Hotel Per La Autograph Collection - Los Angeles

Located in the center of Downtown, Per La, Autograph Collection is a hotel inspired by the building in which it’s housed. Originally the Bank of Italy, a historic 12-story building on the corner of Olive and 7th Street, the space is a symbol of inclusion and accomplishment. All rooms feature original artwork from a Paris-based design studio and are dressed in custom-designed furnishings and luxury linens.

Many include standalone pedestal bathtubs and separate rooms for wash closets. Rooms also include desks, a fully stocked mini-bar, toiletries, and bathrobes. Guests can utilize the 24-hour fitness or lounge in the rooftop pool and bar.

Definitely not the amenities or services of a top rated hotel. Very small rooms. Inconvenient location and very hard to find especially after dark. No I’m room coffee maker, microwave or fridge. No spa. Area is very rundown

Service was poor- I waited an hour and a half for room service breakfast which was cold, not cooked how I asked and missing an item. Room facilities were lacking- no hair dryer, tea or coffee making facilities No breakfast buffet, had to order off the menu from one of the adjoining eateries. The per night $35 food credit is only to be used ‘at night’ which is very misleading. I was offered a free of Prosecco on check in however I don’t drink alcohol, but no alternative was provided to me, not even an extra bottle of water. Overall not a 5 star experience, no extra touches like a turn down service, doorman, bags not brought up to room, bed linen was not ironed, no individual toiletries or vanity kits provided, no bathrobes or slippers despite big bath in room and rooftop pool, etc etc. I’ve stayed in five star hotels before and these are quite standard services.

Hotel Perla is an absolutely gorgeous space, everywhere you look there are intricate details with a vintage charm. Our room was absolutely gorgeously decorated, every inch of the space was beautiful, the people were friendly, and it was a great location too!

There is a bathroom somewhere in the lobby close to the front desk, so there is a persistent humid smell of minty hand soap barely covering up the smell of people “dropping the kids off at the pool” if you know what I mean. If that weren’t the case the hotel would be absolutely perfect

The building is gorgeous. Rooms are very decent sized. Breakfast is good. Great design. The best was the staff though. I have stayed at dozens of properties in LA and in terms of service, Per La was BY FAR the best.

It’s Down Town. Nothing bad with it itself, but it is just far from the rest of the city. I took the chance since I stayed there during school holidays still. Traffic during normal days is even worse. Still, staying downtown has its charm. It is one of the few places in LA where you can walk places.

The room was great, shower was spacious and had fabulous pressure. The bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed the rooftop bar and pool. Michael was an excellent, attentive server. Having 35$ food/ beverage voucher was good. The cafe had good coffee and pastries.

The strong odour in the entry/reception area. The ‘free dessert daily’ as part of resort fee was not good. We enquired and then received one dessert for the 2 of us. We were supposed to get free bottles of water, however, enquired three times and didn’t receive for 2 days.

Nice hotel, well located even though downtown LA is not the best location in LA.

I don't understand why guests are not informed before their arrival when a private event is taking place in the hotel. Out of 4 nights, 2 breakfasts, one lunch, and one dinner were not accessible due to an event. It really gives the impression that hotel guests come second to an event that will be featured in the press. If we had been informed, we would have certainly chosen another hotel. Having access to the restaurant/bar at all times is usually part of the expected services in a 5-star establishment...

First of all the staff was nice and helpful. Not only at the front desk but also the waiters and waitresses at the restaurant and the guys operating the valet parking. Thank you for that, it made our stay nicer. Otherwise, the place is nicely decorated. The room was clean and accurately sized with a comfy bed and stylish bathroom. The bathtub is a big plus. The breakfast at the restaurant was also super tasty.

Additional taxes and fees are on top of the room price. Some of them you can spend at a hotel restaurant and bar. The location is LA downtown so not the nicest area, but once you get inside the hotel you will surely forget the street vibe.

I love that the staff was so kind and accommodating. We were late to our dinner reservations at the hotel restaurant and the front desk called to notify it and we were able to still go to our Valentine’s Day dinner. They also gave us a credit towards our dinner and two little bottles of Prosecco. The rooms are beautiful and the beds and very comfortable. I loved the decor. Also very clean. I would love to stay here again

The only things I can think of is parking is a little tricky. Valet parking is best option bc we never found the self parking area. I also unplugged the bedside table on the right side of the bed bc it was making a high pitch noise

Our room was very small, cramped. Also, the upholstery on the loveseat was not clean. The hotel parking is really expensive, especially when you add in tips to the valets for retrieving your car to go anywhere. The rooftop bar closed early each of the three nights we were there. Perhaps because it was in February?

Beautiful property with wonderfully friendly staff.

The room we were given was only ok. It was right next to the housekeeping closet so it was very noisy during the day. And the bathroom door squeaked horribly, which is a really easy fix and yet somehow housekeeping had not taken care of it. Our view was also of other rooms - we were close enough to just see right into other people’s rooms.

Centrally located in downtown LA.

Hotel allows non guests from the neighborhood as well as other hotels to use the pool. Can be overcrowded Friday and Saturday. As a paying guest we found it difficult to find pool seating as well as food service. Servers tended to wait on large groups (non guests) first and would bypass us even with menus in our hands.

The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown. Received a complementary welcome drink (bottle of champagne) at check-in in addition to free coffee and pastry vouchers valid for each night of our stay, as well as daily $35 credit vouchers to use toward breakfast/lunch/dinner at the restaurant on the property. Valet parking is available which is a lovely accommodation to offer at smaller boutique hotels as many of them don’t. The staff were just absolutely lovely and so welcoming.

The time it took to get my car from Valet was a bit long considering the steep price ($66/night). The lot they park at is 3-4 blocks from the hotel according to the staff members. You can request valet from the comfort of your room using a QR code and they text you when your vehicle is almost ready. I requested valet twice during my stay. The first request was made at 3:30 pm and my vehicle didn’t arrive till around 4:12pm (40 mins). The second request I made was around 8:45am on a Saturday and it took about 25ish minutes. If you have a tight schedule and need to be somewhere at a specific time during your stay, I highly recommend self parking.
