Upon arrival at the hotel, we were immediately struck by the dark and spooky entry passage, which did not create a welcoming atmosphere. Our experience continued to decline as we discovered that the washrooms were shared rather than private, something we overlooked on Booking.com. This oversight cost us an additional ยฃ30 to secure a room with a private bathroom.
The room itself was poorly equipped, lacking both air conditioning and a fan despite the hot weather during our stay. Opening the windows for ventilation proved ineffective due to the constant noise from the restaurants below, making it impossible to sleep.
Moreover, the room's amenities were subpar. There was no proper bedsheet on the bed, and numerous insects were present. To top it off, all the soap bottles in the bathroom were empty.
Overall, this was a highly disappointing and uncomfortable stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and certainly will not be returning.

Shared toilet and shower rooms were a surprise to us, but it turned out not as inconvenient as we expected. We did not need to wait for our turn at all during our stay and the bathrooms and shower rooms were always clean and dry. I was a little disappointed that, unlike the description on the web, I did not see a washing machine. The talking and laughing noises could get so loud that woke me up several times in the middle of the night. I needed to get up to close the window though there was no air conditioning. However, because we valued cleaniness, convenience, comfort, safety and friendliness, these few surprises did not bother us too much.

Great concept and colours based on Alice in wonderland, rabbit buzzer for the door, and rooms marked with playing card numbers. Location close to Mariahilfstrasse and metro station, although very noisy from early morning to late night. Good hearted staff.
This is a hostel, not a bed and breakfast as advertised, located in the 1st floor of an old apartment building. The rooms are old and not renovated, with almost no furniture. All facilities are shared. Slow internet. The room had a terrible smell, and was too hot to sleep at night (no air con, no fan). Horrible communication with the staff, as they did not inform us that their location is part of short stay parking zone, and told us instead that it was free to park in the street. We managed to barely escape a traffic ticket by the kindness of the officer, and ended up parking at a very expensive garage. Overall expensive for what it offers, for the same price you can find a top rate business downtown hotel.

Pension Wienderland is the sweetest place Iโve ever stayed at, what I loved the most about this place were 3 things: it was spotless, so clean, it felt like home and the owners are so sweet, polite and super attentive, additionally, the wifi is super efficient, not to mention the location, quiet area and super close to everything and all means of transportation. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family once they visit Vienna.

The property was very close to the centre and few minutes away from the U3 and U4 underground stations which were a direct link to the main attractions.
Peter the host was super nice and the whole theme (Alice in Wonderland) was super detailed and cool!

Great location, we could easily walk in to the city. Nearest U Bahn station was at the top of the road. Lovely big double room with high ceilings and plenty of storage. Comfortable memory foam mattresses. Shared kitchen with free tea/coffee was a bonus. Amazing cafe/bakery in same road, with plenty of choices of places to eat within a stone's throw. Hosts Ildiko and her husband Peter were great, very friendly and helpful

Very friendly staff on site; super location ( a side street of the pedestrianized Mariahilfer Strasse, near public transport U3 and A13, Westbahnhof and Naschmarkt in easy walking distance); quirky decor, a well equipped kitchen facility for making drinks. We had a twin room which was light and spacious and everything has been in good working order for us.
The style might not be to everyone's taste and it might be a bit stuffy and basic for some. However we enjoyed the reminiscence of a 'student digs' atmosphere.

The location was great, near to the subway station and a big street market. A lot of choices to eat nearby. There is a shared kitchen where you can refill your water bottles, have a free tea or coffee. Also, the theme with alice and wonderland was funny! It was a really pleasant stay!

Without any exaggeration, for us it was "home away from home" experience. Small pension -- well equipped, nicely designed, very well organized . We felt that we were welcomed and cared for.
The location is very central (close to Mariahilfer str) , and still quiet.

The Pension was well located. Loved the Alice in Wonderland theme. The hosts were amazing. Free tea and coffee were always available. The rooms were spacious and very clean. . Everything about this property is quirky and wonderful! It is themed in Alice in Wonderland (but subtleโso it is never too much) The hosts are terrific and very communicative - after-hours entry is bizarre but the instructions are clear! Kitchen is huge and espressos and tea are free. My private room was enormously spacious and had a lovely huge window. Great light and great sleep!! Also fantastic location - super easy to walk anywhere - and the hosts again are so gracious and helpful with instructions and recommendations. She told me to see Hundert-Wasser Haus and if you are an Alice in wonderland fan then you should see it too!!
The place was completely silent at night while I was there and I was always worried I would wake someone by walking about or making a late night call overseas. On the other hand it was good to not take work calls on vacation! Haha. The bathroom is shared but I never had to wait for it. It is thorough the common room tho so if you choose this location, be aware to walk to showers or WC youโll want clothes and slippers

Instead of shower cabin, there was only shower curtain in the bathroom. So the floor was inevitably full of water after the shower.

Really nice location in Vienna with lots of good restaurants and shops nearby. The place was very clean and the room was comfortable. We were there on a particularly hot week and the room was very warm at night, but canโt help the weather. The place was quiet at night, even with the window open, which was nice. Very cool decorations and it was nice to have coffee in the morning.
Only downside was occasionally having to wait a minute to use the shared bathroom. Never had to wait for a shower stall though, the showers were above expectations!

I had a wonderful stay at Pension Wienderland. The location is excellent โ very close to Zieglergasse metro station and just a short ride to the city center. The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable.
The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, and they even allowed me to check into my room immediately upon arrival, which was a great surprise. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a budget-friendly, central stay in Vienna.

I come from a country known for its hospitality, but the hospitality of the hosts at Wienderland is next level :-) The kindness of the owners would be reason enough to stay, but there are many more reasons. First of all, the location of the property is excellent. It is in a quiet street, in a cozy neighbourhood, but only a few steps away from the main shopping area. I especially loved the charming theme of Alice in Wonderland, and all the little details at every corner. A lot of love has been invested in setting up the rooms. This is visible in the comfy bed, the beautiful bed linen, the modern furniture. I will give just two examples of how the hosts think of important details - this was one of the rare places in this price range where there was actually a double mattress on a double bed and not two singles and a gap in the middle. There was also an extension cable for charging gadgets - no need to make a schedule of who will be using the one or two outlets you usually get. Last but not least, the room was quiet and spotlessly clean. You will not regret booking this place and, if you are a child at heart, the lovely design will certainly lift your spirits!

The owners were great, hospitality was exceptional. The kitchen has everything you need. It's super cozy.
Having shared bathrooms and toilets. The rooms were incredibly large, it would have been perfect if there were private bathrooms inside the rooms.

Great neighbourhood and very friendly staff. There is a breakfast kitchen for everyone to use, which is so practical and also allows meeting others.
A bit hard to find, also I think while the main parts are really beautiful and thought through, the room would be even nicer with just a few extras (another picture on the wall f. ex., this way it is just the rather "basic" furniture). But I would absolutely book again!

The location was convenient to everything. We walked or took the subway. The shared kitchen was always clean. The room and bathroom was very clean. We only used it to store some food in the fridge and boil water in the kettle for the instant coffee we packed. I enjoyed the art posters on the wall. The queen size bed was comfortable, having two mattresses and blankets.
The shower was different. There's a metal drain cover in the corner, be sure to lift it off before you run the shower otherwise it floods the floor.

The location was good for walking to the centre of Vienna. The owner/operator, Idle was very welcoming and informative. I love the original glass in the windows. Everything was wavy when you looked out of the window. The street had lots of great bakeries and restaurants were nearby. The metro was close as well.
The Pension had a cute theme Alice in Wonderland so the furniture was kind of low and really funky colors. Rabbits everywhere visually interesting and artsy.
I came in the wrong door maybe number seven instead of number nine, so it was extremely confusing and the downstairs alleyways are very dark. Even the stairways arenโt really lighted. I donโt think at at night theyโre lighted. Once I get the keys, I was told I should be using door number nine. I would reach out to the owner and ask which door I should use if I was coming to the property the first time.
In the bedroom that I had there was no sink . Across the hall there were foyr stalls with a sink and a shower in each. The shower was decent and there was hair driers to use.
I only saw one bathroom for the ladies and one bathroom for the men.
The bed was fine. There was one pillow and one comforter with an IKEA polyester blend duvet cover.
Nothing luxurious just functional and still fitting with the Alice in Wonderland theme.

Really nice location, close to metro station with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. It is a bit difficult to find the place at first since there is not a big sign indicating it, but after that everything worked perfectly.
Friendly stuff, clean rooms and common rooms. Totally recommended for a short trip to Vienna
