Not the fault of the Hotel, but the apparent number of beggars. I wished there was better support from the local area. I just think other visitors ought to be aware of this.
The bath & shower area though quite useable needed to be updated. The shower seemed a bit odd to operate & old fashioned.

Smokers, on the steps of the hotel. Arrange new circle outside breakfast room.also a good place to have a rest and give travellers on an early morning flight a glass of orange as a welcome drink, when they cannot go to the room. .

Our room was clean and comfy, and the staff were really nice. We didnt have any complaints. Moreover the hotels location is great, the Casa da Musica metro station is at 7-8 minutes walking distance. And if you dont want to take the metro, the city centre is just 20 minutes away by foot. There is also a fully equipped shopping centre and a busy food mall just next door.

I lived in Porto for 1 year and I chose this hotel because it’s besides Mercado Bom Sucesso which offers many food options for food and drinks. You should have breakfast there and not at the hotel! It is about 25 min walk from the old center or a few metro stops. Also there are many buses that go straight to the center or ribeira. Price a bit expensive though for short bus ride. The hotel offers Parking for 12 Euros per night in their own parking underground. The room was comfortable and staff was helpful. We have not tried the bar nor breakfast.
Very strong cigarette smoke smell in the lobby. I am allergic to it so therefore the complain. People smoke outside but very close to the door and the door stays open. I think they should go further away to smoke. You could hear people in the other rooms sometimes, but nothing too bothering.

We had a lot of anxiety before arrival.The hotel would not confirm that the room would have twin beds, even though that is what we had booked, unless we paid an extra €64, which we were not prepared to do. On arrival, all was fine, but this worry spoiled our anticipation of the holiday.
As we arrived too early to check in, we were able to leave our bags safely , we thought, in the hotel. However, when we returned to collect them, one was missing and the staff were not able to locate it. We passed another worrying night, one of us with nothing apart from the toothbrush provided by the reception staff. In the morning, thankfully, the bag appeared, with no explanation as to what had happened. The reception staff were very apologetic and we were given a frèe breakfast, which we appreciated. However, this was the second lot of anxiety caused.

The room was cold at the end of september. We told the reception this issue. They said that the central heating system was set to a standart temperature at the hotel and it was impossible to increase the temperature at the room. It was a problem for us.
The housekeepers made much noise at the next rooms.

Checkin availability - we arrived later than intended because of our taxi not showing up, the hotel were able to accommodate, and upon checkout were able to hold our bags for us before our afternoon flight
Mild issue: I'm lactose intolerant and couldn't have some of the breakfast things (e.g. tea/coffee with milk, the cheeses, cereal) - I didn't spot the sign saying to ask the staff if you have allergies/intolerances, and I'd also already been told no by multiple cafes (including chains) when asking for soy/oat. I'd looked it up and soy was the most popular dairy alternative in Portugal last year so this shouldn't have been too weird.
There are plenty of other breakfast foods on offer, but just be aware if you are travelling and can't have milk, to bring your own travel sachets if you want it in your coffee.

Quite a good location for connections to the old town and the beach (Matosinos). Close to the metro and plenty of bus routes. Also close to Casa da Musica if you like concerts, etc.
The hotel was clean and tidy, with a good breakfast; but it was a little soulless. I didn’t eat in the restaurant or drink in the bar as it lacked charm.

Also, the Bom Sucesso market near the hotel is a great place to have lunch/dinner.

The room smelled as though someone had smoked in it in the not too distant past. When I checked in, the lady on reception was a little fierce and intimidating but she was also very efficient.
