It’s noisy, the location itself is noisy and there were some works going on in the hotel. Some of the furnishings are a little dated but still kept in a very good condition. Overall I would recommend it.

Great location, even though steps away from the square the building is secluded from all the crazyness. Close to everything but hidden from the noise of the city. Size and disposition of the room is even better than shown in pictures. Staff is much professional and helpfull, great hosts. Will defintelly come back.

We stayed in the suite with office, located at the 4th floor, overlooking the street. The suite for 2 people was really spacious, with a king bed, well-equipped modern kitchen, TV and a great shower!
Locations is less than 1 minute from Times Square and from 3 minutes from Bryant Park (1 hour from JFK airport by metro)
The area is not so quiet, so if yo are a light sleeper prepare to use your earplugs! I did it and I slept well (but without them you can hear the noise from the street, even if the 44th Street is less busy than the others around). If you stay at an upper floor or if you face the back of the building I guess it is it silent.

There were also several issues that we did not report--should have--such as flickering light bulb, remote that didn't work etc. But clearly these weren't checked out by staff before we arrived. And the cost, quite expensive.

The rooms are spacious.
This was an awful experience, reflecting the dishonestly of the hotel.
I booked a City Suite room for 8 nights - with the room details specifically mentioning a washer and dryer. When I checked-in, the room did not have a tumbler and dryer - and I was later moved to another room (which was practically the same size as the original room without the stated inclusions).
In order to have the specific inclusions in the original booking, I later noticed I was charged an extra $USD2000. This was never agreed by myself, and I was never asked to reinput my credit card PIN. When checking out, I was not provided an invoice for the extra charges.
AKA is claiming that I agreed to the charge - which is strange given I was simply asking for the inclusions that were specifically included in the original booking.
Interestingly, AKA have now updated the room inclusions on Booking.com. The inclusions mentioned for the City Suites are now highly vague and do not specifically mention the washer and dryer. So clearly after being called out for their dishonestly, AKA taken it upon themselves to update the site and be more clear on the true inclusions.

The location of the hotel was perfect. All staff were really helpful and friendly and were always available when needed. Our city suite was a great size for a week long visit, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, the bathroom was beautifully appointed with a powerful shower, decadent bath and fantastic hot water
Our room was rather loud given the location so double glaze windows would be good to dull some of the street noise. More lighting in the bedroom is needed as it was too dark with just the lamps. Some glasses would be good to make full use of the wet bar in the room.
Advertising a Bar upstairs is misleading as there are no facilities, a functioning coffee machine and bar fridge with soft refreshments would make the area more enjoyable

This hotel is well located, and the staff are all so nice and helpful.
The only reason they didn’t get full marks was because we had just one too many things go wrong. None of these were the fault of the hotel but, the water was yellow when we arrived (which cleared eventually), the sage didn’t work, the was a payment issue which I wasn’t told about and it’s caused me some problems, and there was a horrible noise coming from the pipe work which forced a late night room move. Non of these are the hotels fault and I am sure these types of things are rare but this time they all happened to us over a 5 day period.

The location is right bang in the middle of Time Square. The rooms are massive and we love the laundry service. There are many major stations around the hotel, all within 5 minutes walk. super convenient! The staff here are all so lovely and amazing, a big contrast to the wild world out of the hotel. We spent two weeks there and we truly felt like home.
The noise from Time Square is unavoidable. It is common to hear emergency vehicles or horns at 3am. The convenient location also means it’s a traffic jam everyday trying to walk to the train station. Room service is scheduled once a week! Can be tricky for a family.

AKA Times Square is amazing. The location, the bedrooms with full kitchen helps a lot when you want to dinner at home. The atmosphere is high level, minimalist. All employees with engagement, happy and always available to solve your necessities. I really recommend AKA. I can recommend to review daily rates…. sometimes are extremely high.

Location was excellent and not too noisy for being so close to Times Square. Service from all reception staff was impeccable and friendly along with great service form the housekeeping staff. Right in the center of the theatre district and actually right between 2-major theaters either side. Good range of restaurants next door and across the road and many others nearby. Only a few-minutes walk to Times Square. Our upgrade to 2-seperate bedrooms for ourselves and our daughter was well worth it and the living space was very comfortable with plenty of room including a good size work desk for my personal computer. Bedding was very comfortable. The kitchen was great to have (very expensive to eat out for all meals). The washer and dryer was also extremely handy to wash/dry clothes conveniently.
Additional ventilation for cooking to prevent setting off smoke alarm. Once we did this the first time we were careful not to create too much smoke while cooking.
Having the toilet in the bathroom sometimes meant having to utilize the toilet in the gym area when the apartment bathroom was busy, (not a big issue).

The added light breakfast on the roof terrace each morning was delightful. We were given an upgrade and our room for three was terrific, specially for an 8 night stay.
All hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Special mention to Ceasar and Kevin on the front desk who went over and above to be incredibly friendly, fun and kind. The day it was pouring all day, the hotel provided umbrellas to everyone- a special touch ❤️ I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you again AKA team for a wonderful stay.

I came back to the AKA hotel after 10 years and felt at home again right away! The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. Our apartment had a kitchen with coffee machine, Toaster etc. we had breakfast every morning in the room.
The fridge in the room is loud, but if you switch off the ice maker, then it is a bit better ;-)

There wasn’t too much, but why we dropped a couple of points on rating….thought the lifts were very dark and gloomy…. could be an age thing, as we’re in our mid sixties - but was a bit uncomfortable when we used them.
The air conditioning in our bedroom was extremely noisy, which disturbed sleep. No hairdryer in room.

The room is huge! It's extremely rare for NY. The location is perfect for tourists - it's super close to Times Square, NYPL, Bryant Park, and multiple metro stations in walking proximity. Being in the heart of downtown it's silent in the rooms. Complimentary breakfast is small but pleasant - pastries, coffee, and apples.

No more than a 30 second walk from being straight into Times Square, it was a fantastic location! The room was lovely and spacious and we had a huge bed. All staff were friendly and the more relaxed nature of it made it feel a lot more like home, rather than a hotel which we really enjoyed.
We loved the coffee and pastries in the lounge, but they kept running out of both at various times throughout the morning.

wonderful staff, very well sized rooms especially for New York, generally very comfortable. it’s right by Times Square but I didn’t hear the loud noises at night (on top floor). the morning coffee in the common space was very good and a nice touch.
this is probably more on me but I was expecting more of a kitchenette than I had. there was a sink and a fridge but no cutlery, dishes, microwave, kettle. I stayed in one of the penthouses which apparently doesn’t come with a kitchenette and I think the hotel should make that clearer. also the penthouse, while very nice and spacious, was very dark.

I liked that the studio has hardwood flooring. There’s a nice roof lounge space where there was breakfast pastries with tea and coffee. Kitchen had both a fridge and freezer (ice box) as well as electric hob (stove top), oven, microwave, dishwasher and basic kitchen equipment. Having a washer and dryer in the room is very convenient for longer stays. Hotel location is great - very near Bryant Park as well as Times Square. There’s less traffic/noise on the streets than the avenues.
It would be useful to have instructions on using some of the appliances although I’m sure you could call the front desk for assistance if required.
The bathroom could do with more shelving space for items too big to fit in the cabinet and a clothes drying rack.
The windows don’t block out all noises (occasional sirens, rubbish/trash truck, loud motorbikes etc) but city noises don’t bother me so it’s just something for light sleepers to consider.

Location is exceptional, friendly and helpful staff, nice room. The location is 3-4 blocks distance from at least 4 different subway stations that cover all train lines so you can literally go anywhere.
The daily "resort fee" is a joke considering the price for the room in the first place.
