We stayed in the Cartmel suite at Windermere Suites for two nights, it was comfortable, the facilities were perfect and the balcony doors added a nice touch to eat breakfast beside, which was also included in the price which we loved. We spent so much time in the jacuzzi bath and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve slept in. The staff were super friendly and accommodating to all of our needs also. We will absolutely be returning on our next trip back to Windermere!
We didn’t note anything about the property we didn’t like.

Spa bath was incredible- could have stayed there all evening, breakfast delivered to the room made it so much more relaxed. I added the romantic package and was not disappointed!

The staff are so helpful and friendly, we were lucky to have got booked there after being let down by the Howbeck at the last minute would highly recommend the Windermere suites but stay clear of the Howbeck terrible customer service. The owner and staff looked after our every need they arranged an early check in knowing we had stayed local the previous night due to a cottage we booked being substandard. Nothing was to much trouble the breakfast being delivered to the room was a great touch. The room facilities are great and defiantly recommend a stay as we will be returning.
The only thing i didn't like was we only had a 4 night stay wish we had stayed the whole duration of our holiday 7 days.

There is a parking space adjacent to the suite where I assumed we would be parking our car which would have been great as we are disabled
Unfortunately from checking in at 230pm on Saturday to checking out at 10.30am on Monday there was a blue BMW parked there so we couldn't the car never moved for 2 days
Not the fault of the hotel but how very inconsiderate of whoever parked there
Also on our last night whoever was next door yo us had a blazing argument around 10.15pm which disturbed us again why are people so inconsiderate of others

Stayed in the Cartmel Suite for 2 nights over the Valentines weekend. We had previous stayed back in 2009 when the suites had not long opened so was very excited to finally return.
The room is large and open, with a fairly designer style. The bed is huge and mostly comfortable, with a large walk in closet which also houses the well stocked mini-fridge and tea making facilities. There is a large smart TV, and also a very comfortable 2 seater sofa. There is a large table and chairs which sits just near the double doors outlooking a nice view up to the hills. The room temperature is controlled by a large radiator - which allowed us to maintain a comfortable heat during the 2 degree temperatures as the heating is constantly switched on allowing individual room control. Although - I suspect it's hot in the summer, and I'm surprised there is no air conditioning in a 5* suite in this day and age.
The bathroom is also large, with a heated floor, heated LED lit mirror, large air bath and a large walk in shower. There is also a TV in the bathroom over the bath and 2 spotlights which can be individually controlled for different colour effects etc.
The service was very good - we did have a couple of small issues however the staff were absolutely lovely and in particular one member of staff (Sarah I think?) was very attentive and did everything she could within what was possible at the time - an absolute credit to the place which is rare these days. The room service / breakfast was always prompt, and the food, when available (more about this below), was stunning.
We ordered the £90 romantic package, which was a nice touch and the champagne was lovely, served in a ice bucket upon arrival.
Firstly, the room is looking a bit tired after 15 years with deep markings all over the laminate flooring and patches where the varnish looks to have come up, along with scrapes/scratches from furniture being moved for cleaning I suspect. There is also the odd mark here and there on the walls, and the bath robes were quite threaded at the sleeves. Same with the bedding - the covers are tired, as is the bed frame. The controls for the heated floor had a broken screen too.
Although the mattress was comfortable, we found the pillows far too soft as they basically just split as you lay on them. It would have been nice to have better quality, firmer pillow options. The dining chairs are quite uncomfortable.
The room service is not well stocked. Our first night (Valentines), we'd ordered twice only to be told the food was not available and could we try something else. The young lady tried her best, it's certainly not her fault, as management should ensure stock of all room service items, especially on occasions. I will say though, the food we did get was amazing and the lady in question ensured our next days choices were available, which was much appreciated.
The chocolates included in the romantic package were also past the best before date by a number of months.
The bath plug release did not work. It was explained to us it was the guests before that had broken it so we were left having to prise up the plug, which was not easy, and not something I'd expect from a hotel of this cost.
The TV Wifi kept dropping out, so I used my phone data so we could actually stream TV.
There's also a lot of condensation build up in the room which got on my chest a bit, and the bathroom window open mechanism was broken.
To sum up, it just feels neglected, like it's being run on a budget and nothing like the photos now - a shadow of its former self. Should probably be £90 a night, not £220+.

It is beautifully furnished.
The room is quiet even though the hotel is on a main road. The location is very convenient for Windermere or Bowness, with plenty of choice for restaurants.
The breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed that it was delivered to our room each morning.

Windermere suites was absolutely amazing, everything was beyond perfect. The room was cleaned to a very high standard, the bed was very comfortable and the linen was high quality. The bathroom and spa bath was absolutely beautiful. The huge choice and portion size of the breakfasts are unbelievable, you won't go hungry!! Vicky offers an exceptionally high standard and nothing was too much trouble for her. A very nice lady and so friendly. We would highly recommend Windermere suites and look forward to staying there ourselves again.
