I have stayed at Becks several times and I love staying there. Great location, free parking, great staff, very clean and well kept up property.
I had a confirmed reservation through Booking.com for a King room and when I called Becks about a week before my arrival date I was told that Becks did not have a reservation for me and there no King rooms available. The agent at Becks told me that if I wanted a room I would have to take a Queen and that it would be around $200 more than I had reserved the King room for. Since I needed the room I had to take it, but I sure am disappointed that I was not given a reasonable explanation why my CONFIRMED ROOM was not available and also charged $200 more.

Ant infestation, woke up to ants all over our bags and the table and wall. We had to throw away a full bag of snacks for our trip because they got covered in ants. The bathroom wasn’t clean, toilet paper on the ground when arrived and hair in the shower and on the toilet.

Great location! Great price! Although we didn’t rent a car, the fact they provide free parking in SF is awesome!! I noticed even the budget friendly hotels like Holiday Inn were charging $65. a night to park. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Loved the retro vibe!

Parking is free, however it is limited. They don't have as many parking spaces as they do rooms. Usually not a problem, but something to be aware of.
The bed frames in our room had wooden legs at the corners. After the first time hitting toes, we wrapped them with towels.

I have stayed at Beck's several times since 2022. Generally, I have found it a good place to stay — decent rooms, great location for me (my old neighborhood), and the free parking is a huge plus.
This time I stayed for two nights and hot water was a constant issue. There wasn't any — unless you ran the shower for 20 minutes first. This had never happened before. Maddening.

We stayed here because my husband was a patient at UCSF. The location is very convenient and the free parking was a huge bonus. It was easy to take a Lyft to the hospital each day.
We picked a busy week in the city so the rates were quite high.

Room was a decent size, clean and updated. There was free parking and the bus stop was only a block away. We ate at Canela next door and it was fabulous. Highly recommend!

excellent location in the Castro. It is a basic motel that has been renovated very nicely. Aside form a terrace there are no public areas, but you don't need that since you are in the middle of the Catsro

Recently redone, Beck's is incredibly clean, convenient and decorated in mid-century urban chic style. It's not fancy, but it's crisp and friendly. Comfy beds; big bathrooms and really great newly tiled showers. Big flat screen wall mounted TVs, an in-room coffee maker and a small fridge make for a great stay. Fast Internet, too. If you're looking for something simple, economical and at the center of SF's LGBT neighborhood, this is it. One note: you ARE on the main thoroughfare of Market Street, so sometimes the conveniently provided earplugs can come in useful. But, I didn't need them. It's a block from the Castro MUNI underground, but it's also, as the name implies, a "Molor Lodge." Plenty of parking for registered guests.

Very close to the Castro theater. We were able to walk to our event very quickly. Ed was very nice when we arrived and the gates to go upstairs and to the elevator had keycard access only which we loved.
The noise was a bit much from the busy road. There also wasn’t a latch lock on the door for the added security to the room.

Great location in the Castro - tons of good restaurants, coffee shops, and stores in walking distance, safe and residential area, and can hop on the streetcar right out front for a quick ride up to Ghirardelli Square, Pier 39, and Alcatraz. Free parking!! Parking lot had plenty of space. Room was large, bathroom was clean and recently updated. Personally I had no issues with noise at night. Great value for the price in San Francisco!
Exterior doors aren’t my favorite in a hotel, but there was gated access to the upper levels which helped me feel safer. No real amenities here other than a vending machine and ice machine, but I’d rather not pay extra for a gym I won’t use and continental breakfast I won’t eat, anyways.

Friendly staff. Our rooms were nicely furnished with newly remodeled bathrooms with nice deep shower/bathtub was nice. We enjoyed the rainfall shower head. The property was clean and well kept. Safe parking for my car was a big plus as well. I appreciate that prior to check in that our rooms were located at the back of the building l, which had been recommended by the motel staff and were much appreciated, and assured us a good night sleep. We took the stairs at one point during our stay and they too were clean and well kept. The ice and vending machines were close by and accessible which were nice also.
Only thing I can even think of that I would improve is the 3 steps leading into the office looked at. The steps are hard to navigate.

The guy at reception when I arrived was so unwelcoming, he could have just thrown the key card in my face it'd have been the same. He should not be client facing, he clearly wanted to be somewhere else. The price is the main thing I didn't like - in a nutshell, it was overpriced. There's no mini bar, nowhere to buy food in the hotel, it's on the main road and your window has people walking past it constantly, it's a motel that costs as much as a 5 star. I would not come back.

Great location. Great staff. We’ve emailed about our arrival time, it was earlier than the standard check in time, and we’ve got our room ready when we arrived, pretty nice and sweet! Walking distance to the Castro Theatre, really convenient! There’re some Taco places nearby, don’t miss that!

I wanted to love Beck’s, but… The bed was comfy and room good size, but I could hear every word of the conversation of my neighbors until 1AM. There was a nice size bathroom, but the hot water only worked intermittently. The place has an awesome location, so it’s popular, but the heater makes weird sound, so they have to provide space heater.
I did not have hot water in sink or in shower at night after concert, so I had to washcloth lukewarm quick, then go to bed dirty. It was like staying in a mountain hut! Brr…
I did have hot water the next morning, so eventually got a shower.
