The kitchen and shared spaces here are great! The breakfast is excellent (there's a staff member making fresh pancakes and keeping everything topped up).
The room I was in didn't really have space for luggage, so that was a bit tricky.
In the room there was an air freshener: it was horrible. The smell of it was so fake and disgusting. Every time it when off I tried not to breath it in. And it was quite loud when it went off. If they could get rid of this horrible thing, I think my experience would have been better.

I just liked the fact that the property was located at a good location. But there are better places to stay around which isn't a issue. Apart from that everything was horrible.
Room was stinking like anything. It was damn congested. No room for fresh air circulation. Even the light next to my bed wasn't working. If you cant take care of these things please don't take bookings. People spend their money to get a good experience and time not to be fooled like this. Photographs over the site is damn misleading and heavily edited.
Anyone who's thinking to book this property, don't fall for the trap and rather look for other stays! its not worth it at all.

The location is great, convenient for traveling, and only an 8-minute walk to the nearest metro station. The staff are friendly, and the public areas are very comfortable. It feels like a beautiful and well-designed hostel. Breakfast is included, and it has all the basics, which is very convenient.
There are two shower rooms on the second floor, and one has a toilet. It feels a bit insufficient because there are a lot of people showering in the morning and evening, which leads to waiting for the toilet. The staff provide bed sheets and pillowcases, but for some reason, they don’t provide duvet covers. Without a duvet cover, you can only use the same blanket that the previous guest used.

This was the best hostel that I've ever stayed in. Friendly service, decent breakfast, communal kitchen, welcoming living room, free luggage storage, and a small sink in the bedroom. I didn't have the opportunity to check out the terrace because I only spent one night in the hostel. I would come back again.
This is a common problem with all hostels and hotels that I stay in. I found the pillows a bit uncomfortable.

We enjoyed our time with you. The funny thing was we were expecting a hotel of about 2 of three stars and were surprised when we arrived that it was not a hotel. But even better though we found the bedroom and ensuite on the top floor was quite adequate for the price. So it was a student hostel in our language. But the benefit was we met such nice people and it was well situated.
The lighting could have been better. The long haul up the stairs was a bit of a shock. We are in our 80's!

It was an okay place, nothing like I read in the reviews before our arrival. Breakfast was okay minus, really not something special at all.
I did not find the place to be exceptional in any way and also I did not encounter any special help or assistance from the people in the property.
Room was tiny and noise was coming from outside the room within the property.

Washroom facilities seem squeezed into old buildings; they’re small and the sinks are often situated outside of the washrooms.
Also, we encountered smelly towels in the kitchen area several times - and there were issues making the aircondition work in our room. Could be a chance instance.

The whole experience at the hotel was amazing. The staff was super attentive and friendly and gave me lots of tips on what to do in Montreal. The location of the hostel is simply FABULOUS. Close to the subway, parks and the nicest neighborhoods to visit. The accommodations are good and comfortable and all the bed linen is delivered directly to the guest, meaning it is guaranteed to be clean. When I return to Montreal, I won't even think about staying anywhere else. Everything 10 out of 10.
Breakfast is not the best of the world. Pretty much OK, not bad nor marvelous.

+ Located roughly 700 metre to 1 kilometre walk to STM Sherbrooke Station or across the street bus stop uses 24 Sherbrooke Bus. A nice walk at least.
+ Great restaurants / shops / entertainments on Saint Dennis St. and St Laurent Blvd a walk away.
+ Plenty of public spaces for hangout or dining/eating on tables with chairs or benches or couch/sofa with table. Has rooftop Terrance which is beautiful and can use the BBQ up there too!
+ Ambience of main floor has some great music to get into the vibe with. The whiteboards and chalkboards fill with information was extremely useful. The decorations also were unique to the place as well.
+ Breakfast consist of a staff cooking pancakes, pre-made cold boiled eggs, individual packed yogurts, 4 kinds of slice bread, 4 types of spread (raspberry, strawberry, marmalade, margarine), a can of maple syrup, apple juice and instant/bean coffee. Which is great you can go for more, if you want.
+ Rooms have actual desk or 2 to sit on and study or research or gaming on the laptop. Great.
+ Power bar outlets on the bunk beds.
+ Uses key system not card system to enter rooms. Its 50/50 for me. Just to keep in-mind all the time to not forget the key.
+ 11pm rules of quiet.
+ Easy access to the WIFI and very strong signal in any area within the building.
+ Price is amazing for my stay of 4 days 3 nights.
- Not for disability people or walking impaired people. The stairs are moderately steep incline, so might need to adjust/adapt your steps. No elevators of course.
- Some, maybe 1 but not all, of the shower and/or toilet rooms have problems with locks or door won't shut which is concerning, but the people/guest are respectful. These bath/wash/rooms are not unique for one per unit room where you sleep in, but shared baths/toilets among each respective floor. There are plenty of them in each sections of the floor, but it is really inconvenient when you need it and which it is occupied.
- Lockers are not suitcase/luggage sized only fit like small size handbags/fanny packs.
- No drapes/curtains/covers rails on the bunk beds. Everything wide open so sleeping is not really private. This might be the most concerning one since my previous different hostel totally have this feature.
- WIFI's max download/upload speeds are approx. 25mbps. For those techy nerds with want to access their VPN or etc.
- No in-room mini fridge w/ freezer. Need to store everything in the main floor kitchen.
- No using electrical things like stove or microwave or even a kettle in the main floor kitchen after 9pm it seems like it. This I don't mind too much but eco-friendly I guess? besides there are restaurants nearby.
- The lamp lights don't work or rather needs a new light bulb.

I love the experience! The staff was very kind (kudos to Jimmy, a lovely person), the breakfast was simple but yummy, and the hostel ambience was great. The location is superb, close to a subway station (10 walking distance), to the Quartier of Spectacles and downtown. I would stay here again for sure. Thank you, folks!

It's exactly what you expect. A cheap hostel with loud adults. It has a nice patio, but I couldn't enjoy it because I was travelling for medical and my leg is injured (it's up so many stairs).
Dirty bathrooms.
There is a hole in the ceiling leaking water, so hopefully that doesn't collapse when guests are in the building.
No accommodations for medical even with injury, but you'll be immediately threatened with a $50 fine if you don't make the bed of a top bunk with a leg injury when you're travelling for medical. I was the first of 6 to book and my only accomodation request was to have a bottom bunk. Nope.
ETA: I just saw their reply to me so I want to address a few things. The lower bed request was literally for safety and not comfort. I did talk to reception and they refused to help. At the time of my booking the other 5 beds in the room I stayed in were still available.
I went to reception about the sheet and no offer was made for help. I got a response that they'd look into changing me the next day but I was never contacted and I was too exhausted from it all to self-advocate.
Additionally, the water damage (I can't find my photo) was more significant than the one day. I'd be very surprised to learn that it's actually prepared. The wet hole was def still in the ceiling. I'd be very surprised if the building isn't full of mold.

I had the worst experience of my life. The place smells horrible, I couldn’t breathe. I checked out two days before because I couldn’t stay. I asked for refund and I still waiting for it. Every time that I ask about the refund for the two nights that I didn’t stay the staff makes an excuse saying that they can’t get a hold of the manager.
Please don’t go to this place. Very unprofessional and dirty.

It would be better if guest services could be open @ 7am instead of 8 am. The room was much smaller than shown on the website & not a double bed. Shower amenities (toiletries & towels) were lacking. Older building, my room had uneven flooring & an unsafe step up to the toilet. Tripped often.

Very friendly staff and well ventilated rooms.
There were not enough bathrooms + toilets to accommodate people. I found myself waiting long periods of time (30+ minutes) to use the bathroom.
