they really know how to misrepresent and lie about the hotel.
deceit, false claims and photos. amenities include beach chairs and room safe as listed on Booking.com and hotel web sites. deceit- they have no beach chairs so we had to rent them at $43 for 2 on the beach which totaled $214 for our 5 day stay. the room safe did not work. when we questioned manager he says they don’t work in the hotel. photos on Booking.com of a dining room that does not exist and a porch that has been closed for construction for what looks like years. i believe that most of the building is a rooming house vagrant’s. we couldn’t take the abuse anymore and left the 4th day.

Really nice and kind staff. Very service minded. Location is great, one block from the promenade.
The beds for two ppl in the three-bedroom apartment were not wide enough. The AC is extremely noisy and not very efficient. There is a strong smell of cleaning agents in the hallway at all times. Are they covering up for something? Worn down. Shower and bathtub fneeded a deep cleaning. I would not go back with the family.

The structure may not meet expectations as it is a bit old but when traveling these are elements not to be considered (at least for me) if you stay there for a few days. As I said, the structure is a bit dated like the rooms and the bathroom but my wife and I enjoyed it all the same, the beds were comfortable and the cleanliness was excellent. Breakfast is served at the reception with packaged products, coffee and hot water for tea and it was fine for us, if you expect to receive a 5-star hotel breakfast then book elsewhere. The location is fabulous, not even 300 meters away you are on the beach and on Ocean Drive and that is already a lot. I remind newcomers to holidays that if you are looking for grand hotel services for 2/3 days you don't have to book here and then leave meaningless negative comments, if instead you are looking for a comfortable place where you can move and above all you know how to adapt then this is the right place.

Breakfast was hopeless. The room was stinky with very poor maintenance. There were cockroaches ans when I mentioned that to the receptionist, they said it’s common. Having spent so much, utterly disappointed with the status of the room/property.
Everything. It is ridiculously expensive for the level of service and the quality of the room we got. The moment we entered the room, I requested for a refund as there was no way we could stay there. But unfortunately we paid all the amount in advance and they denied as it’s all paid on booking.com. We were forced to stay there as we couldn’t lose ~$2100.

Location - everything else was awful
We checked in around 5:00pm - place wasn’t great- lobby was shabby but acceptable. Hallways and rooms are covered in carpet that is pretty old and disgusting- other than that room looked acceptable. When I tried to wash up discovered that the sink takes about 25 minutes to drain. Our travelling companions - two rooms down had a pipe sticking out of the wall for their shower - but no shower head. We didn’t think this was great but decided it was acceptable. We left the hotel Elton go for dinner - when we got back to our hotel… at around 11:00 pm what looked like a bunch of gang bangers were hanging around the front door of the hotel and to our shock and horror we discovered one of them had the code to get in the front door. We watched him go in and walk down the hallway until he found a wall outlet to plug his phone into. The front desk was deserted and the night manager no where to be seen ?. We were on the ground floor and the alley outside our single pane window had some homeless people squatting right outside our window. Around midnight - the yelling , screaming and arguing began and it went on until around 4:00. The cops finally showed up around 5:00-5:30 to deal with them. They were gone for a while but back in the alley by 8:00 the next morning . When we spoke to the front desk about our concerns early the next morning he told us that the group hanging around the front door was likely friends of the night manager- that they hung out there all the time and we should just ignore them. When we asked about them having the security code and access to the building he said we shouldn’t worry and when we complained about being kept awake all night by the homeless encampment outside our window he said it wasn’t his problem. We were booked for 2 nights and told him we did not feel safe or secure staying another night- he said we were welcome to leave but that we would not get a refund for the second night .

It was cheap deal during spring brake. Hotel is perfectly located, has clean and spacious rooms, quite well equipped. Personnel is helpful and offer variety of options for breakfast (cereals, bars, juice, coffee, milk, yogurts, fruit)
Hotel is seems to be outdated a little bit from exterior look. In close neighborhood homeless people has their camp, are noisy over the night.

Location: The Island House can't be beat on location. Right in the heart of South Beach, it's perfect for walking the boardwalk, hitting the beach, and exploring the area. Huge plus!
Staff: The staff at Island House were fantastic. They were friendly, helpful, and always willing to answer questions or address any concerns (except maybe for the issues in the room).
Room Issues: Unfortunately, the good aspects ended with the location and staff. The breakfast was disappointing, not offering much in the way of variety or quality. Worse, my room had some significant problems. There were cockroaches, which is a major turn-off. The bathroom itself was dirty, and essential fixtures like the water tap and shower were broken. This made the room feel unhygienic and uncomfortable.
