But to be honest, it was not the food what I dislike the most, was the fact that everything was served in "only one-use plastic containers" For me it's important that a place is as much "ecofriendly as posible and this place did not meet my expectations.

The room was so tiny and I had never seen 2 single beds at a hotel. It was like half of a room, there was like 3/4 of a wall under the ceiling and on the top of it another single bed. It gave me anxiety and I felt claustrophobic.

First, cleaning is poor. I found very disturbing plastic bag, the furniture kept opening and the overall feel of the hotel gave me goosebumps. One member of staff was super sweet - he warn me to be careful since I was staying there for a week. He said that staff at the property is like a naci since I had a service dog. Well his words did not lie. The hotel kept calling me with rules I broke in regards of not having Kate visitors and my dog puked on the sheets and I got charged 700 for the damages. They say I kept bringing in homeless people and that the room was damaged. Well , I have see. Worst things in hotels laundry than a puke if a puppy on their 100 years old sheets, not forget to mention my pillow case had a blood stain on it. No wonder why reviews are only 3.5 as I shall sometimes read them before booking. It was a horrible horrible thanksgiving thanks to them as I left the next day coz I couldn’t stand their bullying and unprofessional behavior and heads up for a short guy at the reception with longish hair - Indian . That guy us evil as he made all the accusations against me as an excuse for them to charge me 700 dollars out of my cart for damages. Nonsense.

Ideal location in the Centre near Union Square, and in an affordable hotel with lower prices than most. The room was small-ish but there was sufficient space and the bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and large too. It was quiet. Staff were helpful and friendly. There was free coffee throughout the day.
The continental breakfast was ok but not substantial, although it was sufficient.

Location and price were good, Generally it seems better to stay up a little further towards top of Nob Hill to have fewer vagrants as well so that was a minus on the location, but not their fault and SF is getting better. The desk was manned 24/7 and the staff was friendly. They accomodated my room change for less noise.
The automated wake up service was a little off (was set to East Coast time). Decor wasn't as good (tacky ceiling fans, etc.) Location would be better one or two stops up Nob Hill.

Bed: sheets - clean, four pillows. I'd say its way better than similar class hotels in SF.
Room: Several electrical sockets in the room. 5-6 hangers for suit/shirts.
Bathroom: generous amount of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel available.
Iron and board available at reception (while board was small but usable).
Overall, compared to similar price hotels I've visited in SF throughout 8 years: Fitzgerald hotel has good bathroom, clean bed and professional reception (it seems like they worked at higher caliber hotels before)
Check in problems: During the registration they gave me wrong room and I went into other persons room (I've seen that resident's clothes , luggage, etc). I came back and got another room. That new room was clean and ready except I found out that the fridge was full of take-out food boxes. They cleaned fridge while i was out running my errands. For this experience I was offered "some kind of compensation", but I did not get one.
Breakfast: breakfast are very poor, basically bread and topping + apple + drink. However products are fresh and there is a microwave if you have breakfast of your own. Alternatively just across the street you can find good breakfast restaurants.
Elevator is quite old, but quiet and usable.

only thing was the remote.. one didn't work, the other looked simple but turned out to be a bit more complexed.. a cheat sheet on how to use the remotes.. *which one is for what/and I think someone who may not be used to the variety of channels may be overwhelmed at first and the little remote was very "touchy/sensitive"... just a cheat sheet on how to use it if unfamilar...

The hotel is centrally located, safe to go around and makes it easy to get to spots like Fisherman's Wharf, Lombard Street via public transport. What's wonderful though is the way the staff are so friendly and considerate. We were able to check in early as it was available at the time and it has given us a great start to our trip. Huge thanks to Eric for seeing two girls who needed a much-needed rest! Your kindness was really appreciated.
Breakfast only had a few options of toast, cereal and fruit but didn't bother us as much since we only eat light anyway.

As I stated in what I did like there was a man that worked nights the first two nights that we were there that was awesome however the daytime early morning gentleman was very rude and I didn't appreciate that the only other thing that was very surprising was how small the room was these rooms are very very small if you get a two bed and it's literally two beds in a room that should only have one and there is no closet if you want to hang something up you open up this what you think is a closet and you can literally only put one coat in it sideways so as far as being a bigger room or anything like that it is not do not count on it three people in the two bedroom was too many it's that small

It has almost everything you need if you are traveling on your own and mostly just stay for the night. The mattress is decent; good hot water; provides disposable cups and hairdryer; provides body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Also great location, convenient to go everywhere and come back.
The room I am staying has a window that faces a small vertical ‘tunnel’: you get fresh air, but only very little of them. The power sockets are located at awkward positions. No small toothpaste is provided. The bed sheet is not the best. The fridge in my room makes noise at night. Also there is no microwave in my room.
