AC works if you leave it on 16 degrees for the afternoon. It was very comfortable once we returned. It was very hot in Marseille when we were there!
Beds were soft but sheets were very clean, as were towels.
Bathroom was tidy but not 100% clean. Tiles were a bit mouldy in places. Had to shower sitting in the bath otherwise water sprayed EVERYWHERE! ? there was no curtain. The room could have used some refreshing (paint, stains etc). Wi-Fi was weak BUT we were on the 4th floor. Closer to the reception it was perfect!

The staff wasn't very cordial with me and they didn't speak any English. I felt like they were making fun of me because I didn't speak French, and that's just plain stupid for a tourist hotel. The "public" WIFI didn't work either, ended up using my own data. The room was very small and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I ever slept on. Woke up every morning with back pain, feeling every spring in the mattress.
Overall it was a very cheap hotel for a very inflated price.

Location was good close to the old port. Staff were OK. The lady was nice and they kept my luggage until my taxi came for me. But everything was very poor.
The bed bugs that infested the room and kept me up all night. I have videos of them. The lift only works , some of the time, only goes from the second floor so be prepared to drag you luggage up stairs. The room was not very clean, grey smelly pillows. Not that I slept on them. I thought about the free breakfast until I see everything was open with flies on it. Sorry but never again.

The hotel is in an excellent location and is perfect if you're hoping for a base to explore Marseille from that's right in the centre of town with easy access to the train station and public transport links around the city.
The room was on the fourth floor and the elevator is about the oldest, smallest thing you've ever seen. On top of which, it's clearly quite finnicky to work as the staff got annoyed several times for me not pressing some special button after I came out of the lift. All of this is to say, it's a terrible place if you're not comfortable with climbing up stairs.

Reception staff had little or no English (however did use the translation app on the phone and tried to be helpful). No safe or phone or fridge in the room. Lift was antiquated and could take only one person.

The hotel is in the center of the city hence everything is close by, there are plenty of restaurants and shops if one needs them. Those exhaust the positive list.
And being in the center also sums up the negative side of the accomodation as well. Windows are old so they don't block out noises and it is a rather noisy area. Curtains on the windows are put up in a really weird way which lets light in so you can't make the room dark. There was a constant electric white noise coming from within the building which is very irritating and hard to sleep next to. The walls are really thin so you hear everything that's going on next to you, under you and above you. The door of the shower cabin came off at my first movement and for some reason only half the cabin has doors the other only has curtain, the type that ALWAYS sticks to your body if you touch it (eeek). The shower also had mold in it. The toilet seat came off just by touching it. As I left in the morning I saw huge rats all around the street and next to entrance of the hotel as well. Luckily it was only one night but one can get better accommodation for this price. I would never go back.

The location is perfect, on a small street right next to the port, with quaint streets and squares all around and tons of places to eat. The room was a bit small and slightly outdated but nothing terrible, everything was clean and nothing was missing. The staff was very friendly and always available, I could leave my backpack for the day after checking out.
The insulation of the rooms isn't great so if there's noise on the street below, you'll hear everything.

staff is welcoming and kind. the location is good.
very strong smell of cigarettes, at some point there were cockroaches running in the room had to kill them. and then put my clothes in a plastic bag so they don't go into them. middle of night heard screaming and shouting of one of the guests in the staircase. and no cofee or tea makers in room so deceptive advertising there too.
