The bar downstairs with the red chandeliers. The waitresses were spending a lot of time chatting and I waited for a drink for about 20 minutes. Then when I finally ordered, she seemed annoyed and I was charged 25$ for ONE drink. Also, I’ve stayed here several times and the valet has been chaotic each time. There has to be a better way to do it.

Literally the morning we were already on the road driving to the hotel, we received a call stating there was no water or electricity for 24 hours. So we were not able to stay the weekend we had scheduled. We travel 3 hours and already had taken the day off from work and had no other hotel that had an opening. Ruined a weekend!! No sympathy or any accommodations were offered for the MAJOR inconvenience….. very unprofessional

The room was missing fridge, Took three times to get a fridge that belonged in the room. One was too big, second didn't work, and smelled of rotten fish. Finally, they brought a new one.
The sink was leaking and clogged, and they fixed that, and then the tub clogged up.

If you get a massage at the spa, you must request Mercedes. Amazing and worth every penny. Brunch is for the experience. Love the new updates. A little concerned at first due to it being my honeymoon hotel and staying there often. Love, love.

My stay at Grand Galvez exceeded all expectations. The restoration of the property is wonderful. Friendly and helpful staff from bellman, valet, front desk, restaurant and bar personnel. The room was very clean and every amenity needed is provided including steamer, bathroom amenities, and the very comfortable bed and pillows. Love the fancy mirror!

The hotel was recently remodeled and changed to Marriott two months ago.
The pricing under Booking,com was indicated at about $584 for two nights, which we accepted although the math didn't compute with the room thought to be $199/night for two nights. Booking.com requested and got our credit card but I failed to print out their tally of the charges, thinking I would get an emailed receipt, but did not. Upon arrival, the hotel wanted to charge $784, saying that was $584 plus a $100/night deposit for two nights. However, at that time they said Valet was $70 for the two nights which was included and which would be refunded if I decided not to use it. But I found the alternative was a garage at $20 or $25 per night some distance away, which meant that valet was the only real option given my wife's recent surgery. That info was not given by Booking.com, which I confirmed had not charged our credit card. We thought the problem was resolved after time spent at check-in where I was told the $584 included the $70 valet charges and the $784 charged included $200 in deposits. Upon checking out, however, I was told the charge would be $654, which was $574 + $70 valet -- and, I then learned that the basis for the $584 was that they were charging $199 for the 1st night & $309 for the 2nd night (Friday). Upon check-in, I had asked for a printout of the details comprising the charges, but they could only do a screen shot and it only showed the $584 total, concealing the charge details. It appears to have been a coordinated rip-off, but I believe there was less ill-intent at the hotel personnel level than poor management policy & systems management for the booking process, possibly due to the recent conversion to Marriott. However, in spite of the extensive lack of pricing clarity, the manager refused to adjust the charges unless I could give a copy of the Booking,com charges. However, neither Booking nor the hotel's check-in process provided that or any detail of the charges.

The Chromecast in our room didn’t work, our room was freezing when we got there, we tried to increase the temperature and it got COLDER, we could hear the people in the next room like they were 3 feet away while they were arguing all night, and there was nothing to keep the hall light from leaking into the hotel room all night.
