The staff was wonderfully helpful. The room was small but extremely clean, comfortable beds and nicely appointed bathroom. There was a problem with the climate control for our room and a few others but the staff really stepped up. Our room was comped for the 2 nights without heat proactively by the manager. My BFF is on the UES and I stay with her often when I come down alone so I know that the hotel’s location is great for shopping, dining, museums and public transportation.
Another 6 inches between the bed and the closet? Absolutely not a deal breaker

Room is small but lovely and cozy and nicely decorated (not generic).
Location is great if you like museums and high end shopping.

Staff is super nice.
Closet space needs better hooks and to be adapted for dresses.
An iron could be practical.
A small fridge would be nice.

The room was too small for the two queen beds. You had to walk sideways between the bed and the closet. The bathroom sink was very small and in an alcove that was narrower than my shoulders which made it hard to use.

We like the hotel very much and stay there fairly often.
This time there was a certain falling off in some details. In particular, the bathroom had run out of shower gel, and we had to ask more than once to have it replaced.
There are no bedside electric plugs, making for inconvenience with phones. And extension cords are sometimes not in adequate supply (and are awkward anyone).

The location is good and apparently safe, because we wanted to be on the Upper East Side. It is close to many places of interest, but also far from many others. The good thing is that the underground is very close, with two lines that take you to the main tourist sites. There are also many restaurants and shops nearby.
The hotel has an area to make coffee and tea and sit for a while which is very nice.
Some rooms were very very small.
The entrance has a staircase with several narrow steps, difficult to access with large suitcases.
One night when we were in Washington, we left a large suitcase in the hotel and when we returned the next day, the man at the front desk couldn't find it. The next day it was retrieved without any problems (we never doubted it), but it seems strange that the receptionist doesn't know where the suitcases are kept.

We loved everything about The Franklin. The staff were warm and kind, the decor was contemporary in a charming brownstone, the location couldn’t be better with multiple restaurants and cafes within half a block, and the Met and Central Park a few blocks away.
Yes, the rooms are small - but the small quarters were more than made up for by the incredibly comfortable beds, the thoughtful interior design, and the complete quiet.

The staff were absolutely incredible. The gentleman working when we checked in was so wonderful - we had a bit of trouble finding parking and called him on the way and he was so helpful and kind. He gave us cookies and free coffee vouchers and, when we forgot toothpaste, he had that too. The hotel itself is also a super cool vibe. Rooms are small, but that’s expected in the city, and they’re really nicely maintained and comfortable.

We were 3 people staying in a room that was supposed to fit 4 people and we were completely squeezed. The room should def have one queen and one single bed instead of 2 queens ( and should def not be for 4 people). Also the toilet had no ventilation which made the entire room smell. There was not even enough room to hang all used towels.

We loved the location as it’s an easy walk to Central Park, eateries, and the subway while being fairly quiet and safe. Our room was compact but clean and perfect for us. Big shout out to the staff here, especially Jasmine! So helpful, so friendly, and just all round excellent service - they also make good coffee! The lobby area is perfect for sitting in and having coffee, working remotely, and they have a good range of snacks.
