At first I thought the hotel had closed because someone told me so, and the side door was a bit hidden and sometimes only opening access with the hotel card. I then called the hotel and was informed that it still exists.
There is no breakfast, although it is advertised as such, instead you can brew 4 cups of coffee in the room by yourself.
If you don't ask for, they don't do room service, so you have to inform the reception in the morning that you need service. Two times the room service left the door open despite my complaints; someone could have stolen the suitcases. It was a nice place to stay overall, with a few issues.

The room was in perfect condition, clean, and had new facilities. Cute, and the beds were very comfortable.
Unfortunately, our room was located opposite the road and park. A lot of homeless people were very loud and unable to have a good night's rest. I believe any of the other rooms would have been a better fit. Not so safe for female or very young travelers as our Uber driver advised not to walk the neighborhood at night. Nothing to do with the hotel itself.

Awful location. Be very careful at night in the surrounding blocks. Our car was broken into. The lobby didn't have any amenities working. The tap pours aren't ready and the espresso machine was broken. Missing many little room things. No USB ports, body wash was empty, no bathmat, no storage or drawers at all, no hangers in the closet. Very minimal. Hair in the shower.

The hotel was a short walk from civic. Name of the street was easy to remember, and the hotel sign was very visible.
The staff was kind and respectful, I am not an early riser but the cleaning staff never bothered me, and when they try to get your attention they knock and ask first.
The room is spacious and clean, it doesn’t have carpet which I prefer. It also has a coffee maker. The Bathroom is spacious and well lit. It was well stocked shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, handsoap AND hydrating face cream dispensers! And a copious amount of towels. The room is clean and has a/c.
Great location, quick and easy walk to shopping area and if you don’t mind not rushing and walking, you can walk all the main attractions and more.

But good to know if you plan to book. It’s about the surrounding, not only at the hotel but you see it and hear it everywhere. SF is a BIG city.
For light/sensitive sleepers: it is noisy.
For those who are easily scared/sensitive in general: The homeless people are very visible and sometimes in groups . (I had to get used to it, but the man at check-in told me that they usually don’t bother people, but stay alert.)
However , I also saw some sort of city/neighborhood security. (not police)

We went to San Francisco to see a band at the Great American Music Theater. Literally a 4 minute walk from the hotel. We also wanted to be centrally located to reach China Town, museums and to walk to other interesting places. We liked the location vibe. Great bars, Vietnamese restaurants, city vibe.
If your looking for luxury this is not for you. You will see the seedy side of San Francisco out your window.

I liked the old elevator.
The room was dirty from the moment we walked in. Stains on the counters, hand prints all over the mirrors and tv. Very disappointing cleanliness. On top of that, the sink head was broken, the water came out a little bit yellow when the faucet was first turned on and our toilet was leaking. Lol this place was a joke. A sad attempt to remodel one of San Franciscos older buildings. Unfortunately as well, the location of this hotel is in a very bad part of the city…not that there are a lot of nice places around the city. In the end my boyfriend and I ended up leaving a night early because we were so disappointed with our stay. We were not refunded of course. Oh my god almost forgot to mention the hotel does not have parking and the only safe option for us was a valet parking lot around the block that we paid $110 for 3 nights. This whole experience was a waste of my money. Do not recommend at all.

First thing my Uber driver said to us was “I would recommend you get a different hotel in a different area”. Not great to hear first time you are getting out of the car in San Fransisco. That was the main reason why I wouldn’t stay here again. night time it is very loud in the streets around the hotel and I honestly did not walk the streets at night and would not recommend that. I did feel safe walking the streets during the day. They have locked doors at the front doors of the hotel, so once I was inside the hotel, I felt safer. No hangers in closet. Tv was blue the whole time we were there and we did not know how to fix it. Ice machine and elevator were broken first day we got there and was not fixed until after we left.

Everything. It is located in a drug deranged area. We booked for 3 nights and left after the 2nd. You will get no sleep.
No aircon, no breakfast, even though they said it was available.
Electrical switches and plugs were faulty and the tap dripped all night. Not that you could hear it with all the junkies going crazy outside.
Do not try to walk out of the hotel, you will be robbed.

The service was terrible. No assistance from management. They disabled my keys because of a mistake on their end then charged me an additional amount when I checked out. Don’t stay here, everything is outdated. Staff is not friendly and ammenities are not up to good standard.

The hotel is in one of the roughest areas in the city which we didn't know until we got there. However, there is someone at the desk 24/7, the door to the hotel has to be opened with your room key and it's easy to get Ubers from right outside. Not good for parking though, if you have your own car.

Recently renovated, pretty nice room (modern, big, and clean). Getting food and coffee any time of the day in walking distance from the hotel wasn't a problem.
If you know the city you know it's a zombie apocalypse of a location (but also everything's is in walking distance). The card key worked 2/10 times: we constantly needed to go back down to reception to fix it (but always permanently). No shampoo/soap.

Its the edge of the Tenderloin but really its Little Saigon. Bus stop is right out front, and within a block you have a short walk to a very good deli/grocery, delicious pho restaurants, bahn mi takeout, bars, etc. The price was very affordable. Staff was good.
There is NO AIR CONDITIONING! The property description on booking.com clearly states this hotel has air conditioning but it absolutely does not. Our room had a ceiling fan. It was ok at night but it got hot and stuffy during the afternoon. This is FALSE ADVERTISING and needs to be corrected. The other big drawback is no refrigerator available in rooms. The rooms are also quite small and it was very cramped with three of us in a double room.

Neighborhood due to dirty sidewalks and environment was not a great experience to walk outside. To be fair, we were still able to walk around and no one bothered us. The windows of the room did not close. This would not be a big deal. However there was big noise, street party and petrol cars trying to control the chaos in the night. That ruined the sleep for the family.

I am writing this review to document a very frustrating and disappointing experience with Motel 6.
At the time of this incident, I was on vacation in Texas, staying at another hotel I had booked through Booking.com. Wanting to ensure everything went smoothly for my daughter, I called Motel 6 in advance to confirm she could check in on my behalf, since I would be paying with my credit card. The staff member assured me this would not be a problem, as long as the reservation was made in her name. I explained that I would complete the booking once she arrived, and they agreed.
When my daughter reached the motel, she handed the phone to the same receptionist I had spoken with so I could confirm the arrangement directly. I proceeded to book the room, and the receptionist confirmed everything was fine before handing the phone back to my daughter. She was told the reservation went through, and we believed the matter was settled.
However, only a few minutes later, my daughter was informed she could not stay because she was 20 years old and not 21. I immediately called the motel, and the receptionist told me the reservation had been canceled, that there would be no charge, and that I should contact Booking.com for further assistance. He also stated that I would receive an email as proof of cancellation.
So they sent me the email, but for some reason they put "change of plans" for the reason of cancellation. When I contacted Booking.com, they informed me that Motel 6 had not provided any cancellation notice and, in fact, reported that my daughter had stayed at the property. As a result, I was charged nearly $200 for a two-night stay that never occurred.
This is unacceptable. I was assured there would be no charge, yet I was billed for services not rendered. I should not have to escalate this matter through my bank to dispute a fraudulent charge. I respectfully request a full refund of the $200.

The bed’s were alright.
The location. Sirens going off all night. Booked a king room and they just gave me whichever room was available. Too many homeless people and tweakers in the area. Also the door safety latch was broken and glued back on like that was going to do anything smh! No PARKING!

It’s was a cool room because it was a corner room.
We couldn’t check-in at 3. We checked in 2 hours later because cleaning didn’t show up. It was dirty and hot and smelled like pot everywhere.
