There was was a door that seemed to connect to another room, and I wasn't sure if it was locked properly and some mild paranoia set in. Lamp appeared to be broken on one side of the bed, but as I was about to check out I realized it simply wasn't plugged in . . .

Good location. I was able to walk to most attractions and to the train station (very handy for my day trip to Salem). Very comfortable bed. Didn't hear any street noise - an important point for me, since I am a very light sleeper.
All staff members were polite and accomodating. My last day I had an evening flight and they held my luggage after check- out at no extra charge.
I was happy with this hotel and I don't have any really negative comments. Perhaps one thing they could improve is the lighting in the room, which was a bit dim. One suggestion: the coffee in the lobby is in a niche and not easy to see. I discovered it on my last day while waiting for a cab. Why not point that out to the customers when they check in?

The location was great, the staff were really friendly and helpful. Portland has done an amazing job in cleaning up the city. Getting around is easy with the Max and buses.
I thought there was free breakfast but there wasn’t, the room was fairly dusty, one bed had a mattress pad as a blanket, I had to call for more blankets. There was no garbage can in the room, only in the bathroom. The coffee station hadn’t been restocked and the glasses were dirty, there were no Paul Mitchell products in bathroom (as advertised) the bathtub was really slippery, shower head and tub filler were not sealed so just sort of moved around, there was so much grime built up on the trim I found myself cleaning it. I don’t think anyone’s cleaned that for years, with hot water, a washcloth and my nail I was able to get off a lot of ick in one little section. Hopefully it’s clear enough the next housekeeper will notice. The ice machine was not working. Overall the hotel is really in need of a deep cleaning, a bit more attention and a tub mat would be nice. For the cost I expected way more. We travel often and this was a first staying at a Courtyard. I’ve stayed in much nicer places for half the cost.

Room was suitable for the length of stay.
First room was a welcome surprise, however with crumbs on the furniture an alternative room was requested. The second room was not acceptable and the effort was made to accommodate another room. Staff that were sent to solve the issue was a trainees that I found poor reflection on a lack of attention to the matter. Settling on the third room it was a much smaller room which was a bit of an inconvenience. I expected more from this establishment.

Room was good. Location was excellent as we were catching train and was within walking distance. However (not hotel’s fault re homeless people), the homeless situation and the campus rally was a bit unnerving.
The pillows were smaller than normal. Driver in airport shuttle could have been friendlier, we had just come from airport and both gent at airport and a gent on train were so helpful, it was surprising to get someone so quiet. But to his credit, he did help me later and was much more friendly.

Room with a view looking over many of Portland’s historic buildings. Especially the Wells Fargo building with its many tiles, cornices, brass work, colors. Also lots of sun on the 16 th floor. We asked for a room with a view and got it! Location. We walked to most of the city’s highlights and even over the Morrison Bridge to Cartopia for a casual supper. Staff v helpful and willing to help. Friendly staff from restaurant front desk and valet.

Need to pay for parking, and can be difficult to get on the right side of the building due to the one-way roads. Slow elevator and need key card to get it moving.

Front office staff are amazing especially the gentleman from East Europe on 9/08 was really kind and helpful and went out of his way to support with our requests.
Cleaning was not really up to expectation. Walked in to find hair in many parts including towels.
The Do Not Disturb sign are useless. Housekeeping still came to clean even though we were told it was not scheduled and still came knocking on a day we had to sleep in.
Room has minimal amenities. Not even a bottle of water or bathroom extras.
Check the bill before leaving the hotel. Might have charges which were not incurred.
