it was pretty and the grounds were beautiful!
They are very short staffed. We had breakfast 3days and were served our toast first, then breakfast and lastly our juice. We stayed there 4 days and our room was never cleaned, but paid full price. The rooms are slightly outdated, our room was dark especially in the washroom and television system was horrible.

Before checking in there is a phone number to call to make adjustments. I never heard back from anyone. No one ever picked up the phone and no one returned the phone call. I am now looking for an itemized bill and have no idea how many times I need to reach out to you to get it.

Location was excellent! Right on a main road to get to other areas in Scottsdale, but just removed and quite enough to get away from the business of down town Scottsville. Staff was very kind as well!
A lot of things were short staffed so sometimes service at the restaurant, etc was not very fast/convenient depending on when you were there.

The food was good and the pool and front desk staff was incredible, diner staff and bar staff great too. I was very happy. I asked for a drink with strawberries and the bartender (name started with a k?) made a very crafty personalized drink which the gesture was incredible.
We got dinner, there was only one server in the whole dining room so we appreciated the hustle but it did have us there longer than anticipated. Also TV in our room randomly stopped working but it was before check out so it wasn’t too inconvenient. AC units weren’t great but it wasn’t bad, I heard they are being replaced

Quiet and professionally run.
While I appreciate that the facility wanted to ensure guest satisfaction, the daily use of text messaging was an unwanted, and intrusive interruption. The request for a contact number at check-in was not given as a “opt in” permission to contact, nor was it requested for that purpose. As a guest(particularly one at a luxury property), allow us, not the facility to determine if we need assistance. We’re pretty capable of contacting if there’s a request or issue.
Separately, the pool area felt very much below the standard of a luxury resort. Tired, underwhelming ambience, staff that looked worn-out, a weak over-priced for value Cabana program, extremely limited food offerings, and a lifeless, no energy feel presented the amenity as an afterthought, not a feature. Recognizing that the pool at this resort would never be appropriate as a “Vegas-like” environment, it came-across as an afterthought. It’s as if hotel management gathered weekly in some meeting with staff and said “what do we do with the pool?” To which the response was “I dunno”, and it just gets tabled weekly with zero improvement…

The inside of the hotel was dark and gloomy and our room seemed like it was very humid inside. The hallways were the same so we didn't try and change rooms figuring they were all the same. 2 night stay so we just dealt with it.
For the amount we paid I would say it did not meet expectations.

We were happily surprised to find the hotel beautiful, old, grand style and clean. The staff were dedicated, polite, and friendly. Spa massages were wonderful! Breakfast was very good, esp the granola, fruit and yogurt with agave! Beautiful setting and furniture. Definitely would go back if in the Scottsdale area.

The hotel overall is lovely, we will visit again. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was spotless. Pool area was really nice too.
Our “pool view” room had no view. Our window looked into the back of the pool cabanas. The pool has lots of “reserved with towels” loungers that we never saw anyone use. We struggled to get a spot each day.

The spa was great. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating.
Walked in room, first thing I saw were dirty base boards and doors. It's okay that the hotel is older but these areas looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. Asked for a pool view, got a view of a roof top and a glimpse of the pool. They were doing maintenance on the hot water which we were notified about when we got there. Said it would be Tuesday and Wednesday night but ended up being Thursday also. So each evening we were there we didn't have any hot water. The hotel didn't discount the rate or offer anything for the inconvenience until I complained about the hot water for Thursday. Then they offered $100 of the $1200 back. The water pressure was also messed up. So when you did shower the water would fluctuate from low to high. We were also given a room on the third floor away from everything. We never even saw another guest in the area of our room.

Beds were great for my 75-year old back.
Staff - from valet park man to front desk ladies and man, to restaurant staff - great!
We could not enter the workout/gym area with either of our keys - a staff member from spa went there and made adjustment to door so guests could access.
Daughter has allergy to gluten. Waiter did not provide her with GF meal that she requested, and so she had to return that plate. On his return, he suggested gnocchi. That also has gluten, and would have made her very ill. A bit more staff training on this issue would be the answer.

Location was very good. Madames had a delightful decor and ambience, with very friendly staff on both nights that we visited there.
