staying in a hotel from the 1980s, with old furniture, worn carpets, and a generally outdated ambiance.
Additionally, we found the hotel to be unclean, which was quite concerning, and we even encountered cockroaches in the bathroom. The kitchen was also minimal and insufficient for cooking, and the bathroom lacked a support sink.

It is a wonderful place in a nice location. Me and my wife chose the room with a balcony. The view was towards other buildings and jo street view, but the balcony is very big. The room itself had 2 bathrooms and 1 bedroom. 2 tvs, 1 in bedroom other in living room. A walk-in closet in the bedroom, with a king-size bed. 3 heater units that you can use to make it hot or cold. The room was nicely heated when we checked in. Kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge and freezer, oven, coffee machine( not k cup so bring ground coffee.) Overall great experience. With doorman downstairs. Location is very nice also, recommended !!

There is no breakfast facility at the hotel, but many recommendations for cafes nearby. Since this is in the midst of Manhattan, finding a breakfast place isn't tough. Just a block away from a subway station, the hotel is very conveniently located. The front desk is very helpful and the daily housekeeping is such a boon. Toiletries and towels are replenished and changed every day. It felt like a hotel, with the convenience of an apartment. It's tough to find an apartment hotel in Manhattan and Lombardy worked perfectly for us as a family of four.
Each apartment in The Lombardy is furnished by their owner, so facilities are not the same. We wanted 2 king beds, so were moved to another apartment than what we checked in, but that didn't have either a dishwasher or a washer dryer, while the original one didn't have 2 king beds. In hindsight, we should have kept the original coz we were provided with a roll-away bed immediately and the view from that was better since it was street facing.

Everything and everyone at this hotel was wonderful, from the front desk employees, bellhops, and doormen to the suite- it was perfection. They even upgraded our group to have an additional bedroom. When we requested wine glasses they brought them up promptly. This hotel feels like old school New York and it was a pleasure to stay here. Even though it was on the street side, it was very quiet. Staff was helpful, I miss the breakfast food from days gone by!
The room could use some touch ups, mostly paint. The food area in the room could use some plates for microwaving things, and utensils. The bathroom door needs some cosmetic repair at the bottom where there are signs of water damage. The lock on the entry door needs cosmetic repair it's scratched and looks worn out. The safe is inconveniently located to high up to actually see and use.

I consider this hotel one of the best in New York, providing a safe and comfortable environment. The staff were particularly helpful in supporting my brand, JANABY, during a major fashion event.
Parking ?๏ธ proved to be a challenge. Ideally, valet services should be provided for guests staying in suites and penthouses, at the least. This is my foremost concern. Parking

Very spacious room with pretty much everything needed. Fantastic location, within walking distance of Central Park, Grand Central and Fifth Ave, etc. The staff were very friendly too. Would definitely recommend.
While we were pleased with our room overall, it did feel a little dated and did not look like the photos. Not a complaint, as we still really enjoyed our stay, but just something to be aware of.
Guests who need a crib/pack-and-play for a baby/toddler should note that the hotel does not have these (despite what is stated on Booking). We managed to get by for 3 nights with the small folding bed provided for our 2-yr old daughter, but it was not ideal.

Great to have a kitchen, but only 2 of everything (plates, glasses, coffee cups, forks, spoons etc.). Also dishwasher but no detergent tablets, no napkins, and no pots and pans despite a functioning stove top. No bowls.
