This is the perfect hotel to discover La Rochelle. The location could not be any better. The staff are just so friendly and welcoming. I would 100% stay here again if returning to this beautiful city. The rooms are pretty small but given the location this is forgivable. The beds are big and comfortable.

It has a small bathroom. Driving to the property is a bit difficult due to it’s central location and the noise from the busy central harbour was a bit disturbing but did stop by 11:00pm which actually meant that it didn’t interfere with our sleep! I suspect the noise is not a problem at all out of season.

Central location overlooking the harbour, bars & restaurants. We chose a room with a balcony which was great to chill out later in the day.

Not really a negative but if you want a quiet room don't choose one with a balcony. The windows kept out most of the noise coming from street performers in the evening. (There was a good seal on the windows however) There were ear plugs provided if needed.

Our room overlooked the harbour, so a beautiful view. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. The Town was very busy, that we did not expect late August. For older couples, I suggest mid September may be a better time to go. That said, we did have the most stupendous meal at a little restaurant off the beaten track, where less foot traffic was experienced. I suggest do a lot of research beforehand.

The noise from the nightlife did disturb us. If you are young, hip and happening, this is the place to be. If you are older, I would suggest a hotel not so close to the harbour.

The location is fantastic and when you actually get the room you’ve paid for the balcony and view are phenomenal. In addition communication prior to checking in is very quick and the staff make it seem like they’re willing to do anything for you. For fairness sake I’ve included a photo of the room we’d actually paid for that we were given on the second night as there wasn’t anything wrong with this room. Had we been given it straight away this could’ve all been avoided.

This review had potential to be a lot more positive and I wouldn’t have even mentioned the issues had it not been for my experience since leaving the hotel. My wife and I travelled for our honeymoon to France and one of our stops was La Rochelle. I had paid for an upgraded room with a sea view/balcony and this was exclusively the reason I booked this hotel as the pictures looked amazing. Before arriving the staff were great, messaging back and forth to see if there was anything we needed. They sorted out a cake I requested for my partner(which I expected to pay for) as well as checking when we would arrive consistently. Very polite on arrival but when we got to the room it became clear very quickly that it wasn’t the one I’d paid for and was a basic room. To comment on the standard of this room it was nice enough but absolutely minuscule, you could barely get round the bed and it was incredibly basic. We phoned reception to check if this was a mistake and were told by the very apologetic receptionist that there was a mistake and they’d accidentally given us the wrong room and that they couldn’t move us that night because someone was in the room we’d paid for but that we could move tomorrow. Obviously very disappointed by this we made it clear to the receptionist that we weren’t happy and she asked if we would like our money back for the upgrade or free breakfasts. Of course I asked for the money back and we were promised this would be done. There was then a lot of pandering to try and butter us up by bringing us a bottle of champagne and small bag of chocolates along with an apology letter. All the time I didn’t ask for any of this and fully expected to get the money back that I’d paid for the upgrade. We were moved to the correct room on the second night and there was no problems here. I would highly recommend paying for the better room but wouldn’t stay here in the basic room. There’s far far better in La Rochelle and it’s still not cheap.

The location of the hotel is brilliant. It was within walking distance of everything from boat trips to restaurants to the train station and aquarium. It was a perfect location for shopping on the high street to grabbing a fabulous jambon complet in a boulangerie.

We had a balcony room (Number 36) for 3 nights but had to move on our last night to a seaview room on the first floor. There wasn't any way the windows could block out the noise from the street. If you're booking this hotel make sure you book a balcony room.

the property is centrally located with walking access to shops, restaurants, and the central old port. The staff was very helpful, very polite and efficient. The room we were originally assigned through Booking.com was very small and could not accommodate our luggage. We were offered an upgrade to a larger room for an additional "discounted" rate of 30 euros. It was very comfortable. We added the breakfast at 15 euros/person that was not included in the room rate. The breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of food and drinks.

Being in Centre Ville, it is not easy to find a parking space. No parking at the hotel itself but there is a space in front with time to unload the luggage. There are public parkings, for a fee, not too far from the hotel. The breakfast room is very small and was full when we came from our room. A table opened up within 10 minutes. The friendly staff had offered to bring our choices of breakfast food to our room. We ended up not needing that service but appreciated the offer.

Tour de Nestle has the best situation in La Rochelle: it’s the only hotel facing the old port, and steps away from excellent restaurants (I highly recommend La Boucole), cafés, museums and shops. Fabulous location, right in the port, the beds were comfy, linen really fresh and lovely little mini bar with water, coke, ice tea on our arrival a lovely view and the rooms super clean with wonderful staff. Some guests may find the standard rooms a little on the small side, but it was perfect for us. There is no parking at the hotel, but you can stop outside for thirty minutes to check in and take your bags to the room, then look for parking. But as you are right in the middle of the port with bars, restaurants, shops, Aquarium and museums, you don't need a car everything is within walking distance. Had a great stay and have already booked again.
