The location was accessible and quiet.
The room was a good size which made our stay very comfortable. The bed and pillows were perfect to our liking.
The staff were very friendly, accommodating and helpful.
Although location was accessible and quiet, you still need to walk 10mins on average to get to the nearest Metro. If you don't mind walking too much, the place should be good for you.

We booked last minute and stayed for a few nights in August in a superior room and would say it would be worth upgrading to have a little balcony in summer as the area is so lovely. On the whole a great hotel for The location was wonderful, it was quiet and close to many restaurants, the metro and the Luxembourg Gardens. The room was a decent size for Paris. The shower itself was great, good power and temperatures. The bed was a superking I believe, definitely larger than a UK King, it was okay but a little on the medium to hard side. Ability to have soft mattress toppers would be well received. Great black out blinds making it easy for a good lie in. Note that we do not sleep well anywhere other than home or in super luxurious bedrooms but we did manage to get a decent nights sleep.

It is a bit dark in the bathroom and room to apply makeup.
The air-conditioning was very noisy so we had to turn it off at night which meant the room would get a bit warm. I would encourage modernising the bathroom and changing the bathtub for a shower as the bathtub is not full size and a bit redundant and we did end up with water over the floor when we showered.

I stayed at the hotel for five days. Unfortunately the entrance to my room was malfunctioning and meant that every time I got to the (small) room on the third floor I had to go back to reception for a new key or wait for the receptionist to come up to the room with me to try to fix the problem. Five days in which I heard promises that it would be fixed but unfortunately it was not fixed. I reached such a high level of frustration that if I had time I would have left the hotel on the second day but I believed they would fix the problem and as I said it was not fixed.

We had a great stay at Le Senat for the Olympics. We booked a Superior Room and was not disappointed with the space. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the L'Occitane products. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel was easily accessible by the metro, the RER B as well as the bus. It was our first time staying in the Left Bank and we look forward to future stays at Le Senat.

It’s been 10 years since we’d been Paris so was heavily relying on reviews. My husband and I stayed at Le Senat for 3 nights, and it was absolutely perfect. The room, we had a little balcony with a stunning view, bottled water in the fridge, breakfast was delicious and we made use of the honesty bar.
The staff were so friendly and they couldn’t do enough for you. Fresh towels and maid every day. The location was perfect, 10 minute walk away from the Latin quarter and Jardins de Luxembourg other main site seeing areas are all within walking distance and the metro is a 5 minute walk.
There’s a chic little restaurant bar a few doors up from the hotel called Au Pere Louis and high have a lovely selection of French wines and delicious food.
A little local shop opposite and also a pharmacy. Situated down a quiet road. (There’s also an E bike hub straight outside should you wish to explore the city this way)
We loved it so much we’ve booked to come back again in the spring.

The location is very nice, close to Luxembourg Park, and the street is quiet at night. Super cool and safe neighborhood to take a walk or have a drink. Despite the small toilet, the entire room is quite spacious in general comparing to other hotels with the same price.
Some of the staff (2 girls) at the reception are very helpful and friendly, they explained to me about the payment details and helped my booked taxi for airport.
One staff I encountered during the night at the reception was particularly impatient and unfriendly. I tried to pay an extra night and he insisted on charging me for one breakfast that I shouldn't pay. I showed him my order details on booking.com but he just blamed it all on the hotel "system" and told me to write an email to customer service. I ended up by asking a refund the next day which was completely unnecessary at the first place.

We went to Paris for my husband’s 50th birthday and chose to stay at this hotel. I had mentioned this to them during the reservation and they’ve reserved us a very nice room with balcony for us and when we entered our room we were also greeted with a champagne surprise. This location is wonderful. You’re in a gorgeous neighborhood, right down the street from Luxembourg Gardens and a couple doors down from a restaurant—Au Père Louis—that served an onion soup that changed my soul. The team at Le Sénat was so warm and welcoming and made sure every day in Paris started and ended on a high note.
We were on the top floor, and it got a little warm at night, but that’s to be expected in August.

The location was great for exploring the Rive Gauche. Vanessa at the front desk was very nice and attentive. Breakfast was fine, covering the basics, but we would not add it on a future stay
We booked a duplex room but found it to be inconvenient for a number of reasons: being on the top floor we could hear the elevator machine at all times; a vent system also added a constant hum that combined with the elevator noise was very unpleasant. We had to call the front desk all three days to ask them to turn off the vent system, which they kindly did. Using the bathroom overnight was also not ideal as the sleeping area was upstairs.

I stayed in rm 403 overlooking the road but wasn’t bothered by any traffic noise. Room was very clean, comfortable, with a small ref, daily water bottle, closets, modern bathroom facilities and towel warmer. Theres a small elevator which is good for luggage. Daily cleaning service included. Monoprix and restaurants just within the area.
I had to ask for the hair conditioner and amenity kit daily.

The location was the decider for me, near the person I was visiting, but it would be perfect for anyone. There are any number of restaurants steps away, it’s close to Luxembourg gardens, the RER (best way to and from CDG), metro and bus stops, and everything else you could want. The staff were welcoming, the room very comfortable, well laid out and I loved being able to open the windows onto the street.
I didn’t try the breakfast, there are too many other options around at a cheaper price for excellent coffee etc. I did try a number of the hotel’s recommended restaurants - this was a great service - and also loved the Moroccan restaurant around the corner.

Our room was very nice, not big as usual for Paris downtown but very clean and nicely furnished. Two things let us a bit wondering: the shower is really unsafe. Both the bathtub and the floor around it are very slippery and there is no anti-slipping treatment in the shower, resulting in making showering a rather dangerous experience.
Additionally, it is practically impossible to regulate the temperature of the water in a stable way... the water goes from cold to warm and then to cold again over and over without anyone actually touching the valves. Some instability is quite normal in Paris (systems are old) but this was almost at unmanageable extent.

The room was lovely as were the staff who were always willing to assist. We had a balcony which provided for a great evening wine. Felt very safe and were surrounded by restaurants, cafes and small market. The Luxembourg Gardens are across the road and the Pantheon is a 5 minute walk. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

I had a charming, well appointed room. The staff was delightful and very welcomimg. The hotel is is very nice looking and appears to have been redecorated very recently as everything seems brand new. Location could not be better--one block from the Luxembourg Gardens and in a neighborhood full of good restaurants and very interesting shops--for collectors of vinatage cameras, binoculars and typewriters, among others.
I also loved that there were complementary copies of the International New York Times available on weekdays in the Lobby.
They were finishing up some painting in the lobby, so there were plastic tarps up which didn't allow us to thoroughly appreciate the decor. Also, the breakfast room is in the basement and is overly warm. Croissants were just comme ci, comme ca and you really want a fabulous croissant when you are in Paris. We got some fresh out of the oven just down the block though.

Room was very small. Location was exceptionally good (St. Germain de Pres on left bank; lots of restaurants nearby, also Sorbonne, Pantheon, Luxembourg Park, Notre Dame). Breakfast was average and expensive (not included in the room rate) but good options nearby. Staff was uniformly wonderful!

We booked last room available at last moment and maybe we got not so lucky. Room was so tiny that 2 people couldn't not just move to the bathroom or near wardrobe, we had to close the door of the wardrobe and let person inside the bathroom. No space in bathroom, no shelves for cosmetics. No personal hygiene things like cotton swabs or pads. No hair conditioner, only shampoo. In the fridge there was 2 small bottles of water and 1 of them was opened and as if someone had already taken a sip from there??? We had to ask slippers in the reception (???) and there was no bathrobes.
First there was troubles with air conditioning, had to turn it on every hour. Next day they asked us to let the technician in, we asked to wait 1-2 hours because we were having shower. They agreed and than appeared twice in 10 and 15 minutes telling it's urgent. And my key card wasn't working and I had to ask 3 times to make it work again.
Also there is no soundproof between rooms and hallway, you hear EVERYTHING what is going on in the next room including someone's "action of love".
For this amount of money (740€ for 2 nights) it's disappointing especially for 4 star hotel. 2 stars maximum.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Location was outstanding, next to Luxembourg gardens and Saint Germain des Pres, just steps away. Bed was very comfy, shower was awesome. Breakfast was decent, if you're not inclined to go out, but the room where it's served was a bit drab. Great serving staff, they work hard.
My only real gripe was the walls were thin. I could hear people in the rooms next to me on the phone very clearly and there was no hall separating the door from the bed, so you get hallway conversations and noise too. I didn't care for that but it was manageable. Otherwise, room was small, hallways are narrow, elevator is small, but nice boutique hotel overall.

Location to great restaurants literally next door Luxembourg Park a block away. Walking to the Seine River and St Chappelle and Notre Dame. Room was very comfortable and very quiet. I will recommend to my friends. I will come back. A great place!

Although we had stayed at other hotels in this location close to the Luxembourg we were enthralled by the description and reviews so decided to reserve. We were indeed not disappointed! Since noting that the suite they reserved for us involved climbing stairs that was medically difficult for us, they found a way to change to a single floor suite! The suite itself was roomy and thoughtfully arranged and decorated and the bath/shower had plenty of hot water. From the excellent morning breakfast to the evening glass of wine every member of the staff was exceptionally professional and friendly. We strongly recommend Le Senate for a comfortable Paris stay.
