The staff was very friendly, the hotel itself was clean and secure.

The location is not good. There were people yelling, fighting and playing loud music all night long on the street below. The hotel provides earplugs, but even with earplugs and a white noise app going full blast, I couldn’t sleep. I frequently visit to see shows in the theatre district so I’m familiar with the area. I’ve stayed in a few hotels around the same area- even one closer to the Orpheum- but this was by far the worst. The bed was also very uncomfortable, the mattress was lumpy and the bed frame felt weak. Book a hotel one block closer to Union square.

Your employees are all amazing. You got gold working at the reception.

It is VERY noisy and very hot even though this is start January. There are earplugs provided but still didn’t have a single whole uninterrupted nights sleep. There aren’t any handles around the tub/shower area and the floor and tub is quite slippery. We didn’t have the full towel package when we checked in so we didn’t know we missed a floor mat and the smaller towels until 2 days later when housekeeping was by. The breakfast…its an yoghurt, an apple and a muffin…not really a breakfast for active grown adults/teens.

The location is smack in the middle of downtown area so there are ALOT of homeless people right outside the building which keeps it busy with people outside literally all night. The property does provide earplugs.

I LOVE the decor and the staff were PHENOMENAL. I hope a restaurant moves in and doesn’t change a THING about the current restaurant decor… it is so gorgeous. And yes, there’s a sketchy street nearby but what do you expect about staying in the tenderloin district? They keep it very safe and secure. It was cozy for February!

An overnight stay before flying home from SFO so can only really review check-in and room as I didn't use anything else. I paid about $136 I think and for the price really good value for San Francisco. Location was great - have stayed nearby previously and as long as you stick to Mason/Market St side of town it's pretty good. Walk too far in the wrong direction you can end up in the 'less safe for tourists' part of town so check before wandering. Hotel is indeed Bijou - small and cute. Few details reflective of price, eg chipped or broken lighting, no views, small room. But lots of good towels (ladies or people with long hair will understand this is often an issue!), comfy bed, clean, decent shower pressure. Staff were great. I would definitely return for a couple of nights.

Almost nothing at all. Only some kindness in some staff.

First of all. Booking.com provided a poor service telling this is a 4star hotel. Definitely it isn’t, as you can see in google (it’s rated as a 2star hotel). Despite that, the quality of everything in the room is precarious with no quality or maintenance for a loooong períod. The value charged is not reasonable possible. This should be rated as a 1star hotel.

Hotel decor was beautiful, especially the lobby, entryway, and restaurant area. Our room was small but comfy! The room was clean, which is very important to me. We appreciate the door needing to be buzzed open by a staff member or pin coded into for our safety. Our door pin code kept us from having to keep a key card on hand which was very useful. The endless coffe in the lobby kept me powerred through my overnight trip. The location was central to everywhere we wanted to go. We had an excellent time in the hotel.

centrally located to any shopping and dining needs that travelers might have as well as to all of the transportation options for getting to attractions. comfy beds and well-appointed rooms while on the smaller side. The staff is competent and not too in the way of business travelers who might like their privacy. Easy accessibilty while safe was z big plus.

The bathrooms were basic and water pressure was an issue. The property has a wonderful lobby and beautiful bar setup which I was hoping would be used for serving better breakfasts than we to go pastries that were left out for someone who had paid for a breakfast inclusive rate. Not the best atea for families traveling with kids - but if you like to a cheap yet classy drink or even Michelin quality food, you won't have to walk mire than 2 blocks. The hotel has 24 hour frobt desk service making late night food deliveries for a night owl like me very convenient!

The lobby and room looked nice. The "older" man behind the desk was very kind.

I'm in a wheelchair so I had an accessible room. The threshold between the bathroom and room was loos so my wheel got stuck and I fell really hard on the back of my head. We told the guy from the reception, he was very kind and called the manager. The manager came in with 2 cleaners strong, she looked at it and told us that we would here from here in a few days. She had to report this she told us. She didn't asked how I was doing and we didn't hear from her again. It was really bad service. Also did we asked for a wheelchair accessible taxi van.. We asked twice if it was settled and they told us yes. But when we wanted to go to the airport it was a normal car, so we almost just our flight home because we needed to find another taxi.

The area is not so nice but it’s sf so loud homeless and city noise is to be expected. I feel like they need to do better at sound proofing the lower level rooms close to the street it was noisy and hard to fall asleep loud music being played earbuds didn’t help much. I didn’t like that there was no microwave or mini fridge. Didn’t even offer ice . The staff wasn’t rude just nothing spectacular. Room was incredibly hot and the ac didn’t do much luckily by the evening it cooled down. But getting ready in the room was stuffy and uncomfortable the hall walls had better air. Overall i wouldn’t recommend.

I feel bad criticising this hotel, the staff were really kind and helpful, especially the guy from Nepal! The problem is what goes on outside. The first night (facing Eddy St) I got about an hour's sleep due to excessive noise till about 5 am, the second night I had to sleep in the bathroom on pillows but slept well, then we moved hotel. On our return we requested a room away from Eddy St and the noise was ok! again the staff were excellent. Could be a great hotel if it weren't for the noise.

The hotel is a victim of the city’s homelessness and drug use issues. The authorities need to sort out the drug dealers playing loud music all night, or this and other hotels & businesses will surely not survive. Take their boom boxes away?? I heard plenty of sirens but the police obviously aren't bothered about loud music being played till dawn. As a historic building, fire regs mean double glazing can't be installed apparently. Ear plugs were provided but obviously offer no help at all, I tried playing white noise on headphones too. I found it impossible to sleep facing Eddy St perhaps we were unlucky that the music went on for so long, as some guests reviews don't sound as bad. Facing a different location is probably ok. There were fireworks going off too, just in case you started to drift off..

The evening receptionist Punja is professional and extremely hospitable. I cannot say enoUgj good things about him.

The room was small, very small. The sheets had not been washed, the toilet had pubic hair and some liquid on the seat. Punja came in with clean sheets and assisted in changing the sheets then he brought in bleach and scrubbed the toilet.

Nothing. From the min as arrived I could tell the photos and listing was not what we had arrived at. The hotel reception staff was very unhelpful when we got there. Having 5 bags and a child we arrived at 1pm and were told that there wasn’t a room available yet but we could pay for an early check in and then we could have a room. I declined and said we would wait for the 3pm check and asked if we could leave our bags here. He agreed and took all our bags and we left.

We had all our money stolen from our bags that the concierge took to store in their hotel. I immediately noticed it was gone when we checked it, and raised it with the hotel manager who was very aggressive and dismissive of my claims. Instead of trying to diffuse the situation and help he tried to dismiss the allegation and I had to call the police, we immediately checked out and they still wanted to charge us for the stay. They were aggressive and unhelpful, the room was absolutely disgusting with no air con or room service. The area the hotel is in is in one of the most horrible run down and homeless ridden areas that they give toy earplugs at night to mask the screaming and noise coming from outside where the homeless and drug addicts have parties and fights all night.

The rooms weren't big but still nice. Beds and bathroom were comfortable and offered shelving space, which I love. The staff was also very accommodating and let us check in early.

The hotel is right in the city, only 2 blocks from Union Square. The windows weren't that great insulated and from 11pm to 1.30am we've had a loud street party going on, which felt like, we went to a club with our 8 and 4yo. No other rooms on a different side were available. I know SF downtown is noisy, but that was beyond a big louder. I loved the hotel and the staff, but just the surroundings, with constant yelling, cussing and music until the early whee hours, made me question if I've made the right choice for my family, by picking this location. The hotel needs to invest into better noise canceling windows and the city of San Francisco definitely needs to get control of the situation outside on the streets. The circumstances are ruining business for all the hotel owners and workers.
