Check-in staff at 3:30am (had a 4h train delay) was difficult to understand due to a thick accent and unhelpful. Told us our reservation had been cancelled as a no-show, we had been charged for the night, but could pay for an extra night to get a room.

Location was perfect, walking distance to the river walk and other main attractions. Slept well and hot showers which are our priorities when travelling. Complimentary breakfast. Would definitely stay here again but not if I needed laundry facilities.
The laundry facilities, it's just weird. You have to get an app so you can register and load money onto but doesn't work for international mobiles so you have to call customer services. Then when he finally responds, he advises you of a mobile number (which is the account number) and gives you a pin to enter so that you are registered for the app, then you can load your credit card details onto and get electronic tokens. This all seemed a bit sus to me, wasn't sure if all international travellers use the same account number, it definitely didn't feel secure so I took a pass. It may be fine but it was an awful lot of hassle just to do some washing, not to mention the international mobile calls trying to get through to customer services. The night manager was no help, he said that it was not their issue however the day staff were fantastic and found a work around so I could catch up on some necessary laundry.

Location was great for The Alamo and River Walk; walking distance to both. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was large and comfortable.
There is a valet parking charge of $40+tax per night, which was unexpected. It was probably in the fine print of the reservation, but we weren't aware ahead of time. Considering we didn't take the car out during the two-night stay, the cost seemed excessive.

The breakfast was good but I was a little disappointed because I assumed from the menu they were serving breakfast tacos but it was actually folded egg instead of an actual taco. The location is great because its close to everything, the Alamo and river walk are right there.
The beds are very firm and not comfortable, they look good but once you lay on them you realize they are not comfortable. The ONE thing I didnt like is the parking, its valet only, Im not a lazy person and I dont mind walking to park my own vehicle, they tell you once you arrive that its $40 for parking but its $40 per day, I think that is ridiculous because parking is usually provided for the guests, this is an additional cost for travelers to plan for.

Low quality for the cost of the room. I was taken aback by the overall appearance and little things, like no ice buckets in the room. The room was dirty!! Feces skids in the toilet, the walls in the kitchenette were dirty, and we saw 3 cockroaches! I was so grossed out that we switched rooms and canceled the rest of our stay. We paid the same rate to stay at the Menger hotel, and it was a 100% nicer hotel. I have no clue how Sonesta has the ratings it does on booking.com

The hotel was in a great location, very close to the Alamo and just a short walk to the Riverwalk. It was nice and quiet. The room was clean and comfortable with so much room!!! It was so nice having separate bedrooms!!

The beds were very uncomfortable. The sheets were too small for the bed. It was a full size fitted sheet on a queen size bed. The fitted sheet would not stay on. No grass for the dog to potty.

The phones didnt work, so every time I needed to call for housekeeping or anything else, I had to go downstairs. The bathtub leaked and they couldnt fix it. Its very old and not modernized like most of the other hotels. And the cost of keeping your car there is very high. This website where I booked did not say that would be an added cost.

Even though the front desk appeared to be understaffed, my overall experience with the staff was very positive. The free breakfast options were limited but well done. The room was spacious with a functional kitchen and a nice desk/work area.
Quoted price with Booking was $259.23. What I ended up paying was $391.20. Everyone should contact the property to learn about the fees that Booking doesn't disclose. The extra fees could be avoided with advance knowledge. Noisy maintenance in the room above and insects in the bath and kitchen area. Rooms next to ongoing maintenance should be taken out of service.

Location is very nice. The full fridge and breakfast were a plus.
Was charged a fee of $35 for checking in @3pm because check in is 4PM. They made me put two deposits and make two separate reservations for the same room and same stay because I booked through a third party. Staff was not very accommodating, and they wanted to charge you for every little thing. Water was also cut off for maintenance repairs and there was extensive construction going on the whole time. I will never stay here again.

We found some leftover staff under the bed (gummy bear) and some old bakings next to the table, but well, it isn’t Four Seasons.
As for the parking - it is expensive valey and don’t even bother to try finding other public parking lots nearby, they all are approx the same price but you face the evacuator if forgetting to top up. I found by luck that the street right next to the hotel (4th street) has a stree parking with free parking from 6pm to 8am and for the whole day afterwards costs 3$. If you arrive midday, then there definately will be spots available

The suite we got was spacious and had its own small kitchen with electric stove fridge and dishwasher which I thought is very nice its like a small apartment. My husband said he did not like the bed, but I thought it was not bad, my back was not hurting and I am pregnant woman, I was okay.
What I did not like, there is a club on the side that does get loud, you can hear the cars we were on 3rd Floor, the elevators sometimes take forever, the beds are okay, the furniture is kind of old, ex. the kitchen chair was tore from the top. PRIVATE PARKING means you HAVE to pay VALET $40 per day unless you want to park at a surface lot @ the area. Breakfast buffet is not all that, they do not have waffles, pancake machine takes forever, they do not refill after 8:30am, the end of breakfast is 9am. The potatoes are so dry. The kitchen people can be kind of rude.

The only thing that was good was the location. Close to downtown area
The pool was small only meant for children 6yrs old and younger and small pool area. Nothing like what is shown on the picture. The front check in person very rude. The room needed a major update. The pictures that are shown on website are all lies.

Every single staff we interacted with or were even in an elevator with was genuinely kind. We were displaced by the hurricane and needed to extend our stay due to many days without power at our home. Jenna walked me thru how to extend our stay thru a 3rd party. Our room was comfortable, and clean even though a bit dated. But good news they are renovating! So next time we come it will be even better . The breakfast every morning was well put together , not much variety but hey it's free! They had gluten free and sugar free options as well! The valet staff were helpful every single time we needed them and the housekeeping staff were prompt and kind with meeting all of out needs. The corner is also a parking spot for the electric scooters that are fun to zip around the area. The alamo is literally down the block! We will 100% stay here again!
Bed was a bit hard but, the remodel has new ones coming :) we saw several being loaded on elevators.

I liked how it was spacious and the view was nice.
I didn’t like the overall vibes of the hotel, it felt like i was in a scary movie, and the hotel wasn’t super clean, but was good enough, Also when we got there we checked in and our room was humid and the water was running it was a flood. luckily they gave us a new room.

The staff was polite, and breakfast was ok.
They did say that there was a mandatory 40+taxes valet fee. No self-park. Also, the water was turned off from 1130 to 3. Hot water was slow to get hot, and I had to flush the toilet a few times for it to work

The kitchen in the suite
The water was off from 11:30 to 3:30 and it was my Anniversary and planned a romantic breakfast for my wife which , was cancelled due to the Hammer and nails and construction that was being done above or next to our room.
