We had no heat the entire stay the outside temperature was below zero and the inside temperature ranged between 57-64. The heater was not working. The staff provided a small space heater however it was insufficient to heat the room. There was a terrible draft coming from the window that could not be blocked and the bed was next to that window. I received an extra blanket the second night but again insufficient.

We stayed for one night before taking an Amtrak train cross country the next day and the hotel was amazing! I liked it a lot, especially having two separate areas for the beds and two separate bathrooms, which made everything much more comfortable and easy for me and my mom. Super convenient and a great stay.

- Location: beautiful views of the river and easily walkable to a variety of restaurants, pubs, and the theater district
- Safety Features: the elevators were only accessible by using your room key, which added peace of mind
- Amenities: bottle refill stations on guest floors (see dislikes for more info)
- Room Features: AMAZING water pressure and hot shower temperatures, which was excellent for relaxing after being out and about in the January cold
Cleanliness Issues we experienced:
- Caulked-over black growth present in the shower
- Visible fecal stains under the toilet seat and dried onto the rim of the toilet bowl
- Reusable/refilled full-sized toiletries appeared unsanitary, including what looked like someone else’s pubic hair on the container
- Small speck of what appeared to be blood on the comforter
Amenities & Room Functionality:
- Electrical outlets on the nightstand did not work, making it impossible to charge devices
- Room temperature was uncomfortably cold despite being set to 75°F; the unit continuously pumped FRIGID air (note: we are not freeze babies, and our home is generally set to 66-68 in the winter months)
- Significant draft coming from the window, requiring the curtain to remain closed at all times to retain heat
- Inability to enjoy the advertised view due to having to keep the curtains closed for heat, which was a primary reason for booking the hotel
-Bottle refill stations, while a thoughtful concept, dispensed warm to hot water rather than cold
- Refrigerator was extremely small and impractical, making it impossible to store leftovers from these expensive Chicago meals
Comfort:
- Bed was okay; nothing to write home about
- Pillows were extremely poor quality
- Blankets were unusually thin and inadequate for the uncomfortable temperature of the room

Loved the view from my room. Self check in process. So close to heaps of touristy destinations. Small room but was enough for just me!
Very noisy, could hear all the traffic from floor 28. Bathroom had previous guests hair still in it. I wish the coffee station had hot chocolate!

The hotel is well located but the room and elevator are definitely dated. The hotel is also super high tech which is quite cool, and it was easy to get around.
I was a bit surprised when I got there because it was so high rated yet the room was below average. Still, I think it should be expected given how amazing the location is.

I spent 30 to 40 min trying to use the elevator because there were only 2 and everybody was leaving and they were small.

The location couldn't be any better if you wanna explore the downtown area. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Check in was fast.
You notice that some of the cabinets are not the newest but everything worked well! Don't really like the Check in Terminals even though it was pretty quick and worked but prefer the personal service.

You can't beat the location for this price. You are like literally in the heart of downtown, if you don't mind not having a luxury hotel, this is for you. Hotel cost next to us was like 3 to 4 times higher, deal was a gem for River Hotel! Bus and subway are just around the corner; we use both transports to move around the city and WALK a lot for sightseen during day and night.
Giordanos, Millenium Park (The Bean), Chicago Theater, River walk and night life are 5 to 10 mins walk.
360 Chicago, Willis's tower, navy pier, up to 20 mins walk. but for those you have plenty of bus options to reach any place within downtown in less than 5 mins.
Trump tower and Chicago clock tower are just in front of the hotel, that's the view once you step out of the hotel, unbeatable.

Amazing all around. The quietest hotel I've ever been in, I dont think I heard other guests even once. Location couldn't have been better. 2nd floor lounge was always clean and comfortable with delicious coffee. Front desk staff (not sure his name) was SO helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. Great showers.
Maybe more pillow options....and bathroom doors without "windows" (you couldn't see through them, but light came through)

Great location!!! The room was smaller than expected but clean. Excellent wifi service. Customer service when I checked in was helpful. When I checked out customer service was horrible. The night shift lady was grouchy. Smh!!! Front entrance needs an update. Better flooring etc. price was reasonable. Will stay again only if they update carpeting and get the smell out!!! Especially when you first enter the hotel

The hotel’s location is excellent. The room is very comfortable. It turned out to be almost like two separate rooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom. Parking is located not far from the hotel and costs $65 per day. The hotel does not provide breakfast.
Breakfast was listed as included in the price, but the hotel does not offer breakfast. As well as the parking.
