However, being woken out of your sleep at 06.40 am by hammering is far from ideal and we hope this will be addressed for the sake of other visitors.

The room was very small. The design somehow old fashioned. The cappuccino we had at the bar was awful. That was the reason we decided not to have breakfast at the hotel and chose other places for breakfast.

Everything was faultless and seamless. The staff were SO lovely, the hotel and room were super clean with the housekeeping providing an exceptional service every day. The lobby area was really cosy. What made it extra special was the fact we were there for our anniversary and the hotel left us a celebratory brownie in our room on the first night, offered Prosecco on arrival and also an Easter egg on Easter Monday. The location is great. The lobby and restaurant is lovely and the staff in the bar/restaurant downstairs were very attentive.

The mattress on the bed was past its use by date. As we tried to sleep we rolled into the middle of the bed as all the support /springs were old and unsupportive. It was like sleeping on a hillside. Of all the beds we have stayed in over Europe in the last month, including one 3* place, this supposedly 5* experience resulted in the most uncomfortable 2 nights sleep. The room was also small which meant finding the space to actually open our luggage was a challenge. It was my husband’s birthday and the hotel kept asking us how they could make our experience better. On check-in we were told there would be a glass of Prosecco for us both in our room when it was ready and our bags in the room would be waiting for us. The bags weren’t there when we finally got to our room. They had to go and “find” them, and the Prosecco never materialised. Promised too much and didn’t deliver on much at all.

The water in both our rooms 230 and 231 literally took 10 minutes to warm up. The engineer came around to fix it but the same thing happened for the next 2 days. I had to run a full bath of water before it warmed up. A huge waste of water and time waiting to shower or bath.

Excellent location next to St Stephen's Green and a tram stop. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Staff were all very warm and professional. Loved the fact that the cooked breakfast was cooked to order. Plenty of choice at breakfast and very attentive staff.

The front entrance was being "improved" when we arrived so we actually walked past the hotel. A bit clearer temporary signage would have helped.

The location of the hotel could not be any better. It faces St Stephen's Green and is right around the corner from Grafton Street and also from a stop for the hop on hop off bus tour. The decor is very modern and upscale and the room was comfortable, had plenty of storage and a view of the garden. We arrived earlier than check in time from an early flight and the staff were happy to hold our bags while we went out and explored Dublin.

Definitely a small thing, but this is a very upscale hotel...there was nowhere to plug in a hairdryer or flatiron with a view of a mirror. This is an issue in many European hotels because of the "no outlets in the bathroom" thing, but just placing a mirror within a reasonable view of an outlet would be an easy fix.

The hotel is in an ideal location across from St. Stephen's Green and near the foot of Grafton Street. A walk to Trinity College Parliament Square takes about 15 minutes and from the Hotel to Tara Street Train station about 20 to 25 minutes. There are many pubs and restaurants within a short walking distance. We did not try the food available at the hotel, but it does have an attractive lounge and dining area. We chose a courtyard view and the room was very quiet. We used the laundry service and it was prompt. Put it out in the evening and have it returned next day. One minor complaint. The window shades have plastic faux chains on them and they do not handle the pulling to open and close the shades as the chain ends are weak - poor design. If this is the most serious complaint anyone may have, of course one will have a very pleasant stay.

Window shades are problematic to operate due to poor plastic pull chain mechanism. No manual or description of offerings in the room.

Fantastic location on St. Stephen's Green at the end of Grafton Street -- walkable to everything travelers could want in Dublin. Possibly the best shower I ever had -- fantastic water pressure was much appreciated after a long flight!

The electricity in the room is incredibly complicated -- you'd flip a light switch and the TV would turn on; flipping a light in the hallway would turn on the lights over the bed and leave the hallway dark; the light switches by the bathroom only sometimes worked. I'm sure guests would appreciate a tutorial on how all of it is supposed to work!

Rooms were very nice, A/C in room was perfect (If you’re also an American who has traveled across Europe a bit, you understand this one), bed was comfortable, and customer service was great. I extended my trip after being with friends for just one day, so was only at The Fitzwilliam for one night. We had stayed at another competing hotel nearby and the Fitzwilliam was the winner by far! My photos don’t do it justice. It had a very nice closet set up too.

Amazing location for Grafton street shopping and restaurants but there is a band pop up shop next door, then trash bin on the street and public bathrooms. Not sure if that was just because of the holidays but not as picturesque as other streets.

We loved the concierge service. Car parking and luggage transport to room and car were very helpful. Turning down the room while we were out and setting the room for bed time was a nice touch also.

When checking in, the receptionist was about pushy when we asked about a early check in. I explained that the concierge had told me that we had an early check in. Apparently this just meant they would note we wanted it, not that we were guaranteed it. Not much of a problem either ways, but she was very forceful in getting her point across when there was no issue really.

The service was exceptional. Location ideal and the room absolutely beautiful. Also, I had an extraordinary meal at Glovers Alley. They were booked for the night, but managed to squeeze me in. Very grateful.
