The hostel is perfectly located - not more than a 15 minute walk from the main train station and just as long to the Piazza Maggiore from the hostel. Bus stops, restaurants, bars and shops nearby. Good facilities. The comfortable beds have curtains for more privacy (was a 6 bed dorm). A simple but delicious continental breakfast with homemade cakes and all you need in the morning. Everything is always very clean including the three beautiful bathrooms. Very friendly staff!

Dopa Hostel is fantastic! The hostel and the people who work there make you feel right at home and everything around you lets you know that it is run by people who love travel. The decor, the common area, the kitchen, and everything they offer - like the water, free breakfast, guitars, a record playerโฆ everything. Itโs just AMAZING. The rooms are clean and aired out daily so there is no sense of neglect or dirtiness at all. The facilities are clean, modern, and well taken care of. This is a perfect hostel run by people who know how to take care of the people who stay there.

The location was really good, just a 10-15 minute walk from the train station or from the city center. The staff was nice and the hostel was really well thought!
The motto of the hostel is โfeel yourself at homeโ. Well some people really took that seriously and were not respectful at all at night: someone was on the phone until midnight, others turned on the lights in the middle of the night, others walked in and out of the room like the entered the supermarket. Thereโs also a policy of being quiet from midnight, so for people who like to sleep early, itโs not the best. And thereโs no hour from which you can make sound so people just made some whenever they were awake.
Also the fact that there is only 3 bathrooms for I think 6 dorms was, to me, not enough.

Good location, 20 minute walk to the train station and the center yet the area is not nice especially at night.
Friendly staff, they gave me back the charger I forgot in my room.
You can leave the luggage after checkout.
The room was big but not comfortable.
Be sure not to forget your key in the door and get out as you will be blocked - it happened to me as I needed to get out and ask for the wifi password which was not written in the room. Charlotte helped me but she made me feel like a naughty child.
The bathroom is not heated and it is extremely cold.
Automatic heating stopped working after midnight and it got very cold.
The bed sheet was not ironed and it looked as if somebody slept there before.
Towels are worn out.
Breakfast was scarce, little food could be found, small place and you need to do the dishes! I wonder how clean dishes really are.
Noisy. You can hear people talking until late and also noise from the street.
It was the most expensive room I had during one week in Italy - Venice, Verona, Florence.
I had more comfort and better breakfast in a 2 star downtown hotel in the center of Florence.
I work as a tour guide and travel a lot, it is the first time when the property is asking for a 10 star review.

Genuinely the most lovely hostel Iโve stayed in. It felt like being invited into a home. The space was so inviting and the decor was so vibes. The building was a little older so everything was with keys but it added to the charm. Everything was quite clean and the mattresses had privacy curtains and were comfy. The staff were all so nice and had good recommendations for what to do. Will definitely stay here again if Iโm ever in bologna.

On the downside, the hostel lacks sufficient common spaces. Itโs not ideal for people who need to work on a laptop because the only available table is in the kitchen, which usually isnโt free until after 11 a.m. Until then, you have to work sitting on a sofa, which isnโt very comfortable for long periods. Also, the cleanliness of common areas like the fridge was poor, and it had a very unpleasant smell

It's a small hostel, but still a really cute one. :) They have a very good system for keeping things nice amongst their guests and the staff are very kind and helpful. They give a lot of information about what's going on in the city &it's well located - you can get to a lot of parts of town from there very easily. &there's a grocery store (Pam locale) across the street for those who want to cook their meals! The service and staff was exceptional. Very friendly and eager to help. Also felt like being part in a friendly community which is very important when visiting a hostel. Highly recommend it as it was my first solo travel and can't wait to try it again after that experience
Due to various people living ( 20 - 30 ) and 3 available bathrooms, morning availability can be difficult. Also the lockers could be bigger.

I got a warm welcome when I arrived and a tour once I was checked in. I even got a message inquiring as I was late to arrive which I found thoughtful. The staff I met were lovely. The included breakfast was a nice touch! The bed was comfy. There is a charming map of the city painted on the wall with different places tourists may like to see noted. The staff speak multiple languages and spoke fluent english which wasn't an expectation, but it made it easier for me - as I was very tired from a long day of travel.
There was a locker for me in the room, but it was not big enough for all my baggage. In the end - that was ok - I just put my 'most valuable' valuables in there. For me the people and place felt very safe. There are limited showers/bathrooms, so you have to be mindful of when you plan to take a shower in case it's busy (before checkout/during breakfast is busy). It was fine for me - I showered in the evening.

There are three shared bathrooms for the whole hostel which is okay because the hostel is pretty small. The common areas are okay - I had an 8 euro dinner when J got there and it was nice. The kitchen is great.

I really enjoyed my stay at Dopa hostel. It was just a 15 minute walk from Bologna Centrale and a quick walk to the old city. The common areas were cozy and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I found that the place had a great atmosphere overall.

This is a cozy, comfortable hostel. I love the strict quiet rules and the sound proofed beds . The kitchen is large and the common area was very comfy, not to mention the awesome murals on the walls. Also free breakfast!
I have no complaints, would absolutely stay again.

The hostel is about 15min walking from Bologna and train and bus station.
There are some restaurants, caffes and supermarkets nearby and it is a short walk from the main sightseeing.
The room was spacious and clean. Bed was confortable and it has its own power outlet, light and curtains for privacy. It also had a small locker for personal belongings
The shared bathroom was very big and it was clean.
Breakfast is very simple but it is enough to start the day.
Also they can keep you luggage before check-in and after check-out for free.
Although it is a small hostel, it has only three shared bathrooms, so this can be a problem if more than three people decide to use the bathroom at the same time.
They also charged my credit card before my arrival, even though the reservation said I could pay in cash upon arrival. At first, they said they couldnโt make a refund, but thanks to Fiamma, they canceled the credit card payment.

It's a fun, funky scene, good for a couple of nights.
The nightly price was clearly variable, but outright usurous on the particular dates I was there, apparently due to a large conference in town that I had nothing to do with. I've never paid E. 100+ per night to sleep in an eight-bed dormitory!

The lady at the reception was very friendly. She gave me a tour of the hostel upon arrival. She also offered having a dinner together with other guests, which I politely declined due to having other plans.
The bed had only one curtain to the side, but not from the back, so anyone entering the room can see you in your bed. It was ok for me though, because I had a very short night stay for an early morning flight.

One of the guest in the room smelled like a death animal. I had to buy my own air refreshener to be able to sleep. The smell was so bad that you could tell the moment he had walked into the hotel.

The hostel is on a secure and easy to access building with lift. Staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. Close to many entries, cafes and bars. The bed was very comfortable and the private bathroom was spacious with good and plenty of hot water. Sound proofing windows tamed the street noise. Breakfast was included but the timing conflicted with my daily plans.
The mid afternoon sun warmed the room too much for me. I had to open the windows to let cooler air in.... but also the street noise. At least it was for a short time.

We enjoyed the property as it was essentially located, and the room was very clean. They also have good offerings including dinner for eight euros if interested and a board of events. It was so nice to be able to meet other travelers with breakfast included. Staff available all day. Private bathroom was nice.

The hostel was sparkling clean, well-maintained, and the staff was incredibly polite and welcoming! The location is perfect, making it super easy to go anywhere. During my stay, I also met some really beautiful people. Itโs a huge pity I only stayed for one night. Wish I could have stayed longer!
