Only 984 feet from Vienna Main Train Station and the Südtiroler Platz Underground Station (line U1), Hotel Zeitgeist Vienna Hauptbahnhof offers rooms with free high-speed WiFi and a restaurant. The fitness room with modern TechnoGym equipment and the sauna with infrared cabin are available to guests free of charge. The air-conditioned rooms come with large windows, comfortable beds, a large flat-screen cable TV and a bathroom with a shower or a bathtub.

Some rooms have an own terrace. Our breakfast restaurant Frannys offers an organic quality and regional buffet with 100% plantbased and homemade specialties. À la carte dishes are served in the Lokal, Café & Bar Pergola.

Close to main station, great transport links although most places a reasonable walking distance. Very cheerful greeting every morning at breakfast. Breakfast ok but limited for veggie/non pork eater

The only positive was that the room itself was clean and modern.

We requested a baby cot immediately after booking and received written confirmation. However, upon check-in at 10 p.m., the receptionist could not confirm whether it was in the room. When we entered the room, there was a strong smell of smoke and no baby cot. Although we were moved to another room, staff said they could not provide a cot until the next day. The following morning, we were told no baby cot was available at all, despite the prior confirmation. Even after speaking with the manager and being reassured, we returned at 5 p.m. to find no housekeeping service and still no cot. Only after multiple complaints was one finally provided. Reception staff were generally unfriendly and often ignored us. For a four-star hotel, the service felt closer to a two-star level. We would not stay here again and recommend choosing a better option in Vienna.

The location was very convenient as it was really close to the train station so we had easy access to everything (airport, city centre etc). One night we decided to eat dinner there, I had a chicken burger at the bar in the lobby it was very good and tasty but expensive. Almost €19 euros without any fries that is unacceptable. The hotel was clean overall and cosy. It was nice to have a gym as well.

One of the main reasons we booked this hotel and not any other was because it had a sauna. However, we were not able to use the sauna at all during our 4 day stay. Every time I went to use the sauna there were no towels or robes nothing. I went to the reception to ask for some towels and the lady there said with quite a rude tone that her colleague will bring some and that he needs some time (no apology nothing). So I said no problem, went back to the sauna area and waited for 15 minutes and nobody came. I called the reception from the phone in the spa area and asked again if we could have some towels as there was another couple there waiting for towels as well. The same lady as before answered the phone and said ‘my colleague needs time I told you!’ with a very rude tone again, Which to I replied okay and hanged up. Waited for another 25 minutes as well as the other couple next to me and nobody came and there was no sign of any towels for none of us and so I left and went back to my room. It was the staff member’s attitude that really made our stay less pleasant than expected not so much the fact that there was no towels hence the rating. She was very rude and I hope this is taken into consideration for further training of your staff and their behaviour.

- room doors don’t have auto-closers on them, be careful or your door will be left open, so many open in the hallways, security risk and major problem if there’s a fire. - rooms felt like prison cells, clinical and cold. - no tea making facilities in room or fridges - restaurant cafe in lobby was terrible - frosty welcoming, feel as though you are checking in for a flight - location seems great when looking at transport but in reality it’s a terrible place if you need to get to the airport (the train leaves from inner city mall) - owners think they can sell a book about their average hotel to guests lol

Location is very close to train station, so it's well connected by public transport. Room is spacious. There's gym and sauna, but I haven't used them during my stay.

I didn't like the fact that the toilet was in a separate area from the sink. The entire shower area design was weird. The room didn't feel cleaned thoroughly. Also, the bed could use an extra pillow by default.

Bit smaller room than expected, but still very liveable. Most of the time was not being spent in the hotel room anyways as I was out and about seeing the sights. No tub in the room I stayed in, showers where very large however and excellent water pressure and consistent heat.

Had room only as we ate on the nearby high street. There was a cafe but we were budgetting for a long trip. A solid choice near HBF. Aircon was an important factor given the heat.

We were only provided with 1 pillow though we booked for 2. We reported it and another pillow appeared but didnt realise we also only had 1 towel and duvet cover. We put up with it rather than report it again given the late hour.
