The staff at check in was friendly, although they did want to charge me a second time for a hot min because there was some disconnect with the payment getting from booking.com to them... so that was a bit annoying but ultimately they said they'd have their manager look at it later.
The room was generally fine. Appreciated that it was dog friendly. Generally walkable to a bunch of sites.
At checkin I was told I could request a kettle or coffee maker for my room so I requested a kettle. They didn't bring the kettle... so we had to request it again and it took them ~45 min to bring it up... along with a couple pretty sad looking teas. There were also zero amenities (eg qtips, shower cap) already in the room, or if they were in there, they were hidden well.
The bathroom was tight - the shower smelled like chlorine when you opened the door, which was odd. The water pressure from the sink was too strong - it washed not just your hands, but the entire counter and your pants.
Since the hotel has the rooftop and other attractions in it, there are a lot of non-guests staying at the hotel. Which is fine but... had a bit of an encounter with some rude rooftop bar guests in the elevator. I'd personally prefer a less hip hotel if it means getting to my room without random people being jerks to me.

We had a wonderful stay! The rooms were not only very comfortable, but also had a unique touch with lovely vinyl records and a player, which made the atmosphere even more special. Celia, our hostess, was incredibly warm and welcoming, ensuring we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Her hospitality truly made the experience memorable. We appreciate all the thoughtful details and can’t thank her enough for making our visit so enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Excellent location. They upgraded our rooms so we can have a connecting room with my son. Rooms are very quiet and beds are confortable. Lots of room to store our luggage and clothes. The restaurant is excellent. I liked the feel of the hotel and its political exhibits.
No coffee in rooms and the coffee in the lobby is a bad drip coffee. No breakfast but the coffee shop in the lobby is good but crowded.

Excellent location and great room. Within walking distance of most of downtown D.C. and a six minute walk from two metro stations. The window opened and that was a plus. Relaxed lighting was nice.
Parking was unclear as was bringing up our luggage. Was fine once figured out. No complimentary breakfast. If you don’t like barking dogs keep in mind you may hear some as they are pet friendly, but it didn’t bother me.

No breakfasts offered, but a nice bakery is co-located on ground floor. Elevators are the fastest I have ever seen - never had to wait. Hotel is very social justice and environmentally conscious, hence it attracts a very "hip" and progressive crowd, which we love. The rooftop bar is a great space - alive, friendly, where the action is. The staff are the friendliest around. Location is perfect for DC.
Rooms could be a little larger.

It's beautiful and intriguing and makes you want to explore. Also the Muslim gentleman who helped me with my things was an absolute pleasure. Very helpful, kind and respectful - thank you!
I enjoyed everything except for a particular bartender at Michelle's who was very unenthused. He was very uninviting even when asking about drinks. He seemed "over it" and it was only maybe 6pm. When I did not enjoy my oysters he did not offer anything different - just said "sorry you don't like them..." He's the reason I did not want to come back to the restaurant.

The hotel itself, eateries, room and staff were fantastic! Everyone was super welcoming to our pup that traveled with us. It was a bit of a walk to the main sites, but we knew that when booking and were fine with that.
The only downside to this hotel is the rooftop bar. There was security and a full crowd overfilling the lobby area every night to get up to the bar. I had to cut my way through people several times (with my dog) just to get back to my room. I'm sure the bar itself is very nice, but I wish the hotel was better catered to the guests who are actually paying to stay there, rather than to the bar crowd.

The shower head really was strong and put out a strong stream of water. The room was clean.
At checkin the girl could hardly be heard because her voice was so soft and high. The room (the study) was too small especially the bathroom. There needed to be more plugs for phones next to the bed and in bathroom. There wasn’t enough shelves to put things on in the bathroom. The record player and records took up valuable room; a dumb decoration. There was no free coffee for the guests in the lobby. Had to pay for everything we drank or ate. I waited in line for 30 min. for coffee and a roll at the Bakery downstairs. Only 2 people were working. - Got one small apple pastry to go at night and the bill was 22.00! - There was only BET TV stations being played 24/7 in the hotel lobby. - All in all, the value for what we got was expensive especially after taxes, valet parking, and fees added to the bill. -

Check in and out staff was very friendly and professional, as was all the staff we encountered.
We had a very good meal at Michele's. The wait staff was very inexperienced, or untrained, which took away from our dining experience, however, they were very friendly, and tried hard.
The bed was hard (I like that though) and very comfortable, as were the pillows. Bed linens and towels were decent quality.
Definitely wish we had known that the nightclub played such a prominent role at this hotel. This is no "rooftop bar", but a nightclub that happens to have tables and plants on a deck around it. There were lines of loud, and some drunk people waiting to go up the elevators both nights. Quite frankly, it was a little intimidating. To his credit, the security guard was removing people who jumped on the elevator that was supposed to be reserved for hotel guests, so we were finally able to go up to our room.
The bake shop is nothing special. Very few sweet, baked items. What they had did not taste homemade, although the breakfast burrito was good.
We usually stay in 4-star hotels. I would not say this hotel would be considered a 4-star. The entire property was a bit tired looking, and run down. I can see why, with all the people coming in and out for the bar.

The record player made up for the fact that the TV wasn't streaming, and low water pressure in the shower was a bit underwhelming, but truly a wonderful place and space <3

I love the location, front staff are accommodating, and the style of Eaton DC is warm and inviting.
The cleaning of my room wasn’t consistent from day to day. I had a day when I didn’t get fresh mugs. Generally, the room looked clean and I’m happy for the service. I also experienced internet outage for several hours, which was inconvenient because I couldn’t work or watch TV, but I was given another option after asking the staff.

I Would I recommend this hotel? Yes—but with some major caveats.
The customer service and accommodations were solid. They upgraded my room to a suite for my birthday, which I really appreciated. We actually chose this hotel because of its beautiful aesthetic, cultural vibe, and inclusiveness—especially toward the LGBTQ+ community. The music theme throughout the space was a nice touch too.
But the main reason I booked this hotel was for the rooftop. I imagined a chill, laid-back evening with a nice view and good energy. Unfortunately, the rooftop is not what’s advertised—it's actually a loud nightclub. If you’re staying on the 5th floor or higher, be prepared to hear the music and party crowd most of the night.
The rooftop isn’t even for hotel guests; it’s a public venue with long lines and strict security. Security was a huge letdown. I experienced being stereotyped and treated unfairly. One guard tried to make me stand in a long line just to get to my room, while white guests were allowed to walk in without issue. When I asked about it, the guard said, “They live here,” to which I responded, “So do I.” Another guard tried to smooth it over, but I was still told to stand in line.
This happened multiple times—even though I paid $770 for the room and an additional $400 security deposit. At some point, I started going straight to the elevator without waiting, and one of the guards called me rude and became combative.
My partner and I initially loved the hotel and had plans to return, but after dealing with the club noise, the elevator issues (one was broken for a day), drunk men hitting on us, being touchy feely in the elevator, violating space, (one guy even got off the elevator trying to follow us to our room), and the disrespect from security, we’ve decided to stay elsewhere next time.
Its stated above

Very good room with a library and good music turn table. Excellent staff.
It would have been great if the hotel served breakfast.

The property had all you could need in one spot (restaurant, cafe, speakeasy, rooftop lounge and open spaces for hanging out). Loved the record player in the room.
After some crowds of people went to the rooftop lounge the elevators were a little dirty. My room also wasn’t cooling down with the AC being on all hours.

I loved my stay! The hotel has such a fun vibe with tons of events and activities, it really felt like more than just a place to sleep. They even upgraded my room, which made everything even better! The space was amazing, and I loved how there were different areas around the hotel. Definitely a great spot if you want a fun and unique experience in D.C.
It could have breakfast and a microwave in the bedroom

Great location!
Overall, my stay in Washington, D.C. was pleasant. However, I encountered an issue with the front desk during check-out. I was informed that my reservation through Booking.com did not include amenity fees and was subsequently charged for them. After double-checking with Booking.com, I confirmed that these fees (labeled as 'resort fees') had already been paid. As a result, I had to contact the hotel to void the incorrect charge. This unnecessary mistake should not have occurred.

The hotel has a great energy and there is something for everyone. The place feels like it has a persona outside of just a hotel and rather a contributor to the local community setting. The food offering is excellent and the facilities are great. Would highly recommend.
The AC unit was very loud when it turned on / off throughout the night.

Amazing spot to just about anything around the Walter E. Convention center! Room is extremely spacious and feels very homey!
Just the bell man. A little rude to me and I felt like just make them do more work from his attitude.

The staff were friendly. We liked the vibe with the record player in the room and the dj booth in the lobby. Onsite restaurant and coffee shop was a bonus. Both had great food. The neighborhood was walkable and felt safe even at night.
The lighting in the bathroom was a bit dark

It had a great atmosphere and the cafe that’s part of it was so good we loved the almond croissant
It’s not completely a bad thing but they have a club or something upstairs so getting up and down the elevator at night can take awhile

Loved the vibes! Super comfortable, great location. Loved the coffee shop downstairs.
The only minor inconvenience is that the elevator gets very busy at night, you might need to wait a while when trying to get to the 8th floor.

This hotel is really good. I’m very picky, but they weee top notch: great service, clean, great vibe, not overly expensive. I’ve already booked my next stay in DC!

We stayed for one night, and it was pleasant. Convenient location to the metro. Room was quiet and cozy.
Our room lacked a lot of the small details that you’d expect of a one Michelin key hotel. The record player was broken. The TV didn’t work. The overhead lamp wasn’t plugged in and was difficult to access. The shower head was spraying water out the top. The sink was leaking onto the toiletries beneath it. The bookshelves were dusty. The staff during check-in and check-out was also not particularly friendly. Nothing made us want to come back to the Eaton the next time we’re in DC.

1. The location was easy to find and the neighborhood walkable. I felt comfortable in the area.
2. I loved the hardwood flors.
3. The bed is comfortable.
4. I would like to recognize Simone. Simone is warm, very personable, and professional. She deserves recognition and raise or promotion opportunities. People make the difference and are an important part of your stay.
Provide disposable hand soap as an option. I am nit picking.
Valet parking was difficult to find.

I enjoyed how responsive staff was to the few needs I had. For example, I wanted to get ice for my cup at 12 am. While they didn’t have an ice maker, the front desk attendant made the effort to get me some. Additionally, it’s close to a few bus stops, a train station, and a few cafes and restaurants (it even has two connected to the hotel). Lastly, some staff are bilingual, which kinda shocked me in a good way.
My only “complaint” is the light situation in the rooms. In order to use the lights in the bathroom, you need to insert your key card in a slot close by.
This may be a more cost effective way to handle unused lights. But for me personally, I would rather a regular switch without the use of it. I called the front desk to ask about it and they gave me the skinny.
