Location and historic building. The bar tender was very friendly and knowledgeable about the building and its history

I parked in the parking lot next to the hotel and my toolbox was broken into and had about $1,200-$1,500 worth tools taken. There were no security cameras in the area

Location! Friendly staff! The history behind the building.

Our bathroom layout was in a corner so the shower was tiny and the shower head was very low. Fine for a shorter person but a taller person would have to bend.

Continu loud noise in the room from the water or airco. Only cleaned the room ones during 5 days. The room at th street was very loudy and the Alamo view was not very nice. Breakfast options

Loved the original woodwork and tiles and overall feel of hotel.

Some of vents in ceiling needed to be cleaned and beds were not very comfortable.

The location is perfect!! Directly across the street from the Alamo you couldn’t get any closer. Riverwalk is 3 blocks away. The room was very clean and well equipped the bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

The Valet Parking company is very slow. Requested my car the first day I was there and waited 30min outside and then found the overnight valet sleeping in a chair in the lobby which made me late for an event I was there for.

Hotel Gibbs is a very good location. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We used the Valet parking. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

The breakfast quality was dismal and not enough seating.

Full marks for location - across the road from The Alamo and a short walk from the Riverwalk. The hotel is charming and very comfortable. Only loses marks for breakfast.

Breakfast is very basic - what is it with Texan hotels using disposable plates and crockery? Valet parking is expensive but convenient compared to alternatives.

The location is fantastic, Alamo was right across the street, Riverwalk entrance was a block away. Extremely clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bartender was wonderful and very knowledgeable.

Having to valet park but it is understandable when you see the location there really is no other choice.

An old hotel that has been completely renovated. Staff was the friendliest from top to bottom. How often do you see the manager come in and talk with everyone at breakfast. Best hot breakfast ever for free. Great location. Highly recommend.

Because its downtown parking is quite expensive.

I liked the area, in front of the Alamo Plaza and the room size. The shower was separate from the restroom, which allowed us to do more. Although the shower needed lighting. The price was good for downtown, and it was quiet.

The beds were uncomfortable, very hard, and bit squeaky, and the room was not super clean. The hotel hallway where the elevator was, smelled bad.

Located near Alamo

Parking. Parked next to building and window was smashed out. My vehicle wasn’t the only one vandalized. Insurance deductibles typically are higher than window replacement so this will be another $400 hit for a quick trip.

Beautiful historic hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Great breakfast.

If you decide to stay at Hotel Gibbs please take advantage of the valet parking. We made the HUGE mistake of parking next to the hotel in the Alamo public parking. We came out the next morning to find that our truck had been broken into. Window shattered and inside ransacked. Thankfully only a bag of souvenirs was stolen and not our vehicle. The San Antonio police did a report over the phone and that was about all of the help they were :( They weren’t even willing to assign an officer to check out if there was any video footage. We were told that we needed to contact the businesses ourselves to see if anything was caught on video. Businesses were closed because of it being Memorial Day. Since we were from out of state we had no idea who to contact. The hotel found a piece of heavy foam board that we used to block the window out. We ended our vacation 2 days early and drove 1000 miles straight to get home.
