Full service hotel in the safe shopping/restaurant district of Union Square, steps from Chinatown and financial downtown. Courteous and friendly staff taking their time to help or advise you. Excellent full breakfast buffet (extended operation 7am-11am!) with a chief cooking your eggs to your preference. Nicely decorated, restaurant (snacks and burgers) and cocktail bar with views on the Powell-Mason cable car. Spacious and clean room well furnished and elegantly decorated with efficient Wi-Fi and comfortable desk. Exactly what you expect from a Marriott hotel.

I am not used to this unpleasant practice of being charged daily a 'destination fee' of 25 USD without consent, which in fact obliges you to have lunch or dinner at the hotel every day if you don't want to loose the value of this daily fee. Note that many other SF hotels do that.

I encountered Fernando (the doorman) last year when I had an injury. I wasn't yet a guest but I was passing, and he saw that I needed help and gave me a hand and tips for safety. I promised myself that if I were ever in SF, I would stay at this hotel where this beacon of old world manners took such care of me. I was not disappointed

Great location, just a block or two away from Union Square, shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. Area felt relatively safe, given the well-known issues in SF. Highly recommend this hotel/location.

Staying in SF always comes with a substantial cost for parking. In this case, the Parking Fee is ~$70/night. There is also an additional Hotel Fee of ~$29 which can be recovered through various options (i.e. breakfast credit, trolley passes).

The hotel is well located and the breakfast was good. The staff was also friendly.

We booked two rooms for one night and for each room the final price was about 50 USD higher than the booking price. After challenging the receptionist about that, she was unable to explain the difference except mentioning a tax that was clearly stated as already included in the booking price. After insisting that they should charge us the price confirmed during the booking, she said they "could not match that price". Unacceptably unprofessional.

The location is great, the hotel is clean and quiet.

I booked a room with 2 beds + sofa bed, the confirmation email even states : "The unit offers 3 beds." But when we arrived we've been told there were no sofa bed. So we were missing one bed. The hotel had no solution beside a complete refund which was not a good solution except if you like sleeping in the streets.

The location was good, the hotel was clean, staff were friendly and the room and views from it were very good. Amenities were good including a reasonably equipped gym.

Very disappointed about the destination fee. This was an additional $30 cost per day which was mandatory but could be used to offset the cost of drinks, food and some tours. It wasn't at all clear from the Booking.com website that this was payable. It was also unclear from the explanation at hotel reception that this was an additional charge regardless of whether we chose to offset this against food or drinks. Essentially this was an additional $270 we hadn't accounted for (over 9 nights).

The property is close to all restaurant and groceries. It is a walking distance. Enough space for 4 people accomodations.

The parking garage and wi-fi are payable. It is not complimentary for the amount you pay for 3 nights stay at the hotel. It is really hard to see a decent hotel at San Francisco. Do a little hard search if you would to be nice staying at this city.
